  1. Fred Jackson is da man. Let's hope that he's the next to get signed to an extension.
  2. I completely disagree. Hindsight is 20/20. The achilles injury was thought to be healed, but probably should have had the surgery last year. They were trying to avoid that so that he could play. It didn't work out. To say that it was a bad move is purely a personal opinion. It is not a fact, and certainly not reason to get rid of Nix. Nix has done a good job of rebuilding a roster that was totally devoid of talent a couple of years ago. To do that, you need to take some chances. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't, but this one was totally worth the risk.
  3. No way that the Ravens, Texans or Bills go 12-4. For the record, I predict we go 11-5. Still should be good enough to make it.
  4. I couldn't agree more. I coach the boys U16 A all star soccer team in my town and I have also coached the U18's. Most players of that age today would totally disregard a rant like that and just write off the coach as a douche bag. Players will do in games what you have taught them to do in practice. If you fail to teach them in practice, then they can't do it in games. When I was in the Army, there was a big billboard across from the barracks with the slogan "No training takes place on the battlefield. You do what you know in order to survive." The same is true in sports. As a coach, you train your players in practice and make adjustments during games. They can only do what you have taught them to do. Screaming and cursing these days just doesn't work. It might have at one time, but not anymore.
  5. I live in Newfoundland and my son, his girlfriend and I went to the Philly game at the Ralph. We looked into getting tickets to the game in Toronto, but in the end, the tickets and hotel prices were so expensive, it was cheaper to fly into Toronto, stay at a hotel in Tonawanda and then drive down to Orchard Park for the game. The reason most people don't come across from the U.S. to the games in Toronto is because it's just not worth the expense. Even with the rental car it was much cheaper to do it this way.
  6. Agree completely. This stacks up as an easy win.
  7. And Ralph is cheap!
  8. I totally agree. These posts are very creative, but so obviously bogus that it is funny to watch people try and debate with "Jimmy"
  9. I'll take any TE in the league matched up against London Fletcher. He still makes lots of tackles, but usually they are down field. He doesn't have the speed to cover or penetrate anymore. Tough, physical guy, but way beyond his prime.
  10. It is amazing to me how little people on this forum respect their own team. The fact is that the Buffalo Bills won two AFL championships. After the merger, the team has won 4 conference championships. That would be 4 in a row. When was the last time the Green Bay Packers won 4 straight NFC championships? Yes they have won the Super Bowl and we have not, but we have a pretty storied history as well.
  11. After last week, I'm surprised there isn't more call for CB's. Ours are being exploited on a weekly basis. Pass rush is weak as well, so I agree OLB should be a priority.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Both losses were on the road to decent teams, but both games were winnable. If this team is going to get over the hump, they have got to learn to win these close games on the road. So far they haven't proven that they can.
  13. Great article. Once you become a fan of a team, they are kind of like part of your family. I have been a fan since that first season. My sister was going to Buff State and came home for the weekend with a poster of that first team photo. I watched every game, every year until I joined the Army in '77. Then, I caught them when I could, but followed religiously. As soon as DirecTV came along, I bought it so that I could get NFL Sunday ticket and watch the Bills again. I have watched every game since then. I still celebrate every win and lament every loss. They're far from perfect, but they're ours. Go Bills!
  14. You kill me. We are 4-2. Every team has holes. There is no perfect team in the league. I'll take 4-2 all day long. Considering your analysis of this team, won't it really be a miracle when they make the playoffs? I was at the Philly game and I have a news flash for you. This is a good football team. They didn't play their best game either yesterday or in Cinci, but with a bit of luck, could have won either of those as well.
  15. This game, to me was very much like the Cincinnati game. It was a close game on the road that could have and should have been won. If this team is to get over the hump, they have got to learn how to win these kinds of games. So far, they have beaten three good teams. The two losses could easily have been wins as well. Overall, I don't think we can complain about a 4-2 start, but I do believe that if this team is going to be a playoff team and is going to be able to compete in the playoffs, they have got to eliminate the kinds of mistakes on the road that caused them to lose these two games. I don't expect them to win them all, but I don't believe either the Giants or Bengals are a better team than the Bills. We just didn't play well enough on the road to win those two games. I hope it is something this team will learn from and overcome, but I believe they have to learn how to win these kinds of games to get to where they want to be.
  16. St. Pieree et Michelon is an island community just off the coast of Newfoundland. It is still part of France.
  17. I live in Conception Bay South Newfoundland. They offer French immersion in the schools here and my daughter wanted to try it. She loves it. My grandson Aidan is also five years old and in French immersion kindergarten. Very glad we are offered this opportunity for them to be bi-lingual.
  18. Hey Olivier. Welcome back and congratulations on the new baby. My five year old daughter started school this year and we have her in French immersion. Last night I read her a bed time story in French. Luckily it was a very simple story and I could identify most of the words by the pictures in the book.
  19. We stayed in Tonawanda and had no problems getting in or out. Back at the hotel by about an hour after game time. And thanks to the dude that handed me a cold beer through the open window on the way out of the lot!
  20. I say 30-17 Bills. I just don't think the Giants are that good.
  21. On the flipside, if our defense continues to pressure the QB and strip balls from receivers, it will be impossible for the opposition to "avoid turnovers". And by the way, nobody is "giving us a turnover". The defense is creating them.
  22. You're kidding right? You're scared to death of a quarterback who has never played a down in the NFL? Bring him on. I could care less who gets Luck as long as the Bills keep winning football games.
  23. Thanks for making me laugh this morning.
  24. Oh you of little faith. The Giants suck. The Bills will beat them soundly. Fred Jackson will have a field day and Fitz will have another solid day. The Giants will turn the ball over at least three times. Bills 30-13. Go Bills!
