For all of the articles I've read over the years about horrific pit bull attacks, I can confidently say a solid 90% have a quote similar to, "we've had her for so many years and she never even growled at anyone." Of course, abusing a dog (or training it to fight/kill) will make the dog aggressive and mean. It's my opinion that it's not necessary to provide a hostile/dangerous environment and that all pit bulls have the killer instinct in them. They all have a trigger and no one, including the dog, knows what it is until the dog is literally tearing someone apart.

Lee owns our local newspaper, for which I worked (ad sales) for about 9-months after being laid off. In the last 5 years, they have depleted the editorial staff to bare bones. They got rid of all copy editing positions. The paper has become unaffordable. They shut down the printing press and laid off all of those workers - which resulted in the paper being printed an hour away by another newspaper (which it doesn't even own), so delivery is a nightmare (which is why I stopped getting the paper, in addition to them raising the prices about three times/year).

It does happen with lots of breeds. I'm sure there's an article out there about a beagle killing someone. My dog was attacked by a golden retriever. Do I think golden retrievers are killers? No. It happens exponentially more with pit bulls. There is not a close second. I think it's important (whilst discussing this particular topic) to differentiate between dogs that bite and dogs that maul/kill.

The statistics don't lie. They are bred killers. No matter how well they're brought up, or how wonderful the environment is, genetics are more powerful. They all have a trigger and no one knows what the trigger is until it's too late.

Sweeny - and not Kroft - should have been the other tight end on the field with Knox. I haven't lost faith in Knox. I love the kid. But he has to catch passes that touch his hands and/or chest. 100% of them. Kroft is a worthless piece of *****.

I like this approach. But I still think it's important to be honest and set expectations. "Okay, Karen … now that lunch is over, we need to get some work done. See ya tomorrow!!" That should be the consistent message. Normal course of business, rather than a fake emergency.
