Past & Present, Here Are The Strongest Players in NFL History (Photos)
skibum replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is one of the dumbest lists I've ever seen. It barely includes anyone who played before 2010, and it doesn't include Reggie White, which means it's automatically bunk. -
I Am Not Optimistic Going Into This Season
skibum replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just look at the cuts that were made this year - A lot of now-former Bills lost out to new acquisitions. That means improvements were made. OT depth is shaky, and MLB is not fully solved yet, but said MLB will be working next to Matt Milano, as well as between a very stout D line and a very experienced secondary. Beane is smart in that he makes sure the marquee positions are always taken care of - QB, LT, CB1, Edge. So no glaring holes, but maybe you should jump anyway, if that's going to be your attitude. Yeah, they could go 8-9, but they will be fun to watch either way. -
Speculation and discussion on Bills final roster cuts
skibum replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
OT depth is a little scary, but otherwise it looks like a pretty solid roster, and they cut some really talented players to get there. Hopefully they can put together a good practice squad, and make a run. Looking forward to the season, GO BILLS! -
WGR speculating the Bills will make a trade

A team with assets like the Bills have should always be looking into trades. -
Brandon Shell Reportedly Intends to Retire
skibum replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, the young fella made somewhere in the ballpark of $13 million in 6+ years in the NFL. It stinks that he won't be in the mix for the Bills this season, but good for him! I wish I could have retired at 31 with stacks of money. -
Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
skibum replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Barkley has two things going for him - He's cool-headed, and he has great timing on his throws (to make up for his lack of a cannon). I don't think K. Allen has anything going for him, except that he is probably the better runner. Barkley's style is nothing like JA's, but Kyle isn't good enough to be on an NFL field. Basically, the Bills live and die with Josh Allen. But if someone has to come in and hold it together for three games, I'm going with Barkley. -
Detroit-unveils new Helmet in honor of their 90th season
skibum replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
What's with the grey and blue bars behind the lion? They are distracting, and they extend up to where there's a ridge on the helmet, distorting them. What a terrible design! -
That's cool! I work in the vegetable business and have met a few folks in my travels to CA who know the Allens, and always speak highly of the family. Personally, I think they may be late to the party with pistachios - everyone's growing them now, there seems to be a glut on the market, and the prices are diving. But I hope it works out for them! And I hope they have reliable access to water. It's scary talking to growers out there. They just keep drilling deeper and deeper.

RBs really get hosed by the rookie contract rules. They should be free to make mad loot by year 3 so they don't end up doing stuff like this. So many good ones end up out of the league before they can cash in.

Dang, inflation hits everywhere these days!

He might be able to land a HC position at a decent college program, but not a powerhouse school, nor an NFL team. Over age 60, the only guys who get hired for those gigs are the ones with long track records of success at HC - Andy Reid, Pete Carroll, etc. But you never know, he certainly has the credentials.

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
skibum replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure Beane already knows what he has to do to make this happen, if he in fact wants to make it happen. But there are a lot of other suitors in the mix. -
Players That Should Be HOF Inductee's But Are Not .
skibum replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are far more examples of players who should NOT be in the HOF, but are; than there are examples of players who should be, but aren't. -
Don't worry, Cleveland will sign him to a long term deal for $50M guaranteed.

If You Could Pick Any RB to Line Up Behind Josh
skibum replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I second that. I love me some Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson toting the rock, but to pair with Josh, I would want nothing less than best receiving back ever. My second choice is Thurman (homer pick but justifiable), third is LT. My extreme homer pick is Fred Jackson. -
The Bills had late picks and managed to get two of the very best players at their respective positions. Not too shabby!
-
Still can't believe they got this guy at 59! I would have been happy with him at 27, to be honest. This definitely takes the sting out of trading away that 4th.

Deandre Swift from the Lions likely available via trade

Wrong DeAndre. -
The Battle of a lifetime: Klein, Spector, Dodson, Bernard, Williams

ST is gonna be stacked this year. -
I'm going with a soft 'no', because there were still a lot of great players on the board, and this was something of a luxury pick. Don't get me wrong, I like the player a lot, but he will have to make a pretty big impact for this to be a square deal. As with all draft picks, we don't know if that will pan out.
-
I don't get it. How is anyone 'tipping' the picks? The draft is broadcast widely on national TV and there are dozens of options to follow along online and on the radio. And nobody outside the teams themselves knows the picks before they happen. We're all just sitting there waiting for picks to come - what difference does it make if I find out 5 seconds before my TV tells me? And who cares if you saw Roger Goodell do it or if it came in the Shoutbox? And if you don't have TV or internet service, then you gotta find out what the picks are somehow - might as well be here. And when is it OK to name a pick? Does one wait 5 minutes out of courtesy? I can't believe the things people get bent out of shape over!
-
Probably won't be awake much after the top 10. Will likely find out who the Bills drafted when I get up to whizz at 3.

Don't forget TinkerBell. Wasn't Steve Christie more or less known as Bigfoot? Or did I just make that up?
