  1. I think he heard him just fine every time he said it. The joke just went over his head.
  2. Great stuff! Thanks for posting, Jay!!
  3. I can't quit you baby So I'm gonna put you down for awhile I said I can't quit you baby I guess I gotta put you down for awhile Said you messed up my happy home Made me mistreat my only child
  4. I feel like I used "A" for most of my life, but realized in recent years that I've transitioned to "An." Now using, "A," feel very weird to me.
  5. I skipped the formal (dinner) part of my 30-year reunion in 2019. I was talked into going to the bar where the after party was and it was everything I'd expected. The people who were cool in 1989 were still cool and the the a-holes were still a-holes. Definitely my last reunion.
  6. Count me in, anyway.
  7. HFBD, @KD in CA!!!
  8. What ***** language is this?
  9. I pronounced homage "HAHmij," and was quickly "corrected," by a co-worker. She turned around and asked, "do you mean ohMAHZH?" to which I quickly responded, "No. I said HAHmij and I meant to say HAHmij." Skank.
  10. Poor Fall. Overlooked again.
  11. i think both are acceptable and grammatically correct. Truly one's personal preference.
  12. I feel like if a long discussion/thought process is necessary in order to say, "yes or no," then it likely shouldn't be a "yes." I've always felt like the HOF should be for no-brainers, or close to no-brainers.
  13. Warner also won two MVPs and a Super Bowl MVP, and I agree with you. I was fine with Warner making it in.
  14. I know you were trying (A for effort) to be funny, but you actually brought up a good point. If the phrase is "... history lesson," I would say "a history lesson." But with "historic," I use "an."
  15. I think we're on the same page. I just think he'll get in on popularity .. much like Joe Namath did. Namath was not a HOF QB by any stretch.
  16. Well I'm upper-upper class high society God's gift to ballroom notoriety And I always fill my ballroom The event is never small The social pages say I've got The biggest balls of all I've got big balls I've got big balls And they're such big balls And their fancy big balls And he's got big balls And she's got big balls (But we've got the biggest balls of them all)
  17. Pic?
  18. Well every girl that I go out with Becomes my mother in the end Every girl I go out with Becomes my mother in the end Well I hear my mother calling But I don't need her as a friend Well every girl I go out with Becomes my mother in the end
  19. ... historic chain of events. Do you begin that phrase with "A" or "An?"
  20. If you'd asked me a decade ago, I'd agree 100%. I still agree, actually, but the NFL HOF continues to water itself down with marginal HOF players getting in. I think his popularity speeds up the process.
  21. I think Wilfork and Romo get in on their first try.
  22. @Captain Hindsight - Disregard what's written above. First of all - dads taking paternal leave is very common. This isn't 1970. Secondly, all FMLA does is secure your job when out on medical leave. It has nothing to do with pay. The only way you'll owe the company money if you leave is if you're being paid with PTO that you haven't yet accrued. For example, where I work, hourly employees get 24 PTO days per year ... so they accrue two days/month. If someone wants to take 10 PTO days in January, they can - even though they're only accruing two days at the end of January. If they quit on Feb. 1st, then 8 days (64 hours) of PTO would come out of their last paycheck because they took those days off using PTO and were paid for them before they'd accrued the time. Either way, it has absolutely nothing to do with FMLA. Lastly, if you're honest with your future employer about your paternal leave, they will understand and - if they're a decent company - encourage you to take what you need prior to starting. That said, I'll refer to the previous paragraph .... if you're using your PTO to get paid during leave, then you may want to consider cutting your leave short and starting your new job earlier, strictly for financial reasons. Best of luck to you and congrats on the baby!
  23. It's a bad precedent when owners let the tail wag the dog. I would hate to see the NFL end up like the NBA, where players dictate where they go and who they play with. There are obviously times when a player deserves more. But this particular situation is friggin' nuts.
