  1. Immediately thought of this when I saw the topic. Loved it. "Bears derive their name from a football team in Chicago"
  2. Yeah he was going to be my pick, since there was only two pages thought I would check to see if anyone else had picked him. If memory serves, we signed Panos, free agent from the Bears. Bears signed Ruben Brown, free agent from the Bills. Basically a trade of guards. Thought he was going to be really good.
  3. As I was reading this I remembered a college friend (back in the 70's) that was in constant pain after an operation. After a couple weeks they finally did an x-ray and saw a clamp hadn't been removed.
  4. Yup. From Notre Dame. Technically he resigned, but it was because the lies on his resume were discovered. So the answer to the OP's question is yes. http://www.nytimes.com/2001/12/15/sports/notre-dame-coach-resigns-after-5-days-and-a-few-lies.html
  5. Eric has been a class act ever since arriving in Buffalo. Hope something can be worked out.
  6. Hopefully the bars will start to clear out by then.
  7. My bad...I stand corrected
  8. Murph discussed this on his show. Said they met and spent time at the combine a few years ago. They spent the week calling each other Murph. But they're not related.
  9. Can't imagine he's in it for the money at this point. Hope the gets his super bowl ring!!
  10. I do one thing at a time, I to it very well, and then I move on. Go to 2:05
  11. add 2010 Tim Tebow to the list. Guess he would be a bust despite over 50% win record
  12. Don't forget Marcell Dareus for a fifth rounder...
  13. Has anyone besides Ditka in the "I'll trade the entire draft for Ricky Williams" deal ever stated an intent to move up before the deal was done?
  14. In the same manner as Ronnie Harmon will always be remembered for the drop, Orton will always be remembered for the slide.
  15. He said the same thing about EJ DRAFT ANALYSIS: "You can mold him into something really special. He's raw, but he's that piece of clay where you take him and you can turn him to what you want." -- Mike Mayock http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/ej-manuel?id=2539228
  16. BB isn't trading to a team in the division. The current regime isn't trading assets for someone that can't stay on the field. Part of the reason they moved on from Watkins and Gaines.
  17. Was hoping to take him in the first but was psyched when McKelvin fell to us (most mocks had him going 5-10) and then got Hardy in the second. If memory serves no WR's went in the first...didn't check draft history to confirm though. Ok, just checked. No WR's in the first but 10 went in the second. But yea what a bad draft.
  18. It's probably the carbonation, not the beer. Maybe she can try wine instead.
  19. Not sure I agree. At least 60 people showed up for my father's 100th last month. But you are correct about the age, only a couple in their 90's. Thankfully I get a 17 month break before I have to plan Mom's 100th.
  20. This is the type of story the OP was looking for. Funny how these type of things stay with us. Nice memory.
  21. That's good parenting on your mother's part. My fraternal grandparents were from Poland as well.
  22. I gave up drinking and coffee for 33 days from late-November to late December, which included 3 Bills home-game tailgates. I'll give up drinking at least 12 days during lent to make up the difference. Not committing to which 12. Not giving up coffee again if I can help it.
  23. So, 3 pages and no one has pointed out that Foles was drafted in the third and Brady the sixth? Guess we shouldn't draft QB's before round 3?
  24. Golf tournament. Sadly, they've done away with the Saturday Caddie races, always one of the highlights of the PGA season. Wednesday must have been the pro-Am.
