  1. So, what are the odds of hitting on a QB if you never pick one?
  2. I wonder if this is something the FO knew might happen. Might explain why Groy was kept under wraps all season, even when they needed a boost at RG. Hats off to 70 for a great Bills career, and wishing him health and happiness in retirement.
  3. Bills Deep
  4. Hate to point this out, but Doug Marrone has a Bortles-led Jags team one win from the Super Bowl. Not saying he should win, but it would be hard to argue that McDermott can beat that.
  5. Vikings all the way. Their fans deserve it and have suffered enough, and don't we all know what that's like. #2 would be the Eagles for the same reason, except maybe for the "deserve it" part.
  6. I must be getting old. All the stuff people are referencing in this thread feels like it just happened last week.
  7. What's sad is that there are so many legitimate answers to the OP's question.
  8. The ghost of Dick Jauron Christmas past.
  9. Weird, usually Tolbert breaks that open for 30.
  10. I remember Dennis Miller using "Prevent Offense" to describe the scheme of some team that was getting clobbered during his brief tenure on MNF. He was pretty funny; too bad he became a neocon knob.
  11. Completely ignoring the gender aspect, I think both of them have obnoxious broadcasting voices - the tone and the delivery. You have to be smooth, regardless of your natural pitch. There are plenty of women out there who can call a great game and could also do color better than Jay Feely. I also can't stand Spero Dedes with that phony raspy sounding thing he does. It's like he's invoking some kind of Inuit throat-singing. CBS has a few duds in their lineup this year.
  12. Weak call, but I guess you could make the argument that the deep snow makes it much easier to drop the ball right where you want it. It's not going to roll in for a touchback or take a weird bounce the wrong way.
  13. It hasn't happened yet. It's coming right at you on Christmas Eve. The Steelers go on a little skid the next few weeks, allowing the Pats to lock up the #1 seed in the AFC. They are resting their starters week 16. The Bills just need a win to stay alive, and they lay an egg in Foxborough.
  14. Looks like a bit of an optical illusion - If you watch his right leg closely, you can see that it's actually bent enough for him to be pushing off of it. The camera angle makes it look like the right leg is straighter than it really is.
  15. Wow, who would have thought a recent first-team all-pro could be so good at football.
  16. This, plus they were driving those short distances against a D that had to run back out on the field with no time to rest or discuss and refine their game plan, again and again. With a veteran perennial Pro Bowl QB at the helm. INTs are much harder for a team to overcome than 3-and-outs with punts.
  17. I have torn both of my ACLs and have found that weight bearing is not an issue unless you also wreck your articular cartilage and/or meniscus or stretch/damage other ligaments. The ACL gives stability in certain scenarios, but when it is torn there are still 3 major ligaments holding the femur and tibia together, plus the meniscus helping keep things aligned and articular cartilage providing cushioning between the bones. It's trauma to those other elements that would require bracing or non-weight bearing after an ACL tear - but that trauma is very common because of the force required to tear a ligament. I got lucky and I hope KB did too!
  18. If you consider the Chargers scored 30 points off turnovers, then you'll see it's not a stretch at all. And of course the D was bad - they were on the field for the entire first half!
  19. A clean ACL tear generally doesn't warrant crutches or a brace. There's a little swelling and occasional instability in certain situations, but walking and even running in a straight line (once the initial swelling goes down) feels pretty normal. Unless you tear a bunch of other stuff at the same time... The positive sign here, hopefully, is that the lack of crutches/brace means he probably doesn't have a lot of collateral damage to cartilage or other ligaments. If he tore the ACL, it was probably a clean one and he'll recover 100% with the kind of rehab he will have access to. Here's hoping it's not that, though!
  20. Peterman may be on a short leash. If he lays an egg, Tyrod will be right there, ready to go.
  21. A stronger arm equals a faster release. If you watch Fitzpatrick make a long throw or even a short dart, he has to rooster his arm back and wind up his whole body first. A guy like Stafford can throw a rope with a quick flick. There's not a lot of difference in speed and trajectory once the ball leaves their respective hands - it's what it takes to generate that velocity that really counts. Ha ha, I just noticed that my comment was corrected to say "rooster" instead of "c0ck"! No dirty intent, I was using it as a harmless verb!
  22. Very small sample size, but I think it's enough to give him a shot when you consider how bad Tyrod has been at throwing the football. I don't necessarily expect the outcome to be any better with Peterman over the course of a whole game, but I think we have seen enough to know that it's definitely not getting any better with Taylor. On the negative side, Peterman's throws seem to lack "zip" - I think he has a Fitzpatrick arm, maybe a tiny bit stronger. But the important thing is that he's willing and able to throw to WRs downfield, and quickly.
  23. They were at home and had ten days between games, the last one being an embarrassing blowout - and they still laid an egg. I don't know how they recover from this one .
