Bills Release Thad Lewis
mountainwampus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought he was the most effective of the 3 QBs. Had the highest yards per attempt (6.96) despite playing some tough road games. That's not really good just how bad the other QBs are. -
EJ, WRS, etc., and a suggestion or 2.....
mountainwampus replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ didn't pass the eye test. Even though it's only preseason, the home crowd took a good look at him and booed him off the field, presumably in front of their kids. When has a QB ever been booed off the field in preseason? This is top news on NFL.com today. Fitzy was very disliked and had some dismal outings in preseason, but nobody booed. -
Who should stay on with new ownership?

Can someone explain to me what any of these guys have done? Brandon has done nothing but lose (.382 winning percentage since '06 promotion) and sell us out to Toronto to lose more. Marrone hasn't been anything special. Whaley seems to draft selfishly and doesn't understand how to build a team to win. This team just loses. Longest playoff draught in entire NFL. Am I missing something? I can't imagine anyone spending over a Billion just to keep this garbage in place. -
Available QBs ... Slim pickings ?

Someone who doesn't make the cut for either Seahwaks or 49ers would be ideal. Possibly Josh Johnson, Pryor or Tjax (not Gabbert). But they're probably all locks -
My Untrained Eye -- thoughts on BUF/PIT
mountainwampus replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gurly looks like a legit NFL WR. I could see him making the practice squad. Thad has regressed. Where did DT Cohen come from? Can EJ throw a pass while running? TJ getting too many reps. How did the Bills run so many plays? -
Do we have 3 #1 wrs??? I think so!

Hogan, Watkins and who's the 3rd? -
One injury over 5 years doesn't have the same gravity as 3 over 10 games. Anyway, I fail to see how Brees has anything to with Manuel. Different players on different teams in different circumstances. The Bills are in "win now" mode. Not "develop EJ" mode. Brees already established himself at the point of his injury. EJ hasn't proven much of anything. What is EJ's trade value at this point?

I understand why people are skeptical of Tuel. He looks like a deer in headlights every time the cam focuses on his face. But look at the plays! He played well againt KC. The pick 6 was a stupid play call (Jim Kelly's opinion). TJ lost the game with his fumble 6. Other than that, Tuel had some good throws to extend drives. Stats don't matter with such a small sample size. He's a complete wildcard who seems determined to succeed.

This is supposed to be the year of no excuses, so I think it's fair to blame EJ. Some may call it 'slow eyes' but I think it's more like tunnel vision. He doesn't notice things directly in front of him if he's focusing on something else. Defenses can read his intentions. Timing the jump/swat is easy if the target is broadcasted by EJ's slow eyes.

I've read that Nelson is getting all the first team snaps. Why would anybody doubt him? He's a stud. He is 6'5" with a 39" vertical and ~4.6 40 time. He has good speed for his size and an insane amount of catch radius! Results don't lie. He catches 65% of passes coming his way (better than any Bills WR). Sure, he was undrafted, but who was his QB in college? TEBOW!! Go figure.

Right or wrong, TJ will trump Hogan. Meanwhile, David Nelson is locked in as Jets #2 after Decker. Makes me sick that we kept TJ over him!

Okay...if not EJ, then who?
mountainwampus replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would have gone after Josh Johnson or Terrell Pryor to challenge EJ, but I'm also jealous of the moves made by The Bucs and Jets at QB. They addressed the fact that Geno Smith or Glennon may not work out, so they put in a contingency plan. Keep in mind that neither Geno nor Glennon had 3 knee injuries last year (or any injuries at all) and EJ did not distinguish himself as being a safer bet. -
Sammy's Madden 15 Rating
mountainwampus replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stevie ended the year at 90 ovr. I see the Bills passing game being pretty weak until Sammy gets upgraded. Another factor that weakens the Bills (strictly in Madden) is if TJ gets cut. He may be awful in real life, but speed kills in Madden, and he is elite. -
He's an executive at Viacom, the corporation that owns the broadcasting rights to all AFC games, so it's likely that he does control everything. He literally has financial control over Goodell because of his corporate ties. Is it any wonder why the Pats can call all the shots in the NFL? After one questionable Field Goal, they force every team to install 5ft higher posts!? What other crybaby team could've made that happen?!

I agree that McKelvin had a great year and seems to be improving every year, but has he ever done a backflip into the endzone on a pick 6? Also, are we all ready to forget about his kickoff fumble vs Pats way back in '09?? That was heartbreaking and stupid. So far Robey hasn't done anything wrong, just awesome plays.

My favorite Bills plays are the ones where Brady walks away crying, like getting hit by Clements or Florence's pick-6. I'm also partial to F

One Bill to be All-Pro in 2014?

Spikes. I can really see him being the D's MVP, especially now that Kiko is out.
