  1. Nobody mentions the lack of experienced WRs. Woods is the 1-season vet, but who is his mentor? Hogan is a lacrosse player. Most of Watkins' college receptions were near the LOS, now I don't see the greatest route running out if him. Glass Goodwin is a great sprinter, but lousy football player. Williams has the most experience being a productive WR, but he's 9th string. This WR corps needs a vet. That was how the 90's Bills always did it.
  2. How about all players start wearing Kelso style helmet caps as standard equipment? I haven't heard any any compelling arguments against them, other than looks and durability issues.
  3. I recall we were getting gashed on KO returns last season. Marrone can't stomach the thought of covering a KO. He wants to keep ST out of the game. He wants a sure thing: drive starts at the 20. Seems idiotic to think that Carpenter's accuracy is somehow affected by a few kickoffs per game. I've never heard of such a thing. Wouldn't it be better to just kick it short and give Easley a chance to pin them? Carpenter was accurate last year, even with kickoff duty, and he usually got touchbacks anyway. If a KO specialist is such a good idea, why doesn't any other team in the NFL have a kickoff specialist? Is Marrone some lone genius? Now there is no room on the roster for our red zone threat, Mike Williams, because too many kickers. Having more than 3 ST stars only bolsters my argument that Crossman is a non-factor. It's the players that are good. Thanks for agreeing.
  4. If Crossman is so good, why do we have Gay, the kickoff specialist, on the roster? Oh, that's right, because Crossman sucks. Meanwhile, every good team routinely pins opponents inside the 20 on kickoffs. The ST superstars are Easley, Carpenter and Schmidt. Crossman has nothing to do with their talents.
  5. Moving away from Gilmore criticism, I want to know how Decker is considered a #1 WR? He is running half-speed, turned sideways, looking back while the ball is in the air and only accelerates at the last moment, then has to dive. That is just not proper WR technique! That's the type of route running I'd expect out of a blocking-TE, a Fullback or TJ Graham, but not a legit #1 WR. I believe Vick placed this ball perfectly, with plenty of float, but Decker didn't want to run because he was so wide open and felt he shouldn't have to. He looked great in Denver, but that was mainly because of Peyton Manning, as well as refs looking the other way on rubs/picks and all the times he pushed off coverage to gain separation. Sanders has been far better than Decker ever was, ever will be.
  6. It was well known that this last draft was stocked with great WRs. Just as it was well known that 2013 was one of the weakest classes for QBs. Bills have a knack for buying high, selling low, and pulling the trigger at the worst possible times.
  7. 4th and 2,Houston Texans rush to line-up and quick snap a running play. Beautiful and brilliant. The type of play Hackett could never dream up.
  8. Bridgewater, Dalton and Eli Manning all commited blantant intentional groundings yesterday without getting flagged for it. There is no consistent rulings in this league. I also notice Pacman Jones bumping an official, disputing a catch, at least as bad as Hughes last personal foul, but there was no flag.
  9. McKelvin figuratively had his head up his butt when he guaranteed victory. So, the football gods literally broke his ankle. Similar to those two "discount double check" sack dance injuries.
  10. Worst calls of the week: #1. Pass Interference on Gilmore. That was textbook pass coverage. #2. Intentional Grounding, Safety. Typical NFL incompletion. Orton had every "intention" of throwing a catchable ball to Watkins, who was too late with his double move. #3. Hughes Personal Foul. Yes, he bumped into an official, but it didn't seem intentional. Very strict call. Seemed like the official purposely stood in the way of Hughes who just wanted to congratulate his teammate on the sack.
  11. Orton didn't have time to hang on to the ball long enough for any of Hacketts Marronic plays to develop. Any QB would fail in that situation.
  12. Flea Flicker to Hogan, 80 yard TD
  13. Marronic is more like it. Yes, TJ got the 2nd most offensive snaps last season behind Woods. It was over 70% of all offensive snaps. Absolutely Marronic.
