  1. Racing in the Street by Springsteen never charted but is considered by almost everyone that ranks Springsteen songs to be one of if not his very best.
  2. Hey Andy, did you think violent crimes would go down when you started letting criminals go with a DAT?
  3. Stealing Home, a little known Mark Harmon/Jodi Foster movie from the late 80's. At the beginning, Foster's character has committed suicide and left her ashes to Harmon's character to dispose of. The movie is mostly a flashback of their relationship focusing around baseball and summers at the beach as Harmon grows from child through adolescence to adult. Foster is a few years older than Harmon and was his babysitter/mentor. Harmon struggles to find the appropriate way to dispose of the ashes while being pressured by Foster's parents to do something he knows she would not want. While the plot sounds like a tear jerker it really isn't, the sad stuff all happens before the movie starts.
  4. Most of mine are mentioned above, including the OP's. 3 to add: Field of Dreams, Stealing Home (No baseball fans here? Not surprised no one has mentioned Stealing Home but no mention of Field of Dreams?!?) And one way more recent, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Ending is hilarious (as is really the whole movie!)
  5. Might not be the best movie of all time....then again it might be! What Ex said, RIP BJ, thanks for the childhood memories.
  6. Tried it last nite. It was 8.99 at the liquor store I went to. Was pleasantly surprised that it was drinkable, had bought a few beers along with me as a plan B in case it wasn't. Thanks for the tip.
  7. re why - because I get paper check not direct deposit re slow on uptake - so am I!
  8. Crap, I filed late April, might be Thanksgiving by the time it comes.
  9. Watching this reminded me of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where the vault was set almost 2 inches too low in the preliminaries, resulting in numerous mishaps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxQ0WY6Kt7Q
  10. God doesn't hate him. But after giving him a clear sunny day in Buffalo in November, tripping the corner 15 yards down the field, and putting a perfect spiral in his hands in the end zone, let's just say he's disappointed Stevie didn't catch it.
  11. He was actually offered and turned down the lead role of Benjamin in The Graduate that eventually went to Hoffman
  12. Lonnie should have quit before this play
  13. Out of curiosity, what other times are people supposed to be loud when watching a game?
  14. Good you stopped then...waited until late 50's to stop jogging 5ish miles a day. Pain got so bad I had to use a walker for a few weeks. Now do the low impact ellipticals. Plus walk on the golf course.
  15. I'll give the reds a try. Normally buy in the d$12-$15/bottle range.
  16. Yup...the ability McBeane covets most in a player is availability
  17. Mine was September 17th, 1981 - Special Thursday night presentation of Monday Night Football, Philadelphia at Buffalo.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjroTXtMtIA Couldn't resist linking this scene from strange wilderness...tells you all you need to know about bears
  19. Oops...missed the change of direction when the conversation changed from Pittsburgh to Baltimore. Both well run organizations, the longevity of their coaches being a major reason for their rivalry over the years. At any rate that response has been deleted.
  20. Am I the only one that got a headache trying to figure out who made the announcement about the announcer? Was it the OP or someone else?
  21. Not really once in a lifetime...Rich Gannon never excelled until his mid 30's, Patriots wanted to convert him to running back when drafting him. Not the high pick that Plunkett and Rosen were though but to your point, just takes some people longer for their stars to align. I'm sure there are other examples as well.
  22. Actually if you type correctly, they are separated by an entire hand. B is typed with the left hand, M with the right!
  23. Mine says "potential spam." Like you, until recently when my mom passed (at 101) I simply had to take all calls as it might be something important. When I see the potential spam notification I answer "Hello potential spam;" if it is I then say "goodbye actual spam." But there have been two instances when the calls were something important related to my mother.
