Talked to my travel agent today with regard to my Puerto Rico trip. If flights are restricted, I will get a refund. If not, and I cancel, I will get a voucher. I've already canceled my airbnb and got a full refund. I'll wait on canceling the flights, hoping I get a refund.

A lot of artists are proactively postponing tours. Many area venues are taking it upon themselves to cancel/postpone shows. I think (I have not checked) that NYS set the cutoff at 200 attendees. That may have changed. Local nursing homes/assisted living facilities/rehab centers have stopped visitation. My sister and I both offered to shop for our parents (76 and 80). They did their "big shop," as they call it, last week, so they're all set. They normally don't do much during the week, anyway. Their normal weekend routine is to drive up north to a flea market, which they're not going to do until they feel comfortable.

It's too bad. I went to a bar last night to see my friend play guitar/sing. There was never more than 10 people in there at any given time. The bar owner (the wife; she and her husband just bought the place) was bitching about the lack of business ... and blaming my buddy for it. She ended up leaving and I had a decent discussion with her hubby. He knew the real reason for the light crowd. When I got my Uber home, the Uber driver told me that ALL bars were dead - which I figured would be the case. I checked Facebook this afternoon and the bar owners were both practically begging people to come in and, basically, "don't believe the hype." They are in a very difficult situation, as well as those employed by them. But their messaging is no bueno. It's a bad optic. I go out to bars about 2-3 times/year. I just wanted to show my buddy some support. But I'm done going to any restaurants/bars until this is under control.

For those wondering if they should cancel/postpone travel plans: Airbnb is offering 100% refunds. It took me less than a minute to cancel and get the refund going. I just spoke to my travel agent about canceling my trip to Puerto Rico (scheduled for 4/10 - 4/16). If I cancel now, I will get vouchers for my flights that I can use anytime within a year. My rental car will be refunded. If travel is restricted, airlines will be giving refunds. My cutoff to cancel is 48 hours prior, so I'm going to wait it out with hopes that I can get a refund.

Colts resign Costanza 2 Years $33 million

These forced resignations are so confusing to me. -
My normal routine is to do a walmart/grocery store run every Saturday. Didn't even bother with Walmart. Other than laundry/bathroom supplies, toilet paper and paper towels, the only thing I get there is coffee (my local supermarket doesn't carry my coffee). I have plenty of all of that stuff, so I'll save myself the headache. Went to the market and was able get everything on my list except meat and some veggies. For some reason, people seem to be buying lots of bell peppers. They were out of green and red. All ground beef was gone. All italian sausage was gone - ground and links. There was no meat in the butcher's case at all (I was going to get shaved steak). Gonna try again today and go to multiple places if I have to. Apparently, people in my hometown normally have very few rolls of toilet paper at any given time and also have empty freezers.

New York restaurants and bars have to cap their seating capacity at half. This is going to have a significant impact on servers, bartenders and the owners of mom & pop diners, bars, etc. Servers and bartenders don't get PTO and most of their earnings are tips. I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do; just emphasizing how sad it is.

Looks like I'm pretty late to this party, but I heard this for the first time just the other day. Snoop is hilarious. And he's a better singer than any of these new "real" country stars (like Luke Bryan, for example - that dude cannot sing). But wait .. there's MORE!!! Here's one with Snoop and Willie ...

I thought JG3 was in fantastic shape all season.

That's going to present a huge, difficult challenge. Out of a 45-person staff, I have 15 who have school-aged children. Most have backup childcare plans (family), but a few do not. If they are forced to stay home, it is still unclear as to how they will (or will not) be paid. Last I heard, they would need to use PTO or decide to go unpaid. What's worse is that those other employees who do NOT have children/daycare issues would be expected to come in. Naturally, that will lead to, "well if I had a child, I could just stay home and use my PTO/go unpaid." I'd love to think that everyone could see the big picture and work together on this, but I'm dealing with mostly millennials and … well … that cannot be expected. There could also be FMLA and/or NYS Paid Family Leave abuse. This whole thing could get very messy and ugly. I am prepared to have an evening shift, as well as Saturdays and Sundays, just to make more options for people to come in. Weeks of an abbreviated staff would cripple us for months. And we can't just hire temps to fill voids. That process takes forever. If I make an offer to a temp, it's an average of 3-4 weeks before their first day, due to a lengthy background check. By then, life will be back to normal.

I totally missed this thread/news. Did they restructure his ankle??? Well ... let's hope he is who we thought he was before last season. Perhaps an entire calendar year of being healthy will get him there. In Beane I Trust!!!

I've read that the Superintendent's Day strategy session is being used a lot. Rumors were swirling around the school yesterday, but no official communication has come from them yet. I can handle a school shut down since my son is gonna be 17 next week. I feel bad for families with children who will require daycare. I'm not sure if state-licensed daycare facilities would have to close, too. I do a grocery shop and a Walmart run every Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing the shelves. I just checked the inventory here at home. 13 rolls of TP; 11 rolls of paper towels. As long as I can get my coffee and beer, it'll be another stress-free shopping day for me. EDIT: I just read that our local school district has no plans of closing unless they absolutely have to. In the case that they must, they are prepared and bus drivers have volunteered to deliver food to the homes of children in need.
