  1. I smoked a large hunk of bologna last summer. It was phenomenal and made incredible sandwiches. Nothing I could eat more than once/year, damn, it was scrumptious.
  2. It can be. It's been a while, but I would sometimes take two hot dogs, cook them, then cut them in half, length-wise - leaving me with four hot dog "strips." Then I would lay them side by side on toasted bread, top them with a slice of American cheese and dress with ketchup and mustard before topping it off with another slice of toasted bread. Voila ... hot dog sandwich.
  3. Some TBD traditions should never die. I think this is one of them.
  4. I'd like to hear your speculation. I have speculation, too. Mine is that, yes - the focus this season HAS been on the short/intermediate throws. That makes me happy. Those are the passes that win games. However, my speculation is that not enough time was taken to develop the long ball and Daboll irresponsibly/unnecessarily called deep passes in games (when the run game and the short/intermediate passing game were effectively moving the sticks). My point is that there needs to be a balance as far as Allen's development and preparation and I don't think that balance is there. And that is on the coaching staff (McDermott and Daboll). In effect, Allen and the offense are being set up to fail (not purposely) and the Bills lost games (including a playoff game) because of it.
  5. Keep yourself alive, wow Keep yourself alive Oh, it'll take you all your time and money To keep me satisfied Do you think you're better every day? No, I just think I'm two steps nearer to my grave
  6. I have one for when we have a lead. Perhaps they can pump it into Daboll's and McDermott's headsets ...
  7. What happened to VCR Alert ????
  8. Runnin' through this business of lifeRaisin' sand if I'm needed to.Ain't so funny when things ain't feelin' right. Then daddy's hand helps to see me through. Sweet as sugar, love won't wash away.Rain or shine, it's always here to stay. All these years you and I've spent together. All this, we just couldn't stand the weather.
  9. I feel like in this season's deep ball efforts Allen seemed to be thinking more and winging less. I don't know if this is one of those, "it has to get worse before it gets better," situations, but it clearly got worse. I'm certain no one coached Aaron Rodgers to throw his deep balls off of his back foot, just like I'm certain that no one coaches Mahomes to throw sidearm, across his body, to the opposite side of the field. Sometimes, QBs just need to go out and ball. My gut says to just let Josh use his cannon on the deep passes and stop trying to make him a finesse passer. But perhaps last season was just step one in making him a better deep ball passer. I have no clue. If opposing Ds don't respect Allen's deep ball, it's going to be difficult for him to get to the next level.
  10. It was an absolute debacle. The worst I think I've ever seen the most important position in sports managed. Some GMs would have "stayed the course," just to keep from having to admit wrongdoing and having egg on his face. I gave credit to Beane coming out and admitting he screwed the pooch (and I took a lot of heat for giving him credit by our resident NFL genius). He took his lumps and he did a much better job moving forward. Overall, I like Beane a lot. But, like you, I'm still stung by that QB mess and still want him to show me the baby this offseason.
  11. I don't know crap about college football. All I wanna say is that I think it's awesome that people are still naming their kids Clyde!
  12. Bob Griffin had a similar season. I'm not here to compare Jackson to Allen (although, Allen will end up being the more successful starter). Jackson had a great season. Undisputed MVP, as far as I'm concerned. It's just my opinion that it's not sustainable. Those charts look great, as do the stats. But my eyes tell me he can't pass well outside of his comfort zone (TEs over the middle, short range). And two years in a row now, the Ravens have met better teams/better COACHED teams and gotten their asses handed to them. We'll see if that begins happening sooner (regular season). My guess is yes.
  13. Here's a crazy fact that I just discovered after reading your post: offensive linemen dominate Canton: 46 OL 38 DL 30 LB 30 DB 32 RB/FB 27 WR 26 QB 9 TE 4 PK 1 P Games are won and lost in the trenches.
  14. Ray Guy was an individual punter. Tasker was part of a special teams unit. I think there's a big difference.
  15. He was great. But making non-scoring plays on ST doesn't get someone into Canton. It certainly shouldn't.
  16. Actually, Wonderlic scores mean quite a bit ... for QBs. Since 2000, not one QB who scored under 16 on the Wonderlic has had a good career. This does not mean that QBs who score 16 or higher will have a good career. Look at Fitz. However, a QB who scores a 16 or higher MAY have a good career; under 16, since 2000, means the certainly will NOT have a good career. So unless Lamar Jackson is going to buck that trend, I have every reason to believe that he will not have a good career. As far as the Precision Passing contest goes, getting a 2 might not end up meaning anything. But I certainly wouldn't have warm fuzzies if Josh Allen did that.
  17. Best at what, though? How many Bills victories can one look back on and say, "damn, if it wasn't for Tasker, we'd have lost that one?"
  18. Yes, we will have to wait and see. But history says that QBs who rely heavily on the run AND can't pass the ball end up having careers full of really fun highlight reels but very little playoff success. My hope for the kid is that he doesn't get hurt. But with that many carries, it seems pretty inevitable. I'm sure Harbaugh will field a strong team. I'm just curious to see if he'll actually try to develop Jackson as a passer (at least more of a passer than he was this season) or if he'll continue to let him run wild. If passing over the middle to TEs is all he's able to do for another year, opposing defenses will eat him alive.
  19. He doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.
  20. This position will get you in trouble every time. Believe me .. I know from experience. Since 2000, you won't find a decent NFL starting QB who is dumber than a box of rocks. Baltimore had one chance to win it all with Jackson at QB. They blew it.
  21. I've always liked you. Now, I want to kiss you and buy you a beer. #LFGM
  22. That's a water witch. Is finding water going to make Jauronimo rich?
  23. Well, we did have the XXX Olympics in 2012. They really sucked.
  24. He was my first choice. My guess is that the Wilpons and BVW didn't want to give any manager too much control - and Girardi said, "no thanks."
  25. Pricks! I didn't like the Beltran hire!
