Nice article John. Remember going to college in the 70's...everyone would fire up a joint in their dorm room, then file down to the TV lounge at 11:00 PM for an hour of TZ. Unlike Night Gallery, which was always scary with a bad ending for the protagonist, one never knew if TZ endings would be good or bad, though if I recall correctly they were more often good. PS you left off Jack Klugman from your list of actors, who appeared in 4 episodes, tied for the most appearances with Burgess Meredith.

So are you sure it is kidney stones? I had all the symptoms you describe and was sure it was stones. After two days in the hospital and 3 tests later it was determined that I had a kink in my kidney causing hydronephrosis. Like a kink in a garden hose, it passed water just fine for a long time (in my case 6 decades) but if it bends enough it will cause a blockage. Had to have the stent inserted in to my kidney. The removal of said stent is supposed to take 30 seconds of, well lets just say it will be the worst part. It took the urologist 4 minutes at which point he decided he couldn't take it out in the office and would need to put me under general anesthesia and remove it in the operating room. Hope things go smoother for you than they did for me.

The Shur Fine I frequent in Irondequoit used to be IGA. I think when some of the smaller chains like Super Duper and IGA dissolved many the owners took on the Shur Fine products. So, not directly related but more a natural evolution.

I read an article that appeared in the Miami paper before the Bills-Dolphins game in December 1990. The winner of that game was going to get home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The gist of the article was that Bills fans were better, and since the game is for the fans, they should win. It points out Miami could barely get 50,000 fans on a 75 degree day on Nov. 4 vs the Cardinals. A week later against the same team, in 25 degree weather, Buffalo had 75,000. The funny part of the article was "by 9:00 AM they'll be half drunk. By 10:00 AM they'll be burning Miami fans' coats and hats. THEIR HUSBANDS ARE EVEN WORSE!" However, if you go to Maple Heights HS Wiki page it shows him as a notable alumni and a 1968 graduate, making 70 more likely. Careful what you wish for my friend. I've seen 100, not sure I want to make it. 7 years ago I didn't know what hoyer lifts, catheters, or UTI's were, let alone the difference between chucks and briefs. Mom still has quality though, as you say, decent health is the key. 95 would have been just fine for Dad, last 5 years of his life aged me 25.
