With regard to the pill popping, that is something I admired him for. The over-prescription of opioids is obviously one of the biggest problems plaguing our country. He had the balls to tell the world that it was becoming a personal problem and he was taking time to address it. That said, the guy is still a complete douche. But not for that.

I participated in the Inferno Wing eating contest a couple weeks ago outside Davidson’s. I’m pretty sure they made the wings and they were good. I stopped patronizing Davidson’s a few years ago when they rolled out their “no tipping” policy. Best wings in the area, to me, are at the Bullpen. Their food, overall, is much better than Davidson’s and they always have Common Roots Good Fortune on tap - which is better than any Davidson’s beer.

Yup. Knox had a similar first couple years, re: dropping easy ones and catching difficult ones - and he was able to improve. Hopefully Gabe can, too.

I love Gabe and I agree with you! But I think the ankle excuse is weak. He misses some catchable passes, but he’s also had a lot of inaccurate passes thrown his way. In short, I’m glad we have him and I think he’s a solid #2 (absolutely NO pun intended)!

I’m still struggling to understand how one’s bad ankle prevents his hands from catching perfectly thrown passes.

This is definitely true. However, after years of not subscribing to my local newspaper, I re-upped about a year ago. It had always been a part of my daily routine and I missed it. I love having it again. I gave up on TV news in 2016 and still have yet to embrace it. I like reading world and national news online because I can choose to read about what I want to read about. The main benefit of the local paper is local news. Not just the stuff that’s newsworthy, per se .. but the editorials and stories about local businesses and people. If they end up pricing me out again, I’ll likely bail. But it won’t be an easy decision.

I was a huge Billy Idol fan throughout middle and high school in the 80s. Got to see him in ‘87 with the Cult opening for him. Dream show for me and it was amazing. Glad to see that he’s still rockin’ and LOVE that Steve Stevens is still with him!!
