  1. Better late than never?
  2. It was nice to see him have a 'big' game, but the Steelers couldn't stop a toddler on a tricycle last week. Can Ray make the same impact against a better run defense? History suggests not really, but it sure would be great if what we saw in Pittsburgh was a sign of things to come. His college reel would indicate the potential is there.
  3. Mahomes will be running for his life. We saw what Houston did to the Bills, and KC is even less equipped to stop that kind of beat down. I think KC's season pretty much ends on Sunday night.
  4. He's probably #3 this year, which is an amazing accomplishment considering who's out there. And he's not far from the best.
  5. It wasn't all Cook, either - Davis and Johnson also had success when called upon. The Steelers just couldn't get to the runner all day. Kudos to the Bills O line for executing, but the Stillers D should have had an answer at some point. Instead, they laid an egg.
  6. The OL played well, but they were also fortunate that the Steelers couldn't figure out how to stop the run, even though they knew it was coming all game long. A better opponent probably would have done a better job of locking it down after the half.
  7. They showed a lot of resilience. Lots of key injuries and a terrible first half, but they "made the adjustments" and turned it into a beat-down, in a tough stadium for that matter. Nice game, all things considered!
  8. I don't think Josh is "dirty" in the sense that he is trying to injure anyone, but he is definitely a world-class flopper - always dramatizing and throwing up his arms when he gets touched a little late or anywhere near the head. He will do any little thing to gain an advantage or get in a player's head. He has been known to employ the "fake-take-a-knee" move on his runs. He likes to leverage the QB protection rules, big time, and that alone will piss a lot of guys off. But here's an example where it worked perfectly.
  9. I would also offer that the bubble screen is a throw that Josh and his receivers don't seem to time very well. I haven't done any kind of video review, but it seems like the receiver (often Shakir) usually has to wait too long for the ball, often while standing still. Sometimes the trow is a little behind him, too. Makes it really hard to get upfield in a hurry.
  10. Sorry it didn't work out, but usually it doesn't.
  11. It's going to be Amari Cooper 2.0. Let's be realistic.
  12. It's crazy that in a season where the Chiefs, Bengals, and Ravens are all struggling mightily, the Bills are looking less likely to ascend to the throne than they have in years. It just goes to show you how evenly matched the NFL is this year, and how important injuries can be to determining the success of a team. The Lombardi trophy is truly up for grabs right now.
  13. What a bummer. There was so much positive hype about Coleman from training camp through the first couple of games. It really looked like the light bulb had been lit. Oh well.
  14. Cool, can't wait to see the photos of the 3 J's together at last.
  15. The funny thing about Gabe Davis is that his hands were amazing early in his career. I remember this vividly, and I was very surprised when he started dropping balls on the regular. I still feel that he has the potential to be a sure catcher, but he's got to prove he can still do it.
  16. He has to be better than Elijah Moore and Tyrell Shavers. Right?
  17. They probably want to cut Moore. Myers would be an upgrade there, but what is it really worth?
  18. Funny, I almost collided with Mr. Fichtner at the airport in Cabo San Lucas several years ago. I was maneuvering through a crowded food court and suddenly found myself face to face with the battered husband from Drowning Mona. We darn near smashed our foreheads together. Watch where you're going, Fichtner!
  19. I loved him in Drowning Mona. One of my favorite "movies that time forgot".
  20. There's probably something wrong with him in the character department. Why the heck would the Jags trade away a first round pick halfway through his second season, when he had an outstanding rookie year, they have a young QB in need of weapons, and they are in the playoff hunt?
  21. That is when they are 100% healthy, which never happens, and it still not that great of a lineup. The DL rotation looks solid, but not spectacular, and it's by far the best unit. And who knows how well the three "new guys" are actually going to play. Of course they "could be good", but odds are they won't be much better than they already are.
  22. Well, it can't be much worse than what's on the field today. I think they were extremely conservative with his recovery, and probably planned to keep him out through the bye week regardless of how ready he was. I am confident that his knee is doing well, that he has learned the playbook inside and out, and that he has watched months worth of tape. He's a smart kid and I think he'll be OK within a couple of games. Welcome back, Max!
  23. I wish the Bills had the CB depth to try Tre at Safety. I know he's "too small", but I'm pretty sure he can learn the job if he doesn't already know it by heart. He also seems to be tackling harder than ever. Could he be any worse than Bishop? That said, I don't think he's been that bad at CB.
  24. You mean, the Hate Buffalo rally?
  25. Yes, Beane calls in the picks, but it's hard for me to believe he does so in a vacuum, or that he would consistently go against his management/coaching team's consensus to make questionable picks. I think he's smart enough to know that's not where you micromanage. But it is his management/coaching team, and if they are collectively so ineffective at picking impact players in the early rounds, then maybe it is time for him to go. It's too bad, because I think he's a top-notch GM who has made a lot of bold and beneficial moves over the years. He just doesn't have the right team advising him on players and scouting.
