  1. I agree wholeheartedly. After the 13 seconds debacle, adding anything onto McDermott's plate isn't going to be a good idea.
  2. He graduated from/is from the same hometown as Jimmer Fredette. My guess is that, if Fredette truly enjoys playing in China, then he'll recommend that to Girard.
  3. Just got this from our local weekly paper (Glens Falls Chronicle) and wanted to share: Glens Falls native JG3 today announced his current plans as he heads towards his fifth and final year of college basketball eligibility. He said he will enter the 2023 NBA Draft Process, but also maintain collegiate eligibility and enter the transfer portal. "From the time I was a little kid, I've been committed with a relentless pursuit to play the game of basketball at the highest level. My focus has been and continues to be living out that dream," he wrote on Instagram. "I will be continuing my dream by entering the 2023 NBA Draft process while at the same time maintaining my collegiate eligibility. With that said, I will also be entering the Transfer Portal to keep my options open and gather as much information as possible in order for me to make the most informed decision about my basketball future." "I want to express my utmost gratitude to my family, Coach Boeheim, and Orange Nation for the past four seasons. Thank you to every fan and supporter who has impacted me in a positive manner and has helped shape who I am today. I am confident in God's plan and trust that the next chapter will be amazing. I'm grateful for what has taken place on the journey thus far and am looking forward to what my future holds."
  4. I do think WAR is a decent measure for baseball. For pitching, I like to look at walks/hits/strikeouts per inning, weighing them differently between starters, relievers and closers. For football, I think PFF is garbage. No … I know it’s garbage.
  5. I'm slightly editing mine after (adding U2/bumping Huey) reading some others' submissions. The Police - Easily my favorite band of this era and in my Top 3 bands of all time. The 80s gave us Zenyatta, Ghost and Synchronicity. Actually, Regatta was released in October of 1979, and they toured on that album in 1980 and released Bed's Too Big Without You in 1980 ... so that album can be counted as an 80s album, IMO. To this day, I maintain that the Police's music is a genre of its own. No other band has done, or does it. Van Halen - DLR Era 80s albums: Women/Children, Fair Warning, Diver Down, 1984. Hagar Era: 5150 and OU812. Pure f*cking gold and most of their best work in that decade. Diver Down was a little weak, with the covers, but I still think it was a very good album. All of the other 80s VH albums, to me, are excellent ... by both iterations of the band. U2 - I don't know why I left these guys off of my original list. I loved early U2 (my first album of theirs was War). The 80s brought us Boy, October, War, Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree and Rattle/Hum. That is an epic list of albums. Unforgettable Fire is my personal favorite and what I consider to be their last "great" album. But the last two of the 80s were still pretty damn good. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Damn the Torpedoes was released in late October 1979 and three hits (Refugee, Here Comes My Girl and Even the Losers) were released in 1980. Then we got Hard Promises, Long After Dark, Southern Accents and Let Me Up (I've Had Enough). All INCREDIBLY solid albums, each with multiple timeless hits.
  6. They weren't prepared. They didn't want to be there. They didn't want to play. I'd have rather seen them forfeit than sit through watching them barely go through the motions. The better coached, better prepared team won. Par for the course in the Bills' postseason ventures, unfortunately.
  7. Hall and Oates just missed the cut for my top 4.
  8. The Police Van Halen Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Huey Lewis and the News
  9. Deb Barone Peg Bundy Laura Petrie Samantha Stephens Shirley Partridge
  10. El Scorcho!! Goddamn you half-Japanese girls!!
  11. Of course!!!
  12. Perhaps she doesn’t like it there.
  13. Been Caught Stealin’ - Jane’s Addiction Yankee Rose (the beginning, in the corner store, specifically) - David Lee Roth Walk This Way - Aerosmith/Run DMC Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O’Connor Buddy Holly - Weezer
  14. And 17 years of Favre before that. I know it’s a little crazy to criticize an organization that won two Lombardi Trophies during the Favre/Rodgers eras when the Bills are still in search of their first. But to see a team go over 30 consecutive years with first ballot HOF QBs only win two is borderline pathetic.
  15. I kind of lump Presidents of the United States of America, Offspring and Barenaked Ladies into the same category of "shticky." I know it's not a word, but it's just how I feel about their music. Offspring and POTUSOA each had a couple/few tunes that I enjoyed listening to. Barenaked Ladies, to me, are pure garbage and I can't listen to more than one second of any of their songs before I feel my blood pressure rising.
  16. This is tough!!! Amy Winehouse Cyndi Lauper Aretha Franklin Whitney Houston Patsy Cline
  17. HFBD, Buftex!

    2023 Concerts

I went to a couple SPAC shows last summer and got lawn seats. I’ve never been a fan of lawn seats, but these were more social events with friends and I wasn’t gonna pay indoor seating prices. Im only 52 and I remember when lawn seats were a standard $9 for all shows. Man, are those days gone. I’d actually like to see G-n-R, but spending $100 for a lawn seat just seems wrong. Very wrong.
  19. Pretty sure that would be Jimmer Fredette.
