  1. almost 3 pages and no link to Jim Mora? It's time...never gets old (OP can replace playoffs with super bowl)
  2. I'll be disappointed if we are drafting in the top 10 again next year
  3. Didn't have as many yards as Fant or Hockenson, but had more receptions than either.
  4. Like to see Singletary pan out, get something for McCoy prior to trade deadline when a contender whose running back just got injured will overpay.
  5. More like I've learned to be patient and manage expectations for these things. Let's take a trip down memory lane and look at the 2016 draft: 1) Shaq Lawson: Then - was psyched he fell to us at #19, but things fell just right with the first 18 picks. Thought he was top 10 talent (Sound anything like things falling just right with the first 8 picks for Oliver to fall to us at 9 this year when many thought he was a top 5 talent?) 3 years later, book may still be out but at best he's been a disappointment. At least he's still on the team, only one from this draft that can say that. 2) Reggie Ragland: Then - unbelievable we got him at #41, was hoping he would still be available to us in the first (had to trade away assets to move up a few spots and nab him at 41, sound similar to Cody Ford at 38 this year?) 3 years later, well, we did use the pick we got for him as part of the deal to move back in to the third for Knox, but I'm sure Beane would have figured a way to get back there without the pick. Did he ever play a down for the Bills? Wish him well, but certainly a huge disappointment. 3) Adolphus Washington: Then - another value pick, lucky to get him this late in the third. Our defense will be great this year!! 3 years later - we can have him if we want him, no one else does. 4) Cardale Jones - Then: He'll be able to learn for a year or two under Taylor, then we have our franchise quarterback with a fourth round pick! 3 years later, know we got a conditional pick for him, maybe one this year's 7th rounders? Not sure. Once again, huge disappointment. 5) Jonathan Williams, 6) Kolby Listenbee, 6) Kevon Seymour - Didn't expect much from these three, maybe a little from Williams. Got even less. 3 years later, Seymour is still in the league, the guy we traded him for (Kaelin Clay) is not. So the overall grade I would have given for this draft would have been B+ in 2016. Three years later, a generous D. In fairness that was the last Whaley/Ryan draft, 2017 seems much better at this point, but I'll give my final grade on it next year.
  6. Thanks for posting. Hope the analysis is right. I'll give mine in three years.
  7. They didn't like our third round picks, or, I suspect, the fact that we gave up two fourth's for one of them.
  8. For what it's worth. We get above average, so do Jets and Cheats. I'll follow up in three years with my grade! https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-2019-nfl-draft-grades-for-all-32-teams
  9. Moved up to 38 to get him. Gave the pick we received for McCarron back to Oakland or Los Vegas or whoever they are to move up two spots
  10. My father recently passed away on hospice care, 3 months shy of his 101st birthday. It was his fifth time on hospice. At some point he had to just be breaking his own record for being kicked off of it (what they call graduating.) It's my favorite charity.
  11. I was pretty psyched once the draft got to 7 and Oliver, Allen, and Sweat were all left. Guess Sweat's falling to the bottom of round 1 means not everyone believe's reports about his heart were false.
  12. At least you didn't choke, the last ball had a chance. I have a friend who bowled a 291. Only one way to do that. Collar was getting a bit tight I suspect.
  13. From the link: "Thermal solar, also known as concentrating solar, generates electricity by focusing solar rays to transform a fluid into steam. That steam then turns a turbine to power a generator. These installations can kill birds. Some concentrated solar installations arrange a huge number of mirrors that point to a central tower, and the concentrated solar towers create an incredibly high-heat area that’s dangerous for anything to touch. What's worse, the light beam and surrounding mirrors actually attract birds and the insects they like to eat. The potential harm of this solar power method can be seen at the Ivanpah concentrated solar tower in California. In 2015, Ivanpah killed about seven birds per gigawatt hour of electricity produced...By comparison, the climate change impacts of burning fossil fuels are estimated to kill only one bird per gigawatt hour. Because of this, Audubon opposes any further construction of concentrated solar towers." Re the lake it affect it simply states: "Some developers are adding special patterns to their panels or using other strategies to reduce the risk of crash landings." The benefits outlined in the article are more in the realm of what is done in conjunction with the placement of the panels (planting native plant species around the solar farms for instance) and solar being less disruptive than fossil fuels than any real benefit the panels themselves provide. Back to the OP's question, not saying it is a horrible idea, just that you can't put up a thousand acres of solar panels, say look at this great thing we've done, and call it a day. Rochester does not need another fast ferry.
  14. Well, I can think of a couple issues right off the bat. As you well know I'm sure, Rochester isn't exactly the sunniest place in the country. On average 165 sunny days a year compared to the national average of 205. Why not choose somewhere that has more than average sunshine? Also, solar panel farms can be mistaken for a body of water, not unlike Boise State's football field. Unlike Boise State and actual bodies of water however, some birds require a running start to get airborne, which they can't get on solar panels, leaving them to starve. Finally, it just seems to me like this type of area might be harder to protect from acts of terrorism than traditional power sources. But hey, I'm sure there are positives.
  15. I have this recurring nightmare that Sweat falls to the Patriots because of the heart then sacks Allen 6 times a year.
  16. How many men does it take to do the dishes? None, it's women's work How many men does it take to change a light bulb? None, if your wife can't change it herself she can do the dishes in the dark.
  17. While I agree with everything you say, the rest of the world has earned the right to play the USA's best in basketball as it became clear that our amateurs were not capable of consistently defeating other countries' professionals.
  18. Always been a fan of the Russian women's gymnastics teams
  19. Drafting on the measurables instead of the un (or is it im?)measurables.
  20. If that had happened, the video would have gone viral. And karma for his hit on Tre White would be complete.
  21. Lost in all this is that it was a pretty good bunt.
  22. Well we can't salute ya can't find a flag If that don't suit ya that's a drag School's out for summer
  23. Well, the last of the old all-Williams team just retired, time to start a new one, this time on the offensive side of the ball.
