  1. I once the 5th year option on Woods. He can make diving catches and catches in traffic. He made a few brutal plays already this season (aggressive run blocks, ST tackles, punched Gilmore in practice) while staying healthy. He plays with heart and I see him actually sprinting after the interceptor while Sammy just jogs and lets someone else handle it. Even if he's not cut out to be a #1, he's still my favorite WR on the team.
  2. I'll fly a sign. I agree 100%. Every time he opens his mouth it's delusional. He was propping up TJ Graham for 2 years. Took credit for EJ. Gloated that his only problem was being "too perfect." Insisted we were in "win now" mode. Whiffed on the QB. Over drafted his WR. Overpaid his RB. Cut all the value players with leadership roles. This is not the formula for success.
  3. Incognito, Schmidt, Sanborn and Marcus Easley.
  4. Thad threw him a bad pass once and he dropped it. So, do we give wideouts a single chance?
  5. Gotta agree. I have no idea what Easley amounts to as a WR, but I do know that he's one of the best players I've ever seen when he covers kicks (since Tasker). It's notable that in preseason he was diving for catches. Doesn't matter if it's against 3rd stringers, a diving catch is a diving catch and he looked spectacular. And Hogan? He has been the least productive WR (since TJ Graham) despite all his chances. Being an elite Lacrosse athlete doesn't necessarily translate into being an elite WR.
  6. Whaley has screwed this team up beyond belief. He wanted to take credit for EJ before we all knew he was a bust, but now all of his apologists are coming out making up BS that Nix was responsible. NO. Whaley said "I set up the board" on the day EJ was drafted. Picking Watkins was purely selfish. Whaley wanted to trade away a pick he probably wouldn't get to use (as he should have been fired) so he chose the only player he felt could salvage his previous QB bust pick, and he chose poorly.
  7. Give Woods a chance. He's been making lots of unsung hero plays this season. Diving catch for TD vs Pats. Double pancake block to spring Tyrod's TD and superb punt coverage to pin back the Titans. He plays super physical and stays healthy. He might be the best possession receiver on the roster. We need more wideouts like Woods and less of them like... those who are always injured.
  8. Woods was a great pick. He always gives his all. Not just when targeted, but making blocks and tackles too. He's more valuable than Sammy because he's a team player, and he's built for the brutality of football.
  9. I don't see any problem here. The commentators were incorrect to compare Bradham's tackle to Tyrod's horse collar. The replay showed Tyrod being taken down by his nameplate, while Bradham had a grip on Mariotta's number, about 10" lower on the jersey. Is a horse collar tackle a finable offense? Seems like they happen all the time and I never hear about fines.
  10. Brandon Marshall stated that the best QB he ever played with was KYLE ORTON. So what's Sammy's excuse?
  11. This is an ego problem. Calling for targets after his last target was popped up to end the game with an INT. I see nobody-WRs making that catch week after week while taking hits. Sammy couldn't catch it even without defensive presence. Bad timing IMO. Make a play and STFU. Tyrod made more broken tackles on plays last week than Sammy has his entire career. Praise needs to end until he shows something. Till then, he's just another guy. (IMHO, that's all he'll ever be: Lee Evans type and quality). There's nothing indicating him as an elite WR. Show me a play. The volley catch? Mediocre.
  12. Blame the coach who grabbed a new guy to kickoff right before the game. Cundiff probably approached the ball slower than Easley was used to. Gay charges up and just boots it. Cundiff looked hesitant.
  13. When Johnson was competing with Gabbert for the 49ers back-up job, he seemed like the clear winner of the battle, but they went with Gabbert anyway. He's more of a run-first QB than a pocket passer. A lesser version of Tyrod.
  14. This is what happens when a Brady fumble gets batted.
  15. Earlier in this game, Stafford put a pass directly on Megatron's hands. It was only not caught due to Cary Williams having his hand hooked on Calvin's shoulder to prevent him from raising his arm enough to catch it. The most blatant, obvious pass interference spot foul example you can find, but there wasn't even a discussion. Then, as soon as Lions made a rare 1st down pickup on a run, there was a very very soft "holding" call (the kind you can spot on ANY play) that brought it back. They KNOW what they're doing. These are FREE TURNOVERS!!! Picking that flag up last year vs the anointed Cowboys and calling it face-gaurding. Disallowing all those TDs by Johnson and then only changing the rule after it happened to Dez once. The Jim Schwartz rule on Thanksgiving a few years ago where they refused to review a false scoring play. It's utter BS. The league clearly doesn't want Detroit involved in playoff games. They only care about generating profits. Kraft works with Viacom, the people who bid on the broadcast rights. Jerry Jones and Kraft also have a huge stake in Fan Duel. What kind of respectable sports league would allow 2 owners to invest in gambling of said sport?
  16. I feel like Taylor never really had to sprint in that game. 18.88 mph is his jogging speed.
  17. No more excuses for Sammy Watkins. He's not playing well. He looked shaky on every target except the TD. Catching a high pass is something NFL WRs have to do. It's part of the job.
  18. Rex has some experience with Jerome Boger.
  19. "sssssssssssssss" (sound of air deflating)
  20. On one play Tyrod rolls out right and throws to Sammy near the sideline and he seemed to just drop it? Hard to tell from broadcast what happened or if he was in bounds but it was disappointing. Looked like a good throw.
  21. He's the best guard we've had since RG Incognito. Fred Jackson's best career game was running behind his key block vs Jets many years ago.
  22. Frequency-jammergate
  23. Yes, the team has some good players but would we not without Whaley? I'd say we'd have even better players without him and would've been to the playoffs by now without him. Also, he was compliant with a lot of wrong moves under Nix. He was big on TJ Graham and insisted that he was a Mike Wallace 2.0. He stated that the only thing wrong with EJ is that he's too perfect. He thinks Jackson is too old? Doesn't think Chandler was worth $2M? Has Whaley ever said anything intelligent or even realistic? He makes most of his roster moves out of desperation because he botched the situation a year before. Cassel is the symptom to a problem he failed to correct when he started a season with EJ in "win now" mode. What a freakin joke.
  24. It's all good. At least he can't cheat anymore. The only thing deflating on Sunday will be his passer rating.
  25. I noticed that he was looking very fatigued, but he had just hauled in 6 passes in a row and a few of them were all out superman dives.
