  1. It has become almost comical watching this team find new ways to lose. Today it was the two fumbles that killed them, among other things. Last week when they kicked the field goal in the fourth quarter I told my son that the Jets would come back and score a touchdown and the Bills would not be able to come back and win. Today when Buffalo scored the touchdown in the fourth quarter, I told my son that Buffalo would get the ball back, but would not be able to come back and win. I have seen this movie so many times, I almost don't even need to watch any more. The endings to these games have been almost identical for years. Just bad enough to lose. Every single week. Ridiculous.
  2. Admire your optimism, but it ain't gonna happen. The Bills blew any playoff chances with those four straight losses. Love this team, but they are done for this year.
  3. I said no and my screws are just fine thank you very much. You root for the team that grew up with and you want to win. What is there to be embarrassed about?
  4. Couldn't agree more. I will always be a Bills fan, but if they lose, it's not the end of the world and it has absolutely no reflection on me as a person. I do have a great family and after having two heart attacks, every day is a blessing. Why so serious OP?
  5. Absolutely. I had seen the movie before. I told my son that when Buffalo kicked the field goal, the Jets would come back and score a touchdown with a little over a minute left and the Bills would almost make it, but not quite. Exactly what happened. Pretty pathetic.
  6. So what's the problem? This whole team has a problem with their tickers. If they had strong hearts, they would have won some of the games that they pissed away this season. At least Easley is being treated for his.
  7. Cincinnati was a winnable game. The Giants game was a winnable game. Yesterday was a winnable game. We lost them all. I predict we don't win more than one more game all year. This team was done when they got blown out three straight times against not so great competition.
  8. Ralph is cheap.
  9. Sorry, but I just can't share your optimism. This team doesn't even have a heartbeat, particularly on defense. All they needed to do was make one stop on that last Jets drive and they win the game. There are no moral victories in the NFL. They don't have enough heart to win these close games. They had them 3rd and long 3 different times on that last drive and couldn't make a single play to get the ball back and stop the winning score. I don't enjoy watching them lose games that they are good enough to win if they would just grow a heart.
  10. Couldn't agree more. That was amazingly selfish on Stevie's part. That being said, how do you !@#$ up a kickoff when you are a kicker? I mean that's all that you do. It is amazing to me the number of ways that this team manages to find to lose football games. Absolutely pathetic. If the defense could have made just one play on that game winning series, the Bills would have won. They just didn't have it in them.
  11. So I had a wild thought today. After watching Brad Smith this year, one thing has become very clear to me. Brad Smith is not a WR. He is a QB. He was a pretty good one at Missouri. He was very productive in an option based offense. Newly aquired RB Tashard Choice was pretty productive in an option attack at Georgia Tech. Since the offense has been sputtering, I would recommend putting in a package that utilizes Smith at QB, and Spiller and Choice alternating at RB. I believe it could be similar to what Denver is running with Tebow, but these two running backs as well as Smith could be very effective in this type of offense. I'm not talking about running the wildcat on every play. I'm talking about a package of plays that can be run on any down, alternating with the standard Fitz run offense. What have we got to lose at this point? May as well try and put players in a situation they are familiar with and have had success with. I know this probably won't be a popular idea, but I figure, what could it hurt? We are going nowhere fast.
  12. Still think he isn't a dirty player after today. No excuse for what he did today and his team's performance went straight downhill after he was ejected. Not only dirty, but stupid as well.
  13. Very well said and I would like to second my wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all here at TBD. Enjoy the day with friends and family and maybe even some good football. Take care.
  14. Wish I could share your optimism. After attending the Eagles game, I thought, "Wow, this is a pretty good football team." Since then they have shown me absolutely no reason to believe that they can be a team that plays well against good competition. They completey folded the last three weeks and until they show some hint that they are better than that, I cannot say that I expect them to win. I hope they do, but I don't expect it.
  15. Actually, in 8 games, Jones has 23 receptions or 2.875 per game. Pretty much a wash. Just sayin'. And you cannot use what did not happen in Ravens games (Evans playing)to forecast what Lee Evans would have done if he had stayed with the Bills. It doesn't wash. And I reiterate, Hangartner sucks as a center. He is a serviceable guard, nothing more.
  16. Well I seem to remember that the last two seasons he averaged 2.8 receptions per game. And the fact of the matter is, he has done nothing this year to justify your post. I could see if he were tearing up the league, but he isn't. He's hurt and he's doing nothing. He was a one trick pony. And Hangartner was terrible.
  17. Lee Evans has exactly two receptions in two games for Baltimore this year. Are you sure you want to make him the saviour of this team? Hangartner regularly got pushed around and was generally abysmal. The fact is that this entire team needs to man up and start playing real football. The question is, do they have it in them to do so? I don't think so. If they did, it would have kicked in by now. After that Jets loss, most teams would have been embarrassed enough to play tougher the next week. This team's answer? Two more games where they got blown out and pushed around. I just don't think they are tough enough to rebound.
  18. Yeah that's it. They're a bunch of pussies because Ralph is cheap. The fact is that this team needs to man up and they haven't done it. They are getting beat up because they are allowing it to happen. That said, at least three of those hits yesterday were illegal and only one was called, but still, they have been getting pushed around because they are letting it happen. Time to grow a pair or just stay home.
  19. So the fans are the problem. Well thank you for enlightening me. I forgot that there were so many fans on the field the past three weeks. The fact is that this team lacked depth. When people started getting hurt, it affected their play. Also, the style of play leaves something to be desired. There are problems with this team for sure, but it has nothing to do with the fans or the owner. And just for the record OP, I have been a Bills fan since the first season in 1960. I will continue to be one for the rest of my life. If you don't like that fact, too bad.
  20. Just don't see it. This team will be lucky to win another game this year. They are just horrendous. The highlight of the game for the Bills was a 56 yard field goal from a street free agent. Pathetic.
  21. Completely agree. I said the same thing to my son on that goal line play. At least if you're going to throw, go play action. With no deception, it has to work perfectly or you don't score. This team is just really, really bad right now. Unbelievable how fast they have regressed in the past three weeks.
  22. Wow! That's all I can say. I can't believe how this team has regressed in the past three weeks. They can't do anything right. They can't pass, they can't run, they can't play defense. Hell, they can't even punt. Unbelievably bad. I see no redeeming features on this team at all right now. They are just plain bad.
  23. So what? Who cares? They either make it or they don't. If they don't and Detroit does, then the facts will speak for themselves. Just for the record though, I don't believe either team will make it at this point.
