Only BIPARTISAN legislation will last and will work. Partisan legislation goes to far in one direction and is simply and successfully criticized by the opposing party - who leverages it to gain control then turns a 180. AFA your comments - most are mutually exclusive. Can't have coal and clean air and water. The way the GOP is headed with HC it will be designed with idealism first not functionality. Safe from illegals - you already are. Reaping ENORMOUS cash from NATO? Russia is Trumps friend - they colluded to get him elected - he is not our friend. What exactly are we going to upfund our military for? The "war" on terrorism - is not going to have a "winning" moment. What's not to like - how about some realism.

Trump kept Pence in dark about Flynn's Russia Calls
TH3 replied to Meathead's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The story is the possibility of the complete sell out of the GOP. The election of DT is forcing the GOP to look at themselves and see which side of patriotism they stand on. Do they shine on light this and show the public and themselves how deep this is with the countries best interests in mind - whether it is a "non story" - or whether it is what could be the most treasonous act in our countries history. Or do they huddle up and devise a strategy that would best suit themselves in the 2018 midterm elections. So you condemn Carter and Jackson for similar actions...but not the DT administration? -

Never said the public schools did....but they are the only ones to take on the kids that cost $25k a year When Canisius takes a bunch of kids from the fruit belt call me
-
Nah - pretty sure is because she is completely unqualified. You can get your vouchers - but the vast majority of schools will always be public - and right now they seem to have the responsibility to attempt to cure a number of social ills in our inner cities - show me a private school that does this. Show me a private school that carries the responsibility of caring for the learning disabled, the autistic kids, the physically disabled kids whose parents don't have the 50k a year to send them a to a private school who does this. Show me a private school that takes the hungry kids in and feeds them breakfast lunch and dinner. Show me a private school that is going to provide a safe haven for vulnerable teens after school. Show me a private school that's going to do all this for a $9000 voucher. Talk about draining the swamp and money laundering...Devos bought that job - her results in MI speak for themselves. But - as with most things since Jan 20 - the main positive seems to be "the left going full retard" rather than pointing to a path to that leads to a better result.

Might wanna direct your ire from non existant demons to something more tangible to the safety of the republic....like say maybe pre-election negotiations with the russians.....

Nat'l "Right To Work" Law Is Back On The Table
TH3 replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
So there appears to be a left/right agreement that wage gap is one of the primary issues facing our country and you see the elimination of collective bargaining as part of the solution? -
Tucker Carlson Interview - Why Trump Won & Brexit Happened
TH3 replied to Dr.Sack's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Dead on the money yes... ..he may have posited a reason for Trump and Brexit victories.....doesn't mean that either are the answer..... -
No that is pretty much right on...of course you dont get it do you.... Do you guys ever try to understand how things work? There are two types of bankers...those who want steady predictable environments...and those who want to gamble. The gamblers win no matter what happens...the others win when the future is as predicted. Guess who wants Dodd Frank undone...the bankers I work with don t....they like the current environment.... To spoon feed you....the economy did just great in regulated conditions pre 1999, proceeded to melt down when unregulated ..then did just fine again in the Dodd Frank era What is the basis for removing it....its not based on economic performance...so then what would it be? Perhaps you can respond to my point
-
I agree...the USA HC system is broken...the ACA is a duct tape and spit solution to use the existing structure to cover everyone and delete the inequities such as women paying more and pre-existing conditions. My point is - take a clean sheet of paper - throw out the VA, Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, employer requirements... Design a system that takes into account risk pools, buying behavior and leverage it with capitalism.... I think it would be the biggest improvement to our economy we could make.... I can't believe we as citizens and elected officials (well I can guess why they go along with the status quo) put up with what we have....if cars cost twice as much for us as the rest of the world due to an antiquated purchasing and dealership system....would we put up with it?

Banking regulations eased in late 90's - Dow at all time high - 10,000 8 years later financial meltdown - Dow craters at 6500 - economy in meltdown Dodd Frank introduced in 2010 - Dow at 10,000 2017 Dow at all time high of 20,000 - economy humming along 2017 Get rid of Dodd Frank - just add tax cuts for good measure The GOP has literally no idea what to do....

GOP mulls national right to work law...Because they love you
TH3 replied to Dr.Sack's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
.Well...there is that collective bargaining thing.... -
Not sure where you are getting 60 percent...I actually googled this and the RCP average was 49 disapprove 42 approve... Tossing out your left wing glee...I see the fate of the midterms based on his success...unless he has some geopolitical strategy that only he seems to understand...can't see us going "up" in that category...as soon as Scotus and the AG get settled - you are going to see a long ugly fight over the periphery of religious rights...which are dear to some - but don't effect our pocket book That gets us to pocket books...I would love to see him address what I feel he won on...the forgotten rural areas....I guess the new host of the apprentice is more important... I consult for banks on risk management of large loans....the banks are already changing the lending profiles due to the uneasiness surrounding the DT presidency...as well...if you were to listen to the risk managers on the inside...sell your stock... We shall see...

Talk about broken records...if you don't know that the template of the ACA was the brainchild of the Heritage Foundation and championed by Newt Gingrich in the 90's - I don't know what to say to you... From what I understand regarding the "GOP plan" in its current progress....they are quickly understanding that health care does not behave by simple "free market" rules...you have to take into account actuarial risk pool theory, preventative coverage and its long term cost curve, buying behavior in high deductible formats.... The health care savings account plan Ryan talked championed doesn't work.... I will give the GOP credit - they are admitting the realities of the daunting task and the parameters that govern health care coverage....
