  1. Bonilla's deferred salary with the Mets is the most famous July 1 payment in baseball, hands down, but it is not the only July 1 payment in the game. In fact, Bonilla himself has a second deferred salary agreement with the Orioles. Baltimore owes him $500,000 a year from 2004-28. July 1 is a good day in the Bonilla household. Here are a few other notable deferred salary payment plans: The Braves have paid Hall of Fame closer Bruce Sutter roughly $1.2 million each year since 1991. Next year is the final year of Sutter's deferred salary plan. The team also owes him a $9.1 million lump sum payment in 2022. The Reds have paid Ken Griffey Jr. approximately $3.6 million each year since 2009 and will continue to do so through 2021. The Red Sox have paid Manny Ramirez approximately $2 million each year since 2011 and will continue to do so through 2026. The White Sox have paid Paul Konerko $1 million each year since 2014 and will continue to do so through 2021. The Mets have paid Bret Saberhagen $250,000 each year since 2004 and will continue to do so through 2028. The Nationals tend to load up their largest contracts with salary deferrals. They're paying Rafael Soriano roughly $2 million annually through 2024, Max Scherzer is owed $15 million a year from 2022-28, and Stephen Strasburg has approximately $114 million in deferred salary coming to him through 2029. Not bad work if you can get it. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/july-1-is-bobby-bonilla-day-why-the-mets-still-owe-him-1-19-million-a-year-until-hes-72/#:~:text=Sign%20Up-,July%201%20is%20Bobby%20Bonilla%20Day%3A%20Why%20the%20Mets%20still,a%20year%20until%20he's%2072&text=For%20more%20than%20a%20few,day%20on%20the%20baseball%20calendar.
  2. You could at least find girls in a Mets bikini pic if you're going to bump this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I'm not sure what everyone's beef is with this thread.
  4. I always open your threads for the articles.
  5. So my primary ingredient to make homemade BBQ sauce should be .... BBQ sauce?
  6. Et tu, PJ?
  7. As delicious as this sounds, something about putting a ribeye into a crockpot makes me verklempt.
  8. We're actually pretty old school. Still do the toe tap thing.
  9. CT, NJ and NY have set the example for the rest of the nation to follow. Unfortunately, not many states did the "follow" part and I hope those people stay in their states and leave ours alone. The list of mandatory quarantine states doubled to 16 yesterday and I expect it to continue to grow pretty quickly. Good. I just wish it could be enforced somehow. https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-individuals-traveling-new-york-eight-additional-states-will-be The full, updated list of states on the travel advisory is below: Alabama Arkansas Arizona California Florida Georgia Iowa Idaho Louisiana Mississippi North Carolina Nevada South Carolina Tennessee Texas Utah
  10. Oh, I don't think any of it is on the WRs. This is all on Jackson. Jackson has two tools: Running and throwing short passes to TEs over the middle of the field. When people say that BAL is a good fit for Antonio Brown, I just don't see it. It's like saying Thurman Thomas would have been a good fit on the Marino-era Dolphins.
  11. The ketchup is the main ingredient in making the BBQ sauce.
  12. The last time I did a pork butt in the oven, I coated it with liquid smoke before putting on mustard and rub. I thought it did a great job, as far as giving smokey flavor.
  13. Been busy, Tipster. How are you?
  14. For all of you crockpot pulled pork naysayers, here is a recipe that a former coworker shared with me, as his grandmother wrote it. It turns out ridiculously good. Yes .. I prefer the smoker or the oven, too. But this really is legit. (to save time, I am not going to worry about capitalization, etc. I'm typing it as it's written) bbq sauce: cook an onion finely chopped until soft put onions in a pot, add equal parts of light brown sugar, ketchup and apple juice (usually 2 cups is good) add a squirt of mustard, a few dashes of worcestershire and liquid smoke bring to a boil an simmer for 15-20 min or until it's the consistency that you want Pork: Put the pork in the crockpot, use 1 cup of sauce and top off with apple juice Cook for about 8 hours pull pork out of crock pot, discard cooking liquid shred pork and return to crockpot, add the rest of the sauce, stir and heat until hot Serve Laugh all you want, but before I got a smoker, this is how I made it and it is phenomenal.
  15. I couldn't even PRETEND to be a Jets fan. And you are correct ... I'd troll way better than this!
  16. I don't have the balls to create an alter ego and risk getting banned. I'm happy being my loveable self in the flesh! And troll??? I would never!!!
  17. Ye Ole! Just saying hello and hoping you and yours are well, my friend.
  18. Because he's not a Jets fan, silly. He's a Bills fan and a TBDer who created an alter ego to have fun. Unfortunately for him, he's not very good at it, as it's as transparent as cellophane.
  19. Two years a row, it worked well enough to get to the playoffs and two years in a row playoff defenses shut it down. Not sustainable. The Ravens' window with Jackson at QB was small. Now it's shut. I know I'm in the minority, but I think in 5 years Jackson is a backup and Allen is a superstar.
  20. Where the hell is Sam the hamster?
  21. To get this drunk, he started at least 5 hours ago!
  22. Day drinking rules.
