Pizza-purveying personnel pummel pistol-packing-punk
Steve O replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall
Got it. The statute is likely intentionally vague to give all possible advantage to would be victims. And to serve as a warning to would be perpetrators. As mentioned on another post on this thread, hope the kid learns a trade in prison because he isn't cut out for a life of crime. -

The statute leaves a lot to interpretation. At the point where the gun jammed there was no longer imminent danger. Interestingly, that phrase is not used in the statute. However, the "other" did attempt to commit aggravated robbery. He was also attempting to enter unlawfully and with force. Therefore, the presumption is that the use of deadly force was reasonable. In Texas it would be pretty tough to find 12 people to vote guilty given the vagueness of the statute. The owner would stand a pretty good chance of getting off even though the use of deadly force was no longer necessary to prevent imminent danger. At least that's how I'm reading it. Not sure of the point you were trying to make? -

Texas is a stand your ground state. Chances of getting off on self defense are better there than in many other states but as you say, maybe not. -

Guess it's best to find out early that you're not going to make it as a criminal. Hope the kid learns a trade in prison. -

Holy cow the manager beat the crap out of him. Kids lucky the gun jammed or he'd be dead. -
What is inaccurate is to refer to those that illegally cross a sovereign nation's borders as immigrants. When one crosses a sovereign nation's borders illegally, that person is invading the sovereign nation. Therefor, that person is a foreign invader. Since we choose not to defend our borders against foreign invaders, as WNYGUY points out, 100% of them are breaking the law by being here. Only question is how many laws they break.

Scary stories. And people wonder why I don't fly. -
slow motion replay loops of home run throwback forward pass, 13 seconds, and Texans walk off 59 yard field goal🤬 edit: guess we can add Harmon drop and wide right while we're at it.

Trump had no vote. The contents is what killed the border bill. And while we're correcting facts, let's stop trying to soften what invasion is with semantics. When one illegally crosses a sovereign nation's borders, that person is invading it. That makes the person a foreign invader. Calling people asylum seekers doesn't change that. -
He doesn't do much besides sleep right now according to his son. No one lives forever. Only one exception to that rule, and it's been used on me!!

Been in Hospice care since Feb. 2023. Didn't know they let people stay on that long, my father got kicked off hospice 4 times. Died during his fifth. Jimmy has to make it 283 more days to outlive him. Smart money's on the under.

Again, that was 20-30 years ago. Yesterday was the first time I golfed all year without sunscreen, had a sunburn when the round was over. Putting the sunscreen on now before heading to the first tee.

Um...How about suburban Rochester? Rochester weather now is like Maryland was 20 years ago. Past 2 years I've only shoveled 2x per year, all 4 of those I was saying to myself "better do it now before the snow melts." Gave my snow blower to my brother who lives in Tonawanda, he needs it more than I do. Last year golfed right up till Thanksgiving. Many private, semi private, and public courses to choose from. Semi privates are probably the best value. I belong to an entry level private club as well as a men's club at a public course. All 3 of the county owned public courses have private men's clubs with privileges like preferred weekend tee times and 8-10 tournaments a year. $450 you can play all 3 county courses, over 62 you can pay $7 for 9 or $9 for 18 walking. And oh yeah, we have water!! As to North Carolina, just ask my brother who lives in Asheville how he's enjoyed the past 36 hours. At his last check in a couple hours ago he had no power, over 12 inches of rain and it was starting to pick up.

I don't read lips but it sure looks like the lady says "my God" at the end -
How many men does it take to do the dishes? None, that's women's work. How many men does it take to change a light bulb? None, if the wife can't change it herself she can do the dishes in the dark.

Tua’s Broken Dome (now being placed on IR-out at least 4 games)

Having 5 between the ages of 17 and 45 I can vouch for this. No way the 5th would have put me down if it had been the first. -
Hillary: Jail Americans for “posting misinformation”
Steve O replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Let's start with jailing repeat offenders for felonies. Oh wait, that would be racist. We'll just keep giving them DAT's, it's worked so well (in NYS anyways.) -
The winner: Kamala The loser: America What a mess.

That's 4 more than Tua

I have a few divorced friends who would think this is a bargain compared to what it cost them.

Recession is upon us - disastrous economic data
Steve O replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Apparently the "run of the mill, normal type of recession" is what's best.
