    My question was more rhetorical/tongue in cheek. Every time a quality football player retires, people say, "he'd be a great coach!" It's just funny to me ... for the reasons you've stated and many more. It's like saying every high school valedictorian would make a great teacher. Makee no sensee.

    I'm not saying Fromm is better than Fields. I'm saying this is like an EJ vs. Tyrod comparison? Was Tyrod better than EJ? Yes. Does that mean Tyrod was very good? Nope. Nothing I've seen, nor heard about, Fields tells me that he's a sure thing at the next level. Therefore, I don't know why any team would pick him in the first round.

    Fields had one ridiculous (fluke?) season bookended by two abbreviated okay seasons. Fromm had 3 consistently decent/complete seasons.

    I agree that there is a natural impact. Every SB winning team - and most teams that go deep into the playoffs - face it every season. McDermott simply didn't do well managing it. Andy Reid did.

    If Daboll had a crappy day at the office for the AFCCG and it was because he was distracted by the interview process, then that's on McDermott, too. They went out there and got their asses kicked in embarrassing fashion and they're going to add insult to injury by making excuses via this proposed rule change. The coaching sucked. Own it and get better.
