  1. The Bills would never do anything this stupid. Oh wait (somebody has to mention it), the Bills gave up (3) 1's and a 2 for Cornelius Bennett (Bell was a former number 1). Just sayin, that didn't work out so bad. As has been pointed out, picks can be overrated.
  2. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/man-who-went-to-prison-13-years-late-ordered-released/ Sounds like he really did turn his life around, wasn't trying to hide, paid taxes etc.
  3. One of my best friend's older brother was best friends with TG in high school. He actually asked this person to start Paychex with him. Instead, after making a few million in Rochester, he went off to Colorado and started a restaurant with Billy Kidd (famous skier in the 60's). That didn't turn out so well, he returned to Rochester and got back in to the ski business. After TG bought the Sabres he gave his old buddy a job as sales and marketing director. Long story even longer, my friends brother told us that TG's attitude was that the "team" started with him (TG) and ended with Lindy. The players were interchangeable. This attitude resulted in pretty much what everyone else has said. Hopefully since he is getting on in years he'll be more interested in winning than profit but I'm hoping ownership goes a different direction.
  4. Can't ask for much more than this. Seattle had (3) 5th's and (4) 7th's last year. All the 5th's and 2 of the 7th's are still with the team, hope they let the wrong one get away.
  5. Makes some of the stuff that goes on at the Ralph seem pretty tame
  6. Pretty hard to miss the playoffs for 15 years if you've drafted well...
  7. Drink beer at O'loughlin's until approx. 9:30 PM, look dumbfounded when we draft a running back. Invariably there will be a graduate from whatever college the running back is from who will try to assure me that this is the best pick ever. Then I'll stumble home mumbling something undecipherable...
  8. Ginn was no Ginn when he was drafted number 9 overall. Watkins is slightly bigger, slightly slower. I'm just saying that Watkins' measurables are closer to Ginn's than to Megatron's, I don't see WR as a need worthy of giving up a second round pick when we've already spent our 6th on wide receiver and we have a lot of speed at the position.
  9. Haven't read through 13 pages of responses but I see Watkins as more of a Ted Ginn Jr than a Calvin Johnson, so I'm against trading up for him. With Woods, SJ, Goodwin, Bardin, and Williams already on the roster not to mention Graham and Kaufmann (who may end up at tight end if he really is 245) I really think we have bigger needs then WR and can do pretty good in the mid rounds if the coaches feel it is still a need. Really don't want to give up a second round pick to land Watkins.
  10. I'm pretty sure one of the mock drafts at TBD will prove to be the best and one will also prove to be the worst.
  11. No but the mock draft scenarios have been done to death and we're just killing time until next Thursday.
  12. The police will probably face some backlash, but what are they supposed to do? Crab is obviously a big Seminole booster.

  19. Final day cut of the Browns last year, free agent now. With a deep WR class his NFL day likely over
  20. The start of spring used to be great, 3 weeks of March Madness followed by Masters week, a week off and then the draft. A couple months off from football then anticipation builds as training camp nears. Now the NFL wants to be involved in every month as well as grow international venues. I can see a time when fans become saturated from all the marketing and interest fades.
  21. The plane forced the hole to be closed for the day, so the obstruction rule is not relevant. For posting purposes, since the hole could not be played, you should post for that hole what your handicap would dictate you should get on it. From the middle and back tees the 17th is the #1 handicap hole at this course and is a par 5. Therefor, those with course handicaps of 1 through 18 should assume boggy and take a 6. Those with course handicaps of 19-36 should assume double-boggy and take 7. Those with course handicaps over 36 should, of course, stick to miniature golf (or at least tee off after me)

  24. The OP's question was at the time of the pick...speaking for myself, with Freddie and Lynch on the roster, and just a few years removed from drafting McGahee in the 1st while Travis Henry was playing well, the CJ pick just left me scratching my head. If memory serves, Bulaga was being widely discussed as the probable pick. Glad we went with CJ in retrospect.
  25. Not that it wasn't great to land him in the second round, but Cowart was drafted in 1998 After watching the QB skills competition at the 2013 superbowl, then listening to him being interviewed, I was thrilled we ended up with EJ. Almost as happy to land Woods in the second.
