I always thought it would be great to organize a call in assault on Dope and his Lapdog similar to what the two guys on the Stern show do - I think its Sal and Richard - where they just do call in after call in of staged calls to humiliate/antagonize Radio Talk shows....I think we could get Dope to actually blow a fuse....

Hey - Steve Johnson - wait till you get into the endzone before celebrating....have a little patience before making yourself look like TO/Ochocinco....

Franchise Qbs.....???? -
Use one of your buttons for AM 590 out of Toronto - their topics may not always be relevant - but often they are - they have real guests and real topics and they talk like adults....its almost like - sort of - sports talk for say ....smart people....

If we draft a non need please be Peterson

Actually - I agree....if we are not sold on Gabbert - Peterson seems like the most sure fire pick - and at this point we need a guy who plays like a #3 pick. -
IF Panthers take Newton...what do the Bills do?
TH3 replied to TH3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since i started this thread...... I used to be All Cam.....but not so sure any more..... If Blaine Gabbert is the real thing - I would take him - if not all the better as we get a top D player Either way it is probably good -

So if we get NEwton and he becomes good - does that mean you will continue not to watch?

I can only relate my story - I went to Michigan State way back when - (all pro linebacker - Super Bowl - for the Giants played across LT) Carl Banks lived in my dorm and the head RA went down to break up some goofing around - Banks punched him and broke his jaw. Nothing happened to banks - BTW he was probably the meanest looking dude I have ever seen. On a lighter note - when Playboy did "Girls of the Big Ten" the MSU girl lived in my dorm too!!

Well - among the talking heads of course.....Banks, Schefter, dude from Gr55 who is at the combine......plus it seems to make sense to me. Both the Bills and Panthers need a franchise qb, a franchise qb means more to a football team X2 than any other position, and there appears to be 2 franchise QB's that are there - ergo 1.Newton 2. someone else 3. Gabbert - or other way around. i am not advocating the pick - I just think that arrangement seems to make sense.
-
I work at home - or travel - so I always have the radio on. Seems like the smoke is clearing among the talking heads....the Panthers and the Bills are going to take QB's - so its either going to be CN or BG. I am good with either one.

One would think that if the Bills draft him #3 they will have done a good job of interviewing him and removing any risk associated with him being mentally and mature enough to succeed. They probably also would have gotten a handle on his ability to handle the pro offense. As far as being a one year wonder - in today's world, that is what you get. I beleive the same label could have been put on AL - but noone here would have had a problem drafting him. To go to your point - I think a one year wonder at QB is more difficult to pull off than what Maybin did. CN went undefeated in the toughest league, made the biggest plays passing and running, won big, won from behind, won it all. If you have only one year to prove it - what else can you do? I think - as usual - people have polarized on him and either are 100 percent for or against. As far as his "transgressions" - I am of the opinion - who cares...for better or worse CN has been a pro QB for years. He was always going to be either a NFL QB or a landscaper. He was never going to be a good student - or even a student. I think in the SEC - the football players probably aren't really asked to be students anyway - they are their to play football - and historically - they have been "pros" - although I am not quite sure how much of that actually goes on anymore...

Well - the Bills do need a alot of things - including a top level QB. I do not know the Qb's available for next year other than AL - which would warrant a 1-15 record to get him. So - if the Bills are in a position - after thorough research - to get a top level QB this year - and they are confident that Newton or Gabbert will be that - I think they have no other choice but to draft them - after all - when will they have their chance to get one. This is all providing that Newton/Gabbert verify their capability to be a top notch QB through the combines.interviews etc
-
Totally agree - After all - if two top QB prospects backup their solid college careers by killing it at the combine, interviewing well, etc...we should NOT draft them and finally get the franchise QB we have been seeking since Kelly

Bleacher latest Mock Draft looks ohh so good...

My point is - We nitpick and pour over games and draft reports for CN, BG, RM, AL, Ponder,....and our starting QB wasn't even good enough in College to warrant someone looking at him -

Love to see Fitz's college draft report -
I also hate to say this, all he comparisons seem to be to VY (who by the way is something like 27-17 as a starter in the NFL - and if he wasn't a head case would be a considered a great player - his problems are not because he is a bad QB or is a combo runner/passer - but because he is immature). If CN was white...he would be the next Elway. I hope we draft him.
-
Maybe my facetiousness didn't come through....I think CN is the best thing to come along in a while and I hope we draft him.... Easy fella - I was JOKING[/b....I have been following him all year!! Do you think we should check if he looks good in a bikini? Kind of a mockumentary on the same titled thread for Mallet!
-
Show me you can win a big game, come from behind, throw accurately, evade a strong rush, make a good martini, have dogs and small children like you, look good in a bikini..... Alright - I already think CN would make our team better in alot of ways - one thing I think he would bring is a sense of youthful excitement and charisma - because - our Bills are one damn boring team. Let's face it - Fitz has a great beard and everything - but he definately has "old dude" written all over him. Do people remember Leonard Smith running out of the tunnel to "Leonards Lair" - man we could use a dose of that The Bills could use something that points our team to a new direction - attract actual good free agents... Look forward to seeing tonites game - I think CN ends up in the top 5 in the draft.

Gee, Someone wrote something on the INTERNET on an official website - it must be well researched and true! I would bet my house the invisible writer has never talked to RM - talked to his coaching staff or researched anything about RM other than coughing up talijg points. I am not a RM supporter but sheesh

Wanna Know? JK did almost the same thing BR did to that girl to one of my friends - only she got out of it - and she was hardly alone...Dude was legendary...Cornelius Bennett raped a girl anally and she had to be stitched up - remember he went to jail. SHould have cut those guys right? - those 88-94 teams were OOC - but back in the day they were untouchable -

My take - the kid has been a pro football player since age 18 - couldn't care less if he does for our Bills what he does for Auburn. I am Jim Kelly's age - and believe me - he was the Ben R. (off field) of his time...you know of course what Cornelius Bennet did right? Bruce Smith....if we had the same thought process to selecting them - we would not have made it to 4 SB's....remember these guys are mostly dirt poor and 18-21 - the NCAA makes millions off them and expects them to relish the "opportunity" to make the NCAA, school and coach millions while they can't even get pizza money....
