They lost every game vs. Atlanta because of crappy pitching. If we can’t count on Verlander and Scherzer to be consistently good, we are fuct. They were both HORRIBLE in this series. The way DH has been “addressed,” is totally on Eppler. I can’t believe Ruf even BEGAN the season on the roster and yes … Vogelbach is pathetic. Lots of problems with the team, but I think the majority has been pitching. Terrible. The Diaz injury really hurt.

I would have been pissed if the Mets paid him what Texas did. That said, Texas’ GM should be fired. Anyone with a functioning brain knew this was gonna happen. 6’4”, 180 lbs., throwing 100+ MPH on a consistent basis is never gonna end well.

It’s not limited to rookies. What happened with Hines was borderline criminal. Huge disconnect between Beane/McDermott/Dorsey. Beane drafts/acquires players who end up collecting dust on the sidelines. Hopefully, they’ve sorted this out.

He wasn’t a WR1 or a WR2. Did you expect him to get 1000 yards/season? I’m not overcomplicating anything. Your personal bias seems to be the problem here.

I actually think this sums it up. Clearly capable of being great, but he simply could NOT be consistent. And from my couch, it looked like a lack of focus. Perhaps he was overthinking or trying to anticipate too much. Who knows? I will say that I don’t think it was a lack of effort, care or work ethic. I enjoyed him as a Bill and I hope he has a great career.
