Refs named for the Super Bowl
mountainwampus replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, I had no problem with it not being a flag, I'm only pointing it out now with the hope that the Pats* don't draw calls like that in the same situation. I'm also hoping that Brady gets hit the way Alex Smith did without a 15 yard flag. He deserves it for bashing Buffalo hotels! -

It's hard to say if this crew will be any good. Although, there better not be any BS "no touching Brady" calls. He officiated the 49ers/Saints game. There was a play where Alex Smith was sacked and fumbled but it could have been a 15 yard personal foul. He was hit square in the helmet, by the defenders helmet. Come to think of it, Donte Whitner's forced fumble by the goal line was also a helmet-to-helmet hit, so each team got one. All in all, I think the officiating was fair in that game. -
Ranking the Top 40 NFL Quarterbacks . . .
mountainwampus replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone seems to think Sanchez is good based on a couple playoff wins. I think he is a bad QB on a very strong team. Apparently, a few anonymous Jets think the same thing. -
mid level Free Agents

Bryan Scott is important. He has won us games, always does whatever is asked of him, and wouldn't command much $$$. -
An example as to why politics suck

Ron Paul is our only hope -
Just watch for BS holding calls and illegal contact calls on 3rd down. This is the easiest way for a ref to fix a game. And, as usual, they will let the Pats* take repeated cheap shots after the whistle, taunt while running into endzone, catching balls off the ground, etc... On Monday, I will have a full rundown of how the refs favored the Pats*, regardless of who wins.

Stevie to put end to TD displays
mountainwampus replied to SKRAAPY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've never seen an ego like this before. Every time he opens up his mouth it gets worse. It's not just the celebrations. It's his values. He only values himself. He only celebrates to make a name for himself. He only celebrates BY himself. Has anyone ever seen him high-five a teammate?? Maybe he has, but usually I see him blow off teammates holding their hands up. All he worries about are HIS stats and what to post on Twitter. Sorry, but I hope they let him walk. $7.5 mil can be spent better elsewhere. -
Draft picks at pro bowl
mountainwampus replied to Don't stop billievein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are still very, very weak links at OLB. Those guys are so pathetic that Dareus can't help them, even being double-teamed most of the time. Replace those guys and we'll be looking at an average run-D in 2012!!! -

Dareus will be in the Pro Bowl next year. It's all good. -
Tim Donaghy, former disgraced NBA ref, stated that there were some games in which he couldn't pull enough fake calls out of his ass to change the outcome, much to the dismay of the Mob. Let's face it, the majority of NFL games can be fixed with 1 or 2 calls, but if Tebow's involved, you'll usually need a miracle.

It's definitely possible, although I hate the Jets and Dolphins just as much, and I never seem to notice a bunch of shady calls with them. With the Pats, it always seem to be a failed 3rd down or an INT that gets turned into an extended scoring drive. In all fairness, I can think of ONE play, earlier this season against the Bills. Fitzy threw it up for grabs to Nelson in the endzone. It was an easy INT for the Pats, but a pass interference flag made it first and goal for the Bills. Even though it appeared to be a fair call, I was shocked they would call that against the Pats!! That call was probably why we won that one.

I DO accept that they are an excellent team. It's been a decade of a lot of winning for them. It's also been a decade in which they were CAUGHT cheating. It's also been a decade of them winning MANY games because of questionable calls. Even an excellent team needs a little help sometimes. I'm not the only one that notices their serial favoritism with Refs.

Yet, it was only called ONCE in that game despite a lot of contact between WRs and DBs on both sides. That much contact occurs on 90% of all NFL snaps. Also, the INT had nothing to do with contact, it was just bad recieving. I don't know. I must just be biased and bitter. I hate Brady. Sorry. Thought it was Edelman. Thanks for correcting and agreeing For someone known for having the best hands, Welker sure does pop a lot of balls into the air.

So, what did we see yesterday?
mountainwampus replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both games were close. I think O and D for all 4 teams was good, though the 49ers and Ravens D was stellar. In the end it came down to preferential treatment by the refs that gave it to the Pats. Mistakes by the punt returner gave it to the Giants. I think the better teams lost and I still believe that Defense wins chamionships. -

The better teams lost yesterday. The Ravens lost because Kraft pays the Refs. The 49ers lost because they had a back-up punt returner. -
I feel like the Pats were outplayed. The Ravens were outRef'd. The refs used a systematic approach to help the Pats whenever they needed it. That INT would've killed the pats momentum. Instead they got 3 points. If the illegal contact was real, the flag should've come immediately, not 2 seconds later after an INT (you can see the flag come late in the replay)... I just can't let it go. We've lost too many times to the Pats on similar shady calls. Remember "Just give it to him" ?? (early 2000's) when the Bills left the field early in protest. And too many to count since.

We've all seen this before: Something bad happens to the Pats. But wait, there's a flag!! 1st and 10 Patriots! The Illegal contact penalty on Webb that nullified Pollards INT was absolute BS. In the replay, you can see Edelman crash into Webb, push off, get in perfect position for the ball with seperation (which was throw perfectly at his hands). Then he failed to make the easy catch. He pops it up for and easy INT, and that's when the flag came out- AFTER the INT. But how can there be a flag when the reciever wasn't held up and was in perfect position to make the catch?? There is light contact between DBs and WRs like that on every play. The Patriots own the refs. Does anyone still doubt that NFL refs, being the lowest paid refs of any pro sport, aren't being manipulated by outside influences?

upshaw is safer than reiff
mountainwampus replied to brianhawkeye2012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say Upshaw is a safer pick than just about anyone. -
Oh really? Remember how they lost last years divisional playoff game with that fake onside kick, then Bellicheat blamed Chung for the call? Sounds more like a coaching fail. I know his record using cheats in the postseason is very good, but his record without cheats is very poor.

[closed]Saved by Vernon Davis...
mountainwampus replied to Turbosrrgood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whitner isn't so bad. Never liked him as a Bill, though, I thought he had a great game despite looking foolish on a couple plays. The real story is how good Sproles, Graham and Vernon Davis are. Those guys are scary good.
