  1. Have they not realized it? Or have they not yet chosen to show the rest of the world what they know they're capable of?
  2. He was a Ray of sunshine.
  3. I consider The Godfather to be the greatest movie of all time and easily one of my favorites to watch.
  4. You'd say I'm putting you on But it's no joke It's doing me harm You know I can't sleep I can't stop my brain You know it's three weeks I'm going insane You know I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mind
  5. I think you have this thread confused with another thread dedicated to old men yelling at clouds. Try using the search function.
  6. Verlander vs. Syndergaard tonight. If Verlander sh!ts the bed again, then he’s just cursed. The Phillies can’t feel great about Syndergaard being their guy in what is pretty much a must-win game. But this Series has been chock full of WTF moments/games, so who the hell knows what’s in store for tonight? It’s been a fun one to watch, so far.
  7. While I don't think it's the best movie, ever ... my favorite movie is "I Am Sam." No other movie moves me to tears like this one does. Sad tears and happy tears. And a lot of them. Sean Penn absolutely deserved a Best Actor Oscar (Denzel Washington won it for Training Day, which I get) and the soundtrack (all Beatles covers by great artists) is absolutely fantastic. I don't watch it often, but when I do, I always make sure everything around me is right. It's just a great film, all around.
  8. It provides me with entertainment. That's why I want most of the things I want.
  9. Nola's last two starts have not been great. I really think Philly needs to win tonight to even begin to feel a LITTLE comfortable. Philly can't count on hitting 5 bombs again and they need to be able to manufacture some runs. I think if Houston wins tonight, this series is going seven games. Still hanging onto Phillies in 6.
  10. These are things that I believe either the catcher or the pitching coach should be able to identify/catch during the game. I'm not sure if that's unreasonable.
  11. First I drink ... then I smoke.
  12. My wish is for purely selfish purposes. I'd take great joy in watching some of these one-percenters squirm a little.
  13. It really depends on the game, situation and opponent. There is no "identity." The approach needs to be pragmatic. Offense and defense. I know it pissed a lot of people off, but allowing Green Bay to run the ball was the right play with a two-score lead. They killed the clock on themselves. The only reason it was an issue (which it really never turned out to be) for the Bills, was because they weren't making tackles. Anyway ... the answer to the original question will be different week-to-week, in my opinion.
  14. Snyder is probably the dumbest for getting caught.
  15. I hope he writes a book after the sale is complete and smears every NFL owner he can.
  16. I think it was likely a combination of McCullers tipping pitches, being painfully predictable (does NOT throw fastballs to left-handed hitters) and simply throwing horrible pitches over the middle of the plate. Sometimes you're the pigeon; sometimes you're the statue. McCullers was the statue last night.
  17. I root for losses that will help the Bills. Any NFC team over any AFC team; any team over teams competing for the one-seed, etc. If it's an NFC vs. NFC matchup, I generally don't GAF.
  18. Mahomes played his best game against the Bills in the playoffs last year and the Bills ended up beating themselves. If Allen brings his 2021 playoffs game into the 2022 playoffs, the Bills are the only team in the Bills’ way.
  19. I really hope so. I loved the pick when Beane drafted him. It just didn't work out. I'd love to see him find success and enjoy a solid NFL career.
  20. Hines vs. McKissic ...
  21. Outside, indeed. Beers are $4 (Canadian draft) and they let you buy them at the bar and bring them outside. I was totally fine with it. Spent the first hour or so with my son; then the rest of the party came and we got to catch up, since we hadn't seen each other for a very long time. Yeah, we drove 5 hours to get there. Normally, I'd never wait three hours to do anything. But this has become a tradition that I love.

    Happy Halloween

No taffy, here. Reese's, Snickers, Almond Joy, Milky Way, Twix ... all chocolate based stuff. Not a lot of room in the freezer at the moment. I ***** despise side-by-side refrigerator/freezers.
  23. We got to the Bar Bill at 4pm that same day (Saturday before the Steelers game). We ended up waiting three hours for a table. Granted, we had a party of ten; but three hours is definitely a record. Luckily it wasn't unbearably cold and it wasn't raining. And yes ... it was totally worth it!

    Happy Halloween

I bought about $65 worth of candy, as I normally do each year. Weather was perfect for trick or treating; no rain, no wind, in the 50s. Traffic started out pretty steady starting at around 5:45pm. I told each trick or treater to "take a few." Many asked me to specify what a few meant (they were being polite), my stock answer was, "oh, 3 or 4 .. I'd take 4 if I were you." Most kids took two or three. Then, once 7pm hit ... nothing. Usually the older kids make their rounds between 7-7:45, but I only had a few of them. I've probably got about 1/3 of the candy left, which NEVER happens. Weird year. In years past, any left over candy would go to my office for the staff. I work from home now, so I need to find a place for this stuff.
