Dungy is right. I've seen games where refs hold up the snap if teams try to deceive with a substitution or last minute ineligible receiver. They will stand over the ball. In the case of the Pats, throwing to guys in the LT position, they are declaring at the last second, the ref is sprinting away to allow for a quick snap. It's dirty cheating. Another tactic they've used in recent years is the "pretend to go for it, then sprint the punt unit on the field." Since when is it legal to not allow a team to switch to special teams? That's another type of play the ref needs to delay the snap and allow the Defense off the field. That's how refs do it in non-Patriot games.

POLL: NE Cheating - What should be done?

Fine Brady $100,000 and change the rule so that only officials handle the ball. Do away with "ball boys." -
Richard Sherman confirms what we all knew
mountainwampus replied to Golden Wheels's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Ed Reed, it was career ending kick. He wasn't the same the following year, hampered by injury and he claimed that the kick was the play that caused it. -
Richard Sherman confirms what we all knew

Time to pile it on. Here's Brady going ballistic after a clean sack on 3rd & 16. Solder and Browner accost some Raven defenders (Pats do this after every failed 3rd down conversion, hoping for a retaliation penalty, which they usually get), then Brady tries to get involved, gets eye poked, Brady B word-fest ensues. -
Everyone wondering why the refs didn't notice the deflated balls. Isn't it obvious? They are accomplices! They allowed Pats to do just about anything in that game. No brainer calls like false starts were ignored, so of course they ignore the soft balls. The instant Colts intercepted, the cat was out of the bag.

Can Lee really help make EJ a quality NFL QB?
mountainwampus replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a quality NFL QB is going to need to have great eyes. Eyes that are quick and have excellent peripheral, awareness of the entire field. EJ has slow eyes with tunnel vision. I don't care how great his arm is or how sound his mechanics are, his eyes are awful. Can you coach up and improve eyes? My guess is no. -
Bring Back the Red Helmets!
mountainwampus replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NFL has that rule against throwback unis using different helmets. Only swapping logos is allowed. The white helmet allows us to get the standing Buffalo throwback helmet, so it's worth it being white. I hope the Jaguars get something new. -
Rex on EJ: "I'd like to see him use his legs more."
mountainwampus replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
EJ is mobile but he's not a running QB. It's just not going to happen. Just because his 40 time was fast doesn't mean he has any ball carrying skills or that he can take a hit. -
Players who belong on the Wall of Fame
mountainwampus replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nate Odomes. He never got much recognition but he was great! He had many big plays in the comeback game and throughout the early 90's. He always seemed to get an INT when we really needed it. -
My biggest issue with roster moves was taking all the experience out of the WR corps. I think this could've been a playoff year if all our WRs weren't so inexperienced. I didn't see any of them run any hot routes when Orton was under fire, (except Chandler). One of the biggest complaints on Watkins' scout report was that he didn't run a lot of routes in college, catching most of his passes near the LOS. Seemed that not having Stevie or Williams out there is what killed us. The route running was amateurish. I don't think Hogan is nearly as good as Doug did. Also, everyone knows Bryce Brown had a fumble problem.

[closed]Dark Horse QB for Bills to look at
mountainwampus replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bring back Fitz. Remember how everyone used to complain he was padding his stats with those huge gains on dump offs to Spiller? We need to start complaining about that again. -
I see no proof of improved talent on this roster. Maybe if we are talking about improved talent of the D-line, I'd credit Nix for convincing Mario to come to town and grabbing Dareus was a decent move, the trading of Sheppard for Hughes was freaking brilliant (was that Nix's move?) though Marv Levy drafted Kyle, which is one of the best draft picks of the decade. Yet Marv whiffed on so many other players. I don't know what Whaley has done right, if anything.

Crazy Fred Jackson Statistic
mountainwampus replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the product of a very unsophisticated offense, that runs the same plays and routes over and over again. It's been screen passes and routes to the flat, nothing else for RBs. Spiller is especially hurt by the simple-minded use of RBs in the passing game. -
Out of all the past 2 years of rookie QBs, he's probably the general consensus as the best one. The whispers around the league are that he's the hardest working guy on the team and does and says all the right things. He could easily net a high 1st round pick in a trade based on what he's shown (not that Oakland would let him go for that.) Meanwhile, what is EJ worth? My impression is nothing. Perhaps EJ should start vs Pats and hopefully show that he's worth at least a late round pick? Then fire everyone.

I don't think Hackett has the aptitude to know how to properly use a FB, but some other team might want to give him a look. Great blocker with deceptive speed.

Time to label Marquise Goodwin a BUST!
mountainwampus replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Goodwin is not particularly awful, as TJ was. Yes, it's evident that he's not durable, but he doesn't hurt the team by being injured as much as TJ did by being healthy, performing badly week after week. -
Wired For Sound: Sammy Watkins
mountainwampus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't agree that 6'1" is any better than 5'10" for a WR. 6'1" is no mans land. It's too lanky to be durable, too short to be uncoverable. This is not hindsight. I was against drafting Sammy long before the draft (my belief was Benjamin had the best chance of saving EJ from busting). Whatever metrics the scouts followed to value Sammy twice as high as Bechham was flawed, plain and simple. -
F-ing JP , should of, could of, would of...
mountainwampus replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but Green Bay is the reason we traded up to get Losman. The speculation was that Green Bay worked him out and liked him, but the pre-draft special I watched that morning showed one analysts opinion, that Losman "is more immature than my 11 year old daughter" and there's "no chance he'll go in the 1st round." Turns out, the Bills fell for it. Green Bay had no intention of even drafting a QB that year! Of course Losman may have been an option as a 2nd rounder, but that trade up was beyond stupid. -
Give us your overall impression of Sammy Watkins
mountainwampus replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Overall, I'm disappointed. The passing game is just bad and Sammy hasn't shown a whole lot of tools to save it. Seems that he wasn't the most NFL ready of the 2014 WR class. I envy the teams who only spent one draft pick to draft immediate superstars like Beckham, Benjamin, Evans and Cooks. -
Pack Bills Predicion; Please include score
mountainwampus replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rodgers will have his worst game of the season. GB will still win but only because of a nullified strip sack return for a TD by a ref who never heard the tuck rule got eliminated. Packers 24, Bills 20 -
Marrone is just a casual spectator on game day. He only knows basics like: 4th down is the punting down. I haven't seen any situational awareness out of him. He doesn't deserve defense this good if he doesn't even notice they aren't on the field or know why they're not. Same thing happened vs Pats when Mario and Hughes were benched as the Pats ran away with the game.
-
Deactivate Gay now. I'm not impressed with settling for all the touchbacks. Seems like the Bills have some above average gunners, especially Easley, and should be kicking high & shorter, pinning teams inside the 20. How convenient for Marrone that MW is injured, as we all know he wouldn't see the field even if healthy.

How will you react to a blowout?
mountainwampus replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If our front 4 can get to Manning, it will be a close game. This is likely the sackiest D he's ever faced and he's among the most sackable QB's in the league. As long as the refs leave us alone for once, it should be closer than expected. If the D can force some turnovers, like they always do, we may even win.
