9/15 Bills at Giants - 2nd half thread
skibum replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh, Josh, Josh, Josh... -
So, when do they show the Wide Right clip? I'm guessing 3rd quarter, during a coach's challenge.
-
I think that regardless of how good your defense is, you try to score a touchdown on every offensive posession. Run, pass, what difference does it make unless you're actually behind on the scoreboard and are forced to take more chances and pass more. It's not like if you're up 10-7 you're going to take your foot off the gas because you have a great defense. In the NFL, you can't let up on offense until you have a sizable cushion of points late in the game.

AB will not be on exempt list per shefty
skibum replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How does the NFL have the right to interview his accuser? They don't have any legal jurisdiction. Not sticking up for AB at all here, but this kind of stuff just blows my mind - that the NFL can conduct its own investigation of something as serious as rape, and that apparently because this is a civil case, they could go with whatever conclusion they want. And why a civil suit; why aren't the police involved? This whole thing is so bizarre to me. It's like law and order goes out the window when a famous athlete is involved. -
The spleen thing is no joke. I lost a dear friend in an otherwise routine ski fall, because he was misdiagnosed and had no idea his spleen was enormous. He bled out in the ambulance, probably 15 minutes after the fall. Darnold could be out a while, regardless of whether or not he’s fatigued.

I have a feeling Saquon will have a big day with lots of 10-20 yard runs, but I think the Bills win regardless.

What I keep hearing Bills players repeating

I have also heard a lot about execution, making adjustments, and taking it one game at a time. I wonder if it's all connected? -
Tony Gonzalez turned down trade to the Bills?

Can ya blame him? -
Jordan Mills Released by Miami

Good on him. I'm sure he's glad to be out of Miami and gainfully employed. -
Jordan Poyer - underpaid? What would you offer?
skibum replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's going to be hard to keep, but hopefully he's open to an extension at a solid but non-ludicrous pay rate. He will likely garner a lot of demand on the free agent market in 2021, and I'm sure his agent knows it. It's a good thing the Bills have a bunch of cap space in the coming year; they're going to need it to keep this D together! -
He still tends to throw directly at the receiver's chest, instead of leading him. The receiver has to either adjust or simply stop running to make the catch. Even the TD to Brown was like that. The announcer put a nice spin on it, as if Allen put it there so Brown could duck under the DB, but really it was just a mediocre placement. Good enough for a completion, but usually not enough to turn a big play.

It's easy for us to say it was a bad tackle, but sometimes even the strongest NFL defenders don't have the proper leverage at the moment of contact to make a good tackle, even when it looks like they should have had it on TV. Bell got the first down because he's a BMF.

John Brown, 7 Catches, 123 yards, TD. Good stuff.

That was really nice to see. You gotta love when the new guys perform right out of the gate. Also, Zay didn't get a lot of throws his way, but he made good grabs when called upon. Beasley had two ugly drops, but I'm sure he'll bounce back. Also great to see the 6th round TE making plays, and Singletary doing damage catching out of the backfield. All in all, this is looking like a really solid group of pass options. Hopefully Allen can dial it in better in the weeks to come. -
5 questions answered vs the Jets
skibum replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More than anything else, I think the question of "Are the Jets for real?" was answered. They had three players doing everything - Bell, Crowder, and Moseley, and when Moseley got hurt, it was all over. They had countless opportunities to bury Buffalo, and couldn't get it done. That's a fragile team. -
So far, he doesn't look a whole lot different from last year. The good and the bad. Still thinking run first on a lot of 3rd downs but usually making good on it, still generally not hitting guys in stride, still winning purely on will and guts, but not showing a lot of touch on throws. He was lucky he didn't have 2-3 more picks. Nice win, but there was a lot of ugly in that game.

9/8 Bills at Jets Second Half Thread
skibum replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The passing offense still looks sketchy, the running game was very good, Special teams was good, Defense was incredible. Allen looked pretty much exactly the same as last year, to my eyes anyway. Glad they won, but yikes, the kid still has along way to go. You can't win every game on guts alone. -

Allen was just one turnover shy of a Peterman Hat Trick in the first half. Can he get all 5 in the second half? Let’s find out! -

Antonio Brown RELEASED, signed by PATS
skibum replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All around, the most dispicable personnel move I can remember. The guy just quits on teams until he finally goes to the reigning Super Bowl champions. And I thought I could not possibly hate the Patriots any more! This is insane!!! -
It's the rare occasion when the game is televised in my market, so I'll be enjoying the game at home on the big LCD, drinking good beer on the cheap and eating connoisseur nachos.

Should Barkley be the holder on kicks?
skibum replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whatever it takes to get Saquon on this team. -
Great question. It's actually not important at all. I would be surprised if they made any effort to win it. Why bother when you still have 15 more games to go? After all, someone could get hurt out there. Thanks for asking!
