  1. 3/4 of the defensive line is going to the Pro Bowl! Has that ever even happened before?! That's just NASTY!!! Congrats all around.
  2. This thread is pathetic and embarrassing.
  3. I live in Maine now, and I am constantly surrounded by Pats fans. While the majority of them are just normal, decent, sports-loving folks, there is a very prominent subset of the most spoiled, arrogant, and obnoxious fans I have ever been around. I don't even go to my local bar to watch the Bills on Sundays anymore because I get trash-talked by aggressively drunk Pats fans. They expect their team to dominate, and when they don't, they pout. Every sports market has these types, but here it's an abnormally high proportion. They really drag the benevolent portion of the fan base down. What's funny is that Mainers are always bagging on "Mass - holes", Boston, and all things related to the Commonwealth, yet they worship the Mass sports teams.
  4. I would much prefer that the Bills face a Pats team that has home-field advantage locked up in week 17. GO PATS!
  5. What has Goodwin done to show that he's such a valuable player? He has had a couple of big plays, but 18 catches for 325 yards in nearly two seasons is not a lot of production. A great guy, and a tremendous athlete, but other receivers offer a lot more value to the position for that level of production.
  6. I agree here. I think there are a lot of fast, undersized edge rushers out there who could have a similar impact if they had the kind of linemates that Hughes has. Dareus, however, is a rare talent. I don't think the Bills can afford to have 3 guys making best-in-class kind of money on the D-line, and as great as he has been this year, I would vote that they let Hughes go if they can't pay everyone.
  7. I don't think there's any way the Bills can afford Mario, Dareus, and Hughes. Sad to say it, but Dareus will probably be the odd man out. He will be in line for a MONSTER contract if he keeps this up, and we already have the Mario contract on the books. It's just the nature of the business. All we can do is enjoy having Dareus as a Bill while it lasts!
  8. Leodis is a hot or cold kind of player. One week he is lights out, the next he is out to lunch. But he's always been a good return man, so overall I would say he's been a net positive for the team.
  9. Embarrassing post.
  10. Gay had that pooch-like kick plus another that didn't quite make it to the goal line. I understand if Carpenter can't get the job done, then you have to have another guy. But if you are going to have a KO specialist, he should be putting every single kickoff through the end zone. It's an uncontested play where accuracy barely matters.
  11. He had surgery around July 20th. If everything goes exceedingly well, the absolute earliest he could be in football shape would be mid-February, and that's only because he's a freakish athlete with access to world-class training. I have blown out both of my ACLs, and I could do quite a few things at 5-6 months, including some non-risky skiing, but it didn't feel remotely "right" for a solid year, and it really takes two years to fully recover.
  12. At the very least, he would have to: Play 3-5 more years at the same level he is at right now. Go to 2-3 more pro bowls, with at least one more All-Pro season. Win 2 or more SB titles during that time. A lot of things would have to work in his favor for all of that to happen.
  13. "Game Manager" is the most overused and inane term in football today. Every QB is a game manager. They run the plays as they are called. Run, throw, whatever. It's not like EJ has some special instructions to limit his pass attempts. It's as annoying as the term "Puck-possession team" is for hockey. Every team is a puck-posession team. If you don't possess the puck, you lose.
  14. No, it's really the 15 years of mediocrity and failure that temper my enthusiasm.
  15. That Old Man Strength is powerful stuff!
  16. I live in Maine, and I can get 24-oz man-cans of Genny Cream at a couple of select locations, but that's it. No 12-packs, cases, bottles, etc. The good news is they are only a buck. I brew my own beer and enjoy the good stuff, but if you're talking about beers that ring in at 50 cents per 12-oz. serving and can be quaffed continuously for an entire Sunday, in my opinion you just can't beat the Screamer.
  17. It's a crying shame that western NYers prefer a Canadian beer for their daily grog when there is a perfectly good macro-swill brewery in their own back yard. Genny Cream Ale is my game-day beer of choice. Silky smooth, with more depth than you get from the rice water coming out of Milwaukee and St. Louis. The most unique and enjoyable brew in the lineup. It breaks my Rochestarian heart that there is not a green can in every hand at the Ralph on Sundays. I find Genny Red Eye to be inoffensive but bland, an ideal stand-in for Labatt Blue. Genny Light is so bland that it actually is offensive to me, but if you are a light beer drinker then it matters not, because they are all the same. And 12 Horse Ale, well, I guess that's an acquired taste. It has always had oily, industrial undertones to me, but some people love it. At least it's different. I'm not saying Genny beers are world-beaters, but they stand up to any mass-produced lager you'll find in the Wegmans walk-in, including the exalted Labatt Blue. They're like the Buffalo Bills of beer - The aren't the best, but they're OURS! Go grab a 30 rack and show some local pride! I have plenty of love for Utica Club.
  18. I doubt this was a "panic move". I have to believe that the FO had been looking for alternatives at #2 QB throughout training camp, considering the way Tuel and Thad were playing. An opportunity to sign someone like Orton doesn't just happen on demand - they had to wait until he was available to them.
  19. For me, it's a toss-up between Schmidt's Gay and Colon Blow.
  20. Ha ha, I used to watch DeNarius tear it up for my alma mater, the mighty Montana State Bobcats. He was a heck of a player. In Division 2.
  21. In 20 years, it will be renamed the Hall of Kiko Alonso.
  22. I lose $20 on this bet EVERY YEAR.
  23. Not that I would ever want it to happen, but if the Bills were to deal a RB to a team that desperately needed a short-term fill-in, Fred would seem to be the more logical choice, no?
