  1. Totally agree. The RRHOF is a complete joke and I no longer pay attention who's inducted/snubbed. It's a crock.
  2. With English being your second language, I can't believe it either!
  3. Rickey was an artist at the plate and on the bases. The art of drawing a walk is gone from the game. Other than the obvious HR records that fell to the steroid era, another less-heralded record was also "beaten," ... Henderson's bases on balls record. Bonds (on paper) is now the leader. That is a goddamn shame.
  4. I get what you're saying, but something about calling the Beatles a pop band rubs me the wrong way. I do realize that their early stuff was very poppy. I also concede that Macca was a pop song writing machine till the end. But I don't necessarily consider all of their radio-successful hits to be pop songs, per se. And the unreleased tunes were certainly not pop. The White Album was chock full of rock/rock-n-roll. However ... when I think "rock and roll," the Stones always come to mind first for me. I feel like it's attitude and presence, just as much as it is the music.
  5. Mets in 1986. The End.
  6. What happened to the VCR Alert??
  7. It's a great song with a beautiful message. Overplayed? Sure. Overrated? Not sure how one comes to that conclusion. It's got great lyrics, the music was well written, vocals were fantastic, it makes most people with a functional brain actually think. Everything a great song should have, no? Yep. Nothing I'd want to listen to every day. I have never been a big Lennon solo fan, but I do like a lot of it.
  8. Vai bored us to death. Yes ... he's amazing. But zero feel, as you said. Yngwie is like a caricature of the most self-absorbed 80s rock guitarist who ever lived. The entire crowd sat down and figuratively yawned during his set. Abasi is amazing (plays an 8-string guitar) and played with lots of emotion/was very engaging. But it was more of an appreciation for something unique and incredible set; not something anyone went crazy over. This was an arena (Albany Palace Theater) that holds less than 3K, but still spacious with a nice balcony (where my son and I sat). Zakk Wylde did War Pigs and for the solo, he walked around the entire arena .. down every aisle and up/down every staircase ... soloing; most of it with his guitar behind his head. We had aisle seats so he was close enough to touch. He stole the show. Nuno's solo set was acoustic. He was very interactive with the crowd and very talkative. Super nice guy. And man, did he put on a clinic. The show culminated with all of them coming out and doing an instrumental version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Fantastic. Was a great show and we will see it again if they come around. Highly recommend.
  9. I used to tolerate it. Now I can't even do that after hearing it a couple times during the season, lol!
  10. I agree with both of you on all accounts. I don't hear ANY similarities as each band evolved. It's like comparing apples to kumquats. I am still a Jack White fan, though. I think the guy is a genius. But I do agree that this was an attention grab.
  11. I don't know anyone who likes that song .. including me and I'm a huge Beatles/Macca fan! It's horrible!
  12. "People want The Rolling Stones to be cool, dirty, raucous. They don’t want to understand that The Rolling Stones were chasing a hit constantly and feeding off whatever the hippest thing was, copying whatever The Beatles did last week," he explained. “That disrupts the fantasy. And the fantasy’s amazing – I have indulged many times with those kinds of bands. That’s not an insult. That’s them being smart and figuring out a way to keep a train moving.” https://www.iheart.com/content/2022-04-10-jack-white-accuses-the-rolling-stones-of-copying-the-beatles/?mid=835631&rid=99009473&sc=email&pname=newsletter&cid=NATIONAL&keyid=National iHeart Daily Classic Rock [Combo #2]&campid=headline2_readmore @Rico
  13. How an injury-prone guy who strikes out literally 50% of his at bats turns down over $200 million is beyond me. That is pure stupidity.
  14. We saw him as part of the Generation Axe tour back in 2018. STEVE VAI, ZAKK WYLDE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, NUMO BETTENCOURT & TOSIN ABASI were all on the bill. Zakk Wylde was easily our favorite. Nuno was a close second. He is a phenomenal guitarist and very cool dude.
  15. That's friggin' weird.
  16. Now I need to go dig up the old bathroom etiquette thread!
  17. You'd say I'm putting you on But it's no joke It's doing me harm You know I can't sleep I can't stop my brain You know it's three weeks I'm going insane You know I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mind
  18. How the hell can Rolling Stone break a story that hasn't been verified by the ***** BAND MEMBERS?!?! Someone's in trouble.
  19. The DH in the National League made it more difficult for pitchers; not easier.
  20. I am a Mets fan and I watch every game and have been (when able) since 1983. I know exactly how awesome Jake deGrom is, believe me. I made the assumption that this list was for this year. So far this year, deGrom has thrown exactly zero meaningless pitches and hasn't done so since July 2021. That's why I said he doesn't belong on the list.
  21. deGrom needs to be able to pitch. He's damaged goods. But yes ... he's never had run support. I'm glad Cy Young voters finally stopped voting based on wins. It was always stupid and made no sense.
