Still Taking a Vacation this Summer?
Gugny replied to Halloween Land's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My son and I had a week's vacation scheduled in April which, obviously, never happened. For summer, we'd just planned on our annual 3-day/night weekend in NYC, which is likely not going to happen. We also have a friend's annual pig roast in western PA scheduled for early August that is still scheduled. Then there's the early season Bills game (not really summer) that is in jeopardy if the NFL goes fan-less. Working on a possible fishing trip (2-nights .. maybe 3) with some buddies. I've taken exactly ONE day off in 2020, so I've got some time and I intend to fill this summer with as much fun as possible with my son. -
Miami Dolphins to open drive-in theater at Hard Rock Stadium

If the NFL is forced to go fan-less this season, perhaps outdoor screens could be set up around the stadiums that would show the games LIVE. -

Lake Placid in August canceled? Why?? -
Yeah, these things can be frustrating for sure. I like Tom Petty, but Free Fallin' isn't even a top 20 Petty tune, let alone top 20 of all time. I am TOTALLY with you on Under Pressure. I think it's easily top 20, perhaps top 10. Another song that I've grown to love/respect as a very high-quality tune is "Black," by Pearl Jam. Not sure where that landed, or how it's trending YOY, but I think it's a legitimate rock song.

Dallas 175 million 5 year offer to Prescott
Gugny replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally get that argument. I really do. With an NFL QB, the OC should be able to call passing plays and have said plays executed. I will not deny that Josh sucked down the stretch in that game. The best comparison I can make to help exemplify my feelings is the late-game play-calling by Atlanta in the ATL/NE Super Bowl. I'm pretty sure most will agree that their arrogance and rigidity to "keep doing what got them there," (a lot of passing) killed them. The Falcons were absolutely stupid to keep passing the ball and, because they did, Murphy's Law kicked them in the nuts. I feel the same way about the HOU playoff game. Should they be able to call those plays without concern? YES. But with a 2nd year NFL who struggles with consistency and fumbles .... WHY push the envelope with a late-game lead?? That's my beef. -
Agree 100%. The dude is toast. Just another Jesty move by the Gase-led Jets. Amazing how anyone thinks Flacco would be an upgrade over anyone, let alone Barkley. Some people are just Bills fans who love to hate the Bills. Blah.

Dallas 175 million 5 year offer to Prescott

Allen was stupidly and unnecessarily put into the position to flinch. He never should have been passing late in the game with a lead. We can't pretend that last year's Bills were a Brady in his prime Patriots team where they could just pass at will. They weren't. And they didn't need to be in order to secure the lead that Allen was instrumental in getting them. Allen's lackluster play at the end of the game was a big reason that the Bills lost. But Daboll's play calling is the only reason there was even a chance of that happening. It was pathetic. -

Ted Nolan deserves his own mountain, a bronze statue and a place on the Bills' Wall of Fame for the relations he had with EJ's mom. -

i don't think anyone is arguing that Flacco's career was leaps and bounds better than Barkley's career. But I do think that 2020 Barkley would be the more trustworthy QB over 2020 Flacco. I'll be surprised if he gets through preseason, actually. He's damaged goods.

Watching the way the Bills' regular season ended and that pathetic display in the playoffs, I think we all know what it looks like when someone tries hard not to win.

When I wake up early in the morning Lift my head, I'm still yawning When I'm in the middle of a dream Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream) Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me Leave me where I am, I'm only sleeping

This really boils down to 2020 levels of ability AND durability, to me. I think we can all agree that Barkley is the more durable of the two. Career-wise, of course Flacco has proven that he's the better QB. But 2019 Flacco was on the level of one of the worst starters in the league. He is a shell of his former self. I think comparing the 2020 versions of each QB, they're probably neck and neck. That's why I give the nod to Barkley over Flacco. But I wouldn't mind an upgrade.

I don't understand this sentiment. Didn't we learn what bringing a QB in his mid-30s who hadn't played meaningful football in a while got us? Derek Anderson was about one decent hit from saying, "eff this, man." And so is Flacco. He's 35. He's coming off of a serious injury. He hasn't played since the middle of last year. This guy got sacked 26 times in 8 games. Is Matt Barkley great, or even good? Nah. But neither is Flacco and Flacco is an old statue who's one hit away from being done for good. So is either great solution if a long-term backup is needed? No. But I'd take 2020 Barkley over 2020 Flacco any day of the week.

I gave up on suet cakes because of squirrels. And every 5-6 years, I randomly throw out my back doing NOTHING strenuous. Always a fluke. Last time (knock on wood) was a few years ago. What was I doing? I was rubbing vaseline on my shepard's hook (that's not code) because of those evil mother *****.
