I absolutely wear gloves! Even with jalapenos. This chili was inedible and I'm not exaggerating. I LOVE heat and even I couldn't handle it. It was crazy. The good news was that the mild chili turned out just fine and there was a TON of food, so the absence of the fire chili meant nothing.

I expect Barkley to get 30 carries, minimum. But then again, it's the Giants, so ...

I used three tiny habaneros that @Beerballgrew in a chili for the TBDAHOT. I made one hot batch and one mild batch. I have never had such hot habaneros in my life. I brought the chili, but when I tasted it, I "took it off the menu," immediately. It was too hot and would have made unsuspecting tasters miserable. Seriously as hot as any jolokia (ghost pepper) I've ever had.

I want to do the chip challenge. I flirted with the idea of buying one and putting it in a bowl of regular chips just to see the reaction of the person who unknowingly grabbed it. I discussed doing it at the TBDAHOT in the shoutbox and decided not to do it, as someone could potentially die and I could be charged with manslaughter. But goddamn ... that would be funny.

Yeah, I've been on missions before during which I punished myself by eating wings that were too hot. Those days are over. I like heat and probably more than most people. I don't mind a tear in my eye whilst enjoying a nice, hot wing. But I've had wings that just plain hurt to eat and those days are over for me.

If your beef on weck was bland, then someone didn't make it right. I'm not sure how salt, caraway seeds, horseradish and au jus could possibly be bland.

If I were a season ticket holder and some Pats* fan wanted to give me a ridiculous amount of money for my tickets .... you bet your sweet ass I'd do it.

Have you considered the patch? You can get free ones through NYS Quits. I used them to successfully quit for three years. Used the patches for about a month, then I was done. Unfortunately, after three years, I began smoking again and am still trying to quit. I have patches, but I'm still working on getting there, mentally - which is important. I have begun trying to not smoke at normal trigger times ... specifically in my car. That's gone very well (I have a one hour commute each way for work). I was smoking 3-4 cigarettes each way. Now that's down to zero. You DO got this. And I got this. And everyone who is struggling to quit has got this. Best of luck to you, brother.

I had a bottle of booze erroneously delivered to my place of work. I found the intended recipient's name and cell number on the receipt. Long story short, it was Donald Fagen's (Steely Dan) wife, Libby. I spoke to her for quite a bit; she is a sweetheart. Then Donald got on the phone to give me his Fed Ex account number so I could ship the booze to their place in NYC (they were near Woodstock, NY when I called ... staying at Bob Dylan's house). She asked me to text her my name and address so she could send me a bottle of "Bob's whiskey," as a thank you for my honesty and "moral high ground." A little time went by and she sent me a text out of the blue, saying she hadn't forgotten about me and they were "looking for the perfect bottle." She never sent me anything, which bums me out. But it was still a neat day and experience.

I think our only hope now is that the Army Corps of Engineers heads to Orchard Park STAT and builds a dome before Monday night. Then we just need the Pegulas to close it off to the public. Then and only then ... we relax. @ExiledInIllinois @BringBackFergy @Beerball