  14. Marrone has proven he has no business being a HC in the NFL. This fiasco is causing irreparable damage to the franchise by the message it sends: Free Agents beware. Coming to Buffalo is career suicide, even if the HC was your college coach.
  15. The PI call on Chandler is weak compared to what Gronk does on a routine basis with full immunity. The Bills were definitely under a microscope today. I thought the hold on Urbik was pretty ticky tack. Stuff like that usually doesn't get called. Neutral zone infraction on Hughes: was he really? I guess Henderson twitched on 4th & 1. Whatever. How about the guy yanking on Lee Smith's leg?
  16. This guy was nuts from the second we drafted him. I recall a situation where he threatened his own father with a gun. Funny how our scouts didn't see any of that coming.
  17. Looks like Bengals have a pretty good new starter, Jason Campbell. Good rating, anyway.
  18. I suppose the points scored were adequate, but clearly the D did most of the heavy lifting to get the points. The last 2 times we faced the Jets, the offense couldn't move the ball or march down the field. Instead, the offense relied on big pass plays. In both games, it was feast or famine, either connect on a long bomb or it was a 3 & out. To win consistently, you need to sustain a drive once in a while.
  19. Mike Williams. The next coach will put him higher than 9th string.
  20. I see. I guess TJ didn't really slow down Wilson as much as everyone else, but he definitely wasn't helping. Wilson's year at Wisconsin was much better than his TJ years.
  21. The showboating was too embarrassing. Let some other rookies get a chance this week. I chose Cooks. That volley catch was memorable.
  22. While TJ wasn't Tuel's only target he WAS the only target that was resulting in catastrophic results for Tuel. It started last year in preseason. Tuel would put up accurate, catchable deep passes for TJ, but TJ stopped or didn't realize the ball was coming. Then the KC pick 6, which happened to be targeting TJ. His fumble 6 lost Tuel that game. This year in preseason Tuel made some nice passes to TJ. One was a throw on the run on 3rd & 10 but TJ only ran a 9 yard route. Another was popped off of TJs stone hands for an INT. Perhaps his INT vs Cleveland was not to TJ (actually it was Hogan), but that is the only mistake of Tuel's NFL career that doesn't somehow involve TJ. Remember Jordan Palmer? Every single INT he threw was to TJ. He wasn't even capable of playing DB on those throws. Most of EJs INTs were contested balls to TJ. Russell Wilson was benched and transfered when TJ was his top WR. Without TJ he's a Super Bowl winning franchise QB. Between the losses, INTs and TJs constant fumbles, it could've destroyed Wilson's career had he not transferred. Even this year, TJ vs the Pats, he was awful! (he's not on the team yet still screwing us!) The Jets should have won but TJ was out there falling down on routes. It actually resulted in a botched defensive holding call on one of TJs falls, but that didn't offset all the poor routes and mistakes he made. No catching or route running ability. It's not fair to judge a QB who had to endure the suckiness that is TJ.
  23. Nobody ever wanted Urbik benched (except Marrone). He was even good at Center when he filled in for injured Wood a few years back (much better than Levitre at Center). Just another poor assessment of talent by Marrone. Reminds me of how Mike Williams is now riding the bench now despite being the most experienced and physical pass-catcher on the team. Nobody ever said Williams should be benched, only Marrone.
  24. While were on the topic of TJ I'd like to point out that a very large percentage of passes targeting him result in INTs. The McKelvin INT that was disallowed was targeting TJ. Most of EJs INTs were targeting TJ. Every INT of Tuel's career was targeting TJ. This is why I hope Tuel gets another chance. (EJ already got his chance to play without TJ.)
  25. Worst player in the league, laying down on the field during the kickoff. Harvin wanted to throw it to him. That was such an epic failure. Looked like he was praying or something?! He didn't seem to notice that the ball was kicked. Classic TJ blooper.
