The Athletic’s Chiefs writer Nate Taylor and Bills writer Joe Buscaglia to break down the matchup. Nothing earth-shattering/anything that hasn't been discussed here, already. Here are their predictions ...
Nate: Bills 31, Chiefs 30 — Here’s an almost obligatory prediction: The team with the ball last wins the game. So we’ll go with the Bills winning on a late field goal. Of course, Bills fans will want the field-goal attempt to start with only a few seconds on the clock, ensuring that it’s the final snap of the game. The Bills, I believe, have learned plenty from how their previous season ended, more than just what went wrong in the final 13 seconds of regulation. The best way the Bills can prove they’re the NFL’s best team this season, at least through six weeks, is by beating the Chiefs on the road.
Joe: Bills 33, Chiefs 24 — The Bills have enough offensive firepower to go toe-to-toe with Mahomes and the Chiefs, but I think their defense is better equipped than last year to deal with this evolved version of the Chiefs offense. As long as the defensive front gets into the backfield on occasion, I cautiously think the Bills will come away victorious in this round.
