If this means that men will be wearing mom jeans in 40 years, I don't want to live to be 90!

I don't feel outraged. I'm simply disgusted. I'm just not disgusted to the point of it affecting my viewing/attendance habits. Those are personal/individual decisions we all choose (or don't choose) to make. I can't even figure myself out. The Mets once re-signed Jose Reyes (wife beater) and I never skipped a beat watching them. But when news came out that Alex Rodriguez was trying to buy the Mets, I was fully prepared to jump ship if that had gone through. We've all got our own limits and thresholds. And to your point ... the NFL knows damn well that the miniscule number of fans who may boycott the NFL won't even come close to being felt.

I can be disgusted with an organization/business and not personally ban them. I am displeased with the actions of companies like Home Depot and Hobby Lobby, but I'll still shop there (Home Depot give veterans 10% off). If that makes me a hypocrite, then so be it. I don't give a rat's ass. I'm not calling for a boycott, here. I'm just saying that the NFL is scummy and protects some of the worst people society has to offer.

And now Mahomes whips out the race card. Disappointing. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34313366/specific-criticism-black-quarterbacks-weird

When my band first started, we played our first gig at my cousin's bar (actually opened by my great uncle in 1929) and the agreement was we'd get a minimum of $100, but if the bar did well, we'd get more. Plus we drank (a lot) all night for free. Fast forward a few years and we were pretty highly in demand and making decent money. Once/year, we'd play my cousin's bar out of appreciation for him letting us cut our teeth. And we kept the same agreement in place.

New York Yankees 2022....Aaron Judge sets AL record with HR #62
Gugny replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in Off the Wall
I used to feel the same way, Doc, but I've given up on that. I think it's just going to have to be up to the individual to choose which number to respect/honor/appreciate. 61 and 755 will be the records, in my eyes, until they're broken outside of the steroid era. But I know that the official records read differently. I honestly don't even know that the actual records are. -
Nice fake lips, ma.

July 29, 2015 Mets fans give Wilmer Flores a standing ovation and he has no idea why. Then he finds out he's being traded. Terry Collins still sends him out to take the field in the top of the 8th. Mets fans continue to show their love for Wilmer. Homegrown, gutsy player. Clearly LOVES being a Met. Flores couldn't contain his emotions and cried in front of tens of thousands of fans and even more TV viewers. It's a Mets moment that I'll never forget. I was just looking at Wilmer's 2022 stats the other day. I miss the kid. This link has a fantastic step-by-step rundown of what exactly happened that night. Interesting read. https://www.mlb.com/news/featured/wilmer-flores-changed-baseball-history-by-crying #LFGM

New York Yankees 2022....Aaron Judge sets AL record with HR #62
Gugny replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in Off the Wall
I blame MLB. They have too much control of the game and can alter it too easily. The steroid era was brought upon by the strike, which crippled baseball. It caused a lot of fans of the game to walk away. MLB jumped on the opportunity to go after more casual fans and the long ball made sense. They want the people who watch NASCAR for the crashes and NHL for the fights. I'm still upset that a lot of great records fell to this manmade power surge. But my stance has softened. I do believe these players deserve their spots in the HOF. I didn't believe that for a long, long time. But the steroid era is just another era in the game when it's all said and done. Now MLB is farting around with the ball to alter the game. They're limiting what pitchers can/cannot use (sticky stuff), which has altered the game (and made it less safe for batters), they're making all of these dumbass rules like the runner at 2B for extra innings. Whether or not they achieve their goal (to speed up the game/to attract more casual fans), Rob Manfred is ruining the game. -
If I know about the automatic 18%, I'm not opposed to adding to it to make it above 20%. I did, however, have this sprung on me once and it pissed me off. I told the waiter to let his boss know that their little trickery/*****ery cost him money because we would have tipped more than 18%. But I left it there. This was many years ago. I still kind of regret it to this day. But not much.

I agree. It would be awesome to see that record broken outside of the steroid era. If it could be done by a Yankee, even better. To this day, "61" still stands as the record in my eyes. -
Likely just another case of an extraordinarily gifted athlete making things look easy throughout high school and college with very little effort ... being told he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and can do no wrong. Now he's a big boy and he's being held accountable and because he's a high profile professional athlete, privacy goes bye bye, so he was publicly outed. And yes ... it's getting to him. Because he's not used to accountability and working hard to be better than he is. The guy had a choice between TWO professional sports and he's up there whining like a baby and inexplicably bragging about his ***** high school resume. Al Bundy, anyone?? He can go f*ck himself. What a ***** punk.

Now you're just being silly. And if you go to bars, you've probably gotten more than you bargained for without even knowing it!
