I thought coats were only for active players.

Was he allowed to wear a coat?

I'm glad you brought up rules. The fact that Belichick has always known the rules better than anyone else is, in my opinion. one of the things that makes him the best ever. He never broke rules. He learned them and exploited them. That's not cheating. Working the system? Yes. But cheating? No. As far as the refs go, that is completely out of any head coach's control. I get that Bills fans hate Belichick because he's owned us for the majority of his career and that there are sour grapes because the Bills, during Belichick's tenure in New England, have hired some of the absolute worst coaches the league has ever seen. But sometimes, you just gotta give credit where it's due.

There has never been an elite head coach who didn't have an elite QB. The only one close might be Parcells. You take the starting QBs away from the "best ever," coaches and they're very likely JAGs. You don't win 6 super bowls if you're not a great coach.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
Gugny replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad to see him speak out about what happened so frankly and honestly. After seeing this, I feel confident in how I feel about the Tua situation. Even if proper protocol was followed and Tua was somehow cleared to return to the field last Sunday, as the head coach of the team, Mike McDaniel should have stepped in and told Tua he was done for the day. McDaniel is the main failure here. He put winning ahead of his quarterback's short and long term health. -

curse of the butt punt--it likely saved Miami
Gugny replied to tbonehawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree. Close losses always cause "What If Mania." Very few games are decided by one play; this one included. -
I've been beating this drum for years. The guy has been averaging close to 5 YPC since he got here. His top three workloads for each season (year, most carries in a game, second most, third most) 2019: 20, 20, 21 (no more 20+ carry games for the season; also inactive for four games) 2020: 18, 18, 14 (played 16 games) 2021: 23, 22, 19 (played 17 games) This is insane to me.

Funny/Weird "part time jobs" as a young adult or while in school
Gugny replied to BringBackFergy's topic in Off the Wall
I was giving this some thought and realized that I have never had a part-time job. But this is definitely my most unique summer job. At 15, I got a job working in/on Lake George helping the owner operate his "Wonder Wheels," water activity. He had seven of these water wheels (similar picture below; same thing, just different colors) that we would inflate every morning right next to the lake, smack dab in the middle of the village. Then I would take one out onto the lake to try to get people's attention/rent one. I think we rented them out for 20-30 minutes at a time. I would have the customer sign a waiver, give some quick instructions and send them on their way. We had to patch them up when they had leaks, as well. I made $5/hour, under the table. This was a one-summer gig. -

Not sure how I missed this, but THIS was my 2nd choice! Before changing my ringtone to the Sanford and Son theme, the Taxi theme was my ringtone for years.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
Gugny replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fair is fair and right is right. I couldn't give a rat's ass about how Tua coming back affected the game. This is a 24-year-old (young) man who has his entire career and life ahead of him. It is ABUNDANDLY clear that he should not have been allowed to return to the game. Even if this independent neurologist cleared him, someone on the Dolphins staff should have immediately asked, "What? Are you f*cking kidding me? Did you not see that this kid was literally out on his feet just minutes ago??!" Someone has to advocate for the long-term safety of these players. Especially the high-profile ones - AKA, the ones who line the pockets of the NFL/Owners. This situation has made clear that the current concussion "protocol" rules don't do that across the board. -
Boomer Esiason suggests the Bills should trade for Barkley
Gugny replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why would need to lose draft picks? Wouldn't the Giants just trade Barkley for Moss straight up? -
These are great (first and third videos have profanity) ... the second one is my personal favorite.

NFLPA initiating investigation into Tua’s concussion protocol
Gugny replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I know. But how does someone go from not being able to stand or walk unassisted to being cleared to play in an NFL game 30 minutes later? It just doesn't add up. -

I'm curious as to whether you or any others here in the medical field know any neurologists to whom you could show this video; then ask them whether they think it's a good idea to let this young man keep playing a game: The first thing he did was shake his head. Then shook his head again before collapsing (nearly passing out) to the turf. This particular clip doesn't show him wobbling to the sideline before being escorted to the locker room. But come on ... how can anyone who watches this say, "a neurological exam is necessary in order to determine whether or not he suffered a concussion?" That's simply silly. -
Yes, I'm sure the decision to pack up and leave everything behind that you've ever worked for is an easy one for everybody. And I'm also sure that everybody has somewhere to go and can easily afford to get there. I can see why you're not wasting your time feeling for these people.
