Two Weeks Between Games is Too long
Gugny replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't recall any Super Bowl teams coming out flat for a quarter or a half. Do you have an example? -
Generally speaking, I agree with you. But stuff happens. I was walking my dog (puggle named Chloe) through my neighborhood. Suddenly, a golden retriever escaped the back yard of a neighbor and ran straight for my dog. Chloe immediately went to her back and the dog was snarling and trying to bite her. Instinctively, I reached down and snatched Chloe up and the dog started to go after me. That's when her owner came to get his dog. No one was hurt, but that prick (a doctor) never once apologized. All that said, I'd never hesitate to approach a golden and if I was ever to own another dog, I'd be fine with one.

Damn. It isn't. Sorry for the fake news!

I think she's doing a fine job.

He was raised by a NY Met. What do you expect? -
I was gifted a box of Flutie Flakes many years ago. It promptly found its way into the garbage.

After all these years, I think this is the first I'm learning that you're on the right side of this argument!!

So, how long have you worked at Duff's?

Personally, the wings I've gotten there have always been perfectly cooked and sauced, the bartenders have always been friendly and attentive and the service has always been stellar. I also think the beef on weck is top notch.

Gore and Singletary still training together in the offseason
Gugny replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Frank Gore is an absolute class act. I loved when we signed him. I still think it was a fantastic (and the right) move and I'm very happy that this relationship with Singletary remains solid. -
If I had a vote, I'd go with Harbaugh. McDermott has (in my opinion) done a very good job with his "process," and we started to see the fruits of it this past season. However ... a 10-win season with that schedules is on the unimpressive side. The team was inconsistent for much of the season. I think he deserves consideration and it's right that he's a finalist. I'm still glad that he's the coach. But Harbaugh simply did a better job. He recognized what he had (and didn't have) in Lamar Jackson and he built a team and an offensive identity around Jackson's skillset. Ego went out the door. They were the best team in the regular season and that is primarily because Harbaugh didn't try to make Jackson something that he isn't.

I'd rather pet a pit bull than shake Flutie's hand.

I think (I know, really) I couldn't give two ***** about what this little prick thinks about the Bills.

Who Is Your Least Favorite Bill of All Time ... and Why?

I love Josh Allen. He is exponentially better than Flutie ever dreamed of being. The Bills would have lost badly against TEN had Flutie started that game. -
There is a chance that I may have mistaken another breed for a pit. It's really not sad, because all I do is politely avoid them. No harm, no foul. The only other species I feel similarly about is mustachioed men. They give me the creeps.
-
Well, luckily I carry a DNA analysis kit with me everywhere I go. If I'm unsure of a dog's breed, I can know its genetic make up within 2 short minutes. Any pit bull = me calmly going the other way.
-
Nope.
-
It makes it okay for me. It also makes me far more unlikely to be killed a pit bull. Answer to your question - YES.

All my life I've been searching for something Something never comes never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close Closer to the prize at the end of the rope All night long I dream of the day When it comes around and it's taken away Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most Feel it come to life when I see your ghost

I am legitimately afraid of pit bulls. If I see a pit bull, I go the other way very calmly. Even if it might be a mix, if it looks like a pit bull, I'm out. I realize that many, many people have pit bulls for years without incident. I love dogs. But I know I can't fake being comfortable around a pit bull and I always fear that if I go near one to pet it, that it will pick up on my fear and that could be "the trigger," for the dog to snap. I am convinced (I'm not saying I'm right, per se) that all the training, love, proper discipline and equipment cannot and will not prevent a pit bull from snapping and wrecking everything in its path.
