The two 6-string Schecters he has are a Hellraiser Hybrid C-1 and a Hellraiser C-1. To my ears, the Hellraiser C-1 (black cherry .. gorgeous), is the smoothest sounding guitar he has. I can always tell when he's playing that guitar. As far as Schecters, he's also got an Omen-7 and an Omen-8. He went with the "lesser" models, since he's likely to play them a lot less. But they are still great guitars, as far as staying in tune, etc. With their higher end models, you get neck-through bodies, EMGs (on some) and better hardware. My son actually likes the Schecter pickups just as much as the EMGs. He's also a lefty, so it's tough to find exactly what he's looking for in the form of used guitars. Although, the 8-string he bought was, indeed, used; but you'd never know it. Anyway, I think you'll be very happy if you go with the Schecter.

Like most players, he wants to go to the team who lines his pockets the most. I, personally, see nothing wrong with that. I just don't think anything matters to 99% of professional athletes more than money.

Based on what he did (didn't) do this spring, I am also glad that he got sent down. But as far as I can gather, he made great improvements on his defense (his weakness last year), but couldn't hit (his strength last year). I think he'll get it together in AAA and be a contributor this season. It's such a "Metsy" thing to do, to continue playing players at a position other than their natural position. It's plagued the team spanning multiple GMs, coaches and owners, so I don't know what the hell is going on. I'd really prefer to see Baty at 3rd and not in the outfield. If they need his bat and Escobar is doing well at 3B, then fine ... I get it. But man ... it would be nice to finally replace David Wright and Mike Piazza with long term solutions, wouldn't it?!?

Signing Ruf was a mistake. Retaining his "services," was an even bigger mistake. They finally got it right by letting him go. Young guns all sent back down. I'm okay with it, albeit a little disappointed - especially with Alvarez. VERY cool news about Murph!!! Lastly, I TOTALLY agree that March baseball is pure crap; as is November baseball. LET'S F*CKING GO METS!!!

My son is a very good guitarist and he is a metal head. When he began delving into the floating tremolos, he got an ESP (Kirk Hammett model). He had a lot of trouble keeping it in tune. After taking it to a few different people to work on, he finally gave up and traded it in for something else. He got a mid-level Ibanez and that was the guitar he used to teach himself how to set up a floating tremolo so it would stay in tune. That guitar is still his baby. In hindsight, the ESP was likely not the problem. Not knowing how to properly set the guitar up was the problem. Since then, he’s bought a few different guitars with the floating tremolo and has set them up to where he can literally pick the guitar up by the tremolo bar and it will still stay in perfect tune. I’m only sharing to know that these guitars (like most) are not perfect out of the box. As far as brand names with the Floyd, he now has the Ibanez and a Dean (Dimebag). His other “metal” guitars are all Schecters. He’s got two 6-strings, a 7-string and an 8-string. Awesome guitars. Just watching him grow, I’d recommend ESP, Ibanez or Schecter, based on actual experience. Jackson makes very nice guitars and Charvel has made a nice comeback, too. But there are a lot of moving parts to those floating tremolos. Just replacing a broken string isn’t like replacing a string on a Strat. You’ve got the locking nut and the fine tuners at the bridge. Once you get it down, you’ll be able to do it on your sleep (my son just turned 20). Lastly, you can get away with going mid-range, as far as a brand’s series of guitars. The differences between mid and high range are usually hardware and maybe pickups. The lower range guitars are likely not worth it, unless you’re planning on replacing stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you get!

I have to agree. For 17 years, a successful Bills season was, "making the playoffs." This team is beyond that.
