Would you make a trade for Alshon Jeffery?
skibum replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why make trades when you have $82 million in cap space to work with? Just buy free agents and keep your existing assets. -
AC/DC Petition to play Superbowl halftime.
skibum replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, but they're too dang old. This would have been great 20-30 years ago, even better during the Bon Scott era, but these guys are ancient. Malcom Young died from dementia, and Phill Rudd is totally washed up after a meth-addled murder-for-hire incident. The last time I saw them perform, it was with an obese Axl Rose singing, seated on a throne with a broken leg. -

Rome is such a tool. I remember watching that when it first aired (live? Not sure). That was the last time I ever watched his garbage douche-fest show. The original troll. -

Pro Bowl Player Poll--Worst City to Travel To
skibum replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They say about a lot of cities, "it's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there". Buffalo is pretty much the opposite of that. -
I have always been amazed that he can function at such a high level with the condition he's in. It has to be hard just standing up for a whole game. I'm not busting on him, I'm just saying that physically, the guy is in rough shape - morbidly obese. Yet he kicks arse at one of the world's most demanding and stressful jobs.

Off-season: Expected and Surprise Cuts
skibum replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We don't even know who's going to be in training camp yet, and we're talking about surprise cuts. -
It will be interesting to see how this translates to free agency. McBeane may decide they would rather overpay guys like Shaq and Phillps in order to preserve continuity of leadership as well as scheme. If you think about it, that continuity does have value beyond what a new guy could bring at a lower salary. You might save a few million bringing in guys with lower price tags, but then you're rolling the dice on whether or not they fit. The same could be said of marquis free agents, too - they don't always pan out. You know exactly what you're getting from the guys on your team, and that's worth a lot.

Devin Singletary Highlight Reel
skibum replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like this highlight reel missed some of his better runs. He had great blocking on most of these plays; I thought his best plays were the ones where he broke through contact and got yards that weren't supposed to happen. -

The Pats With or With Out the G.O.A.T You Choose .
skibum replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn’t matter. Nothing can ever erase the generation of beat-downs that Brady has delivered to the Bills over the years. All you can do is tip your hat and thank God it’s over. -
There may be other opportunities out there for him yet. But either way, I doubt some New Guy is going to come in at OC and suddenly it starts raining touchdowns in Buffalo. Another year of Daboll is probably no better or worse than the other options that may be available. What they really need are better pass catchers, a healthy O-line, and some growth from the QB.

OK, I don't venture over there much.

If you are from Western New York, and you like to rock, there's little doubt you have air-drummed 'Tom Sawyer' in your car on the way home from a long day at work. Legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart, considered by many the GOAT, passed away this week at age 67, after a 3 year battle with brain cancer. Post your Rush-related memories and tributes here!

Not like Hall of Fame great, but for a "run-stopper" who played about 50% of defensive snaps (compared to someone like Joey Bosa who plays 90+), he spent an awful lot of time in the backfield wrecking shop. He was arguably the best DE on a top-5 defense. Someone is going to pay him some loot.
-
Good for him. The Bills FO sent him a message by not picking up his 5th year, and he responded with a great season. I hope he sticks around, but would totally understand if he wants to cash in somewhere else after not getting the love last off-season.

You would think with a 16 point lead and a running back who's been making plays all game, you would run him a bunch in the 2nd half. Not the case.

Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread
skibum replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Analysis aside, it was one of the most exciting football games I've seen in a long time. It had everything - trick plays, fumbles, sacks, crazy QB scrambles, clutch plays on offense, clutch plays on defense, big mistakes, big hits, controversial calls, last second drama, and even a bunch of extra time for more craziness. The highlight reel on nfl.com is almost nine minutes long, and it doesn't even include the kickoff TD debacle.
