  1. Would they have stayed 10th if they had lost? No. It's okay if you disagree, I don't mind, but I am far from stupid. It was not a great win. It was a win when nothing mattered except draft position. A great win would have been a win against the Jets the first time or Dallas, when something mattered for this year. I stand by my original post. It is my personal opinion and you are welcome to yours. I won't call your opinion dumb, just different than mine. Take care. I agree that it is nice to get a win. It just would have been a lot nicer to get one when it really mattered and could have helped them get in the playoffs. This one meant nothing except that they will pick higher next year and not get as good a player. Pathetic in my opininion. What Fitz says would mean a lot more to me if he had played better when it mattered. Earlier in the season when this team actually had a chance to show what they are made of, they did just that. They have no heart. They win when there is no pressure and when they feel a bit of pressure, they fold like a house of cards. This win means nothing for next year. It just hurts their draft position. Period. Glad to be of service.
  2. I seriously thought I would see more on this topic, but here goes. Winning that game showed a lot about this team's character and not in a good way. In just about every game this year, where there was the least amount of pressure, this team folded like a house of cards. And please don't give me the first NE game as an example, because nobody expected Buffalo to win, so there was no pressure. Now that the pressure is off and they are assured of a losing season, they come out and play a good game. Exactly what did that accomplish? It cost the Bills dearly in next year's draft. Now I know that they have to try and win every week, but how pathetic is this team? As a fan, I have rooted for them to win every single game since the opening season in 1960. Yesterday, all I could do was laugh. This team loses every game that they need to win and wins when losing would be the best outcome. As a fan, it is just laughable. I couldn't even enjoy the win yesterday because I knew it was probably costing the Bills the player that they desperately want in next year's draft but will miss out on because they won yesterday.
  3. Couldn't disagree more. RG3 is the real deal. Just watch him play in the bowl game, then tell me what you think. Fitz was playing way over his head and has come crashing back to earth. Yes, there have been a slew of injuries, but they have absolutely zero to do with him not being able to connect with wide open receivers. His inaccuracy is the problem, not the WR's. This team desperately needs a QB, and Fitz ain't him.
  4. How the hell would you know what Jim Kelly would or would not appreciate? And because you and some other people share the same wrong opinion doesn't make it any more right.
  5. No apologies necessary. The statement about Thurman let's everyone know that you're not really serious. Thanks for the laugh.
  6. Nonsense. Jim Kelly was offering words of encouragement at a time when Fitzpatrick badly needed them. Absolutely nothing "inappropriate" about it.
  7. I'm calling BS on this one. Nothing belittling about it. He was giving him words of encouragement. There is a fraternity among NFL QB's, particulary those that have played for the same team. He wasn't berating him, he was encouraging him. Nothing in the world wrong with that. I completely disagree with your assessment.
  8. FJ is this team's best player. You don't trade your best player. You build around him. This thread is ridiculous. CJ is doing well filling in, but what this team needs to do is find more ways to get him the ball when Freddie is healthy. Line them both up in the backfield and use some deception so that the defense actually has to try and figure out which one is getting the ball and how. What the Bills do is so easily read by defenses it is ridiculous. I can predict what they will do on almost every play based solely on formation. If I can do it, opposing defenses certainly can. Don't use either CJ or Freddy, use them both.
  9. Afraid I can't agree. The losses have as much to do with this coaching staff's inability to adapt as they do to injuries. Chan just keeps trying the same stuff with his game planning and play calling and the league is on to him. He has not adjusted and the offense has suffered. A coach needs to game plan according to the personnel that he actually has on the field, not the ones that used to be there. And defensively they have no clue. Coaching makes a huge difference. Yes, injuries have taken their toll, but I believe this team has players that could have stepped up if utilized properly. A huge fail for the coaching staff this year.
  10. I agree that this team has a lot of holes, but I do not agree that Fitz is a competent QB. He routinely misses open receivers and is very erratic with his throws. This is not the mark of a QB that you can depend on to do the little things necessary to win games. Sorry, but I believe the Bills need to draft a QB and stop this charade.
  11. Could it be the coaching staff? Nah, never mind. Must be that all the players we draft or sign suck. It's time for Gailey and his staff to be shown the door. Look at the difference a good coach has made in SF.
  12. Couldn't disagree more. The biggest problem with this team is the coaching staff. In the NFL, all of the players are talented. It is the coaches job to get them ready to play and have offensive and defensive game plans that exploit the opposing team's weaknesses. The coaches are also supposed to make in game adjustments to help win close games. In my opinion, this coaching staff is doing none of these things. They have enough talent to win and have lost some very winnable games this year. The difference between winning those games and losing them comes down to coaching.
  13. It's not my job as a fan to evaluate possible candidates for GM and coach. Every fan has a right to be dissatisfied with the current regime. It would be one thing if the team were showing signs of progress, but this team is absolutely horrible and I blame the coaching staff. It is their job to get the team prepared to execute on Sundays. It is their job to evaluate the opponents offense and game plan to stop it. It is their job to develop an offensive game plan each week that exploits the other teams weaknesses. It is their job to make in game adjustments in order to help make the difference between winning and losing football games. This coaching staff has proven to be woefully inadequate at these things that they are being paid to do. Who would you blame? I have no idea who the next head coach and coordinators should be, but it is painfully obvious to me that this group is just not capable of getting the job done.
  14. Don't know if it's Perry Fewell that's the answer, but I agree, this team needs a new coaching staff. When a team plays this poorly on a consistent basis, it's time for a change. It looked like this might work for awhile, but it is becoming painfully obvious that this coaching staff does not have what it takes to build a winner. Not sure who we can get, maybe it is Fewell, but I agree, it's time for another change.
  15. So now our message board sucks too? Woe is us. I still find some interesting threads, as well as some silly ones here. It goes with the territory. With how bad this team is AGAIN, it is very hard to pinpoint exactly what the problem(s)is/are. It is extremely frustrating, particularly with the good start. I have my own thoughts and the problems are numerous, but they start with the coaching staff. The league has figured out Chan's style and he has failed to adjust. The QB play has been putrid these past few weeks. The defense is a joke and it's the coordinator that needs to go. On these points, I agree with most of the people on this board. As for how we get out of this funk, unfortunately, I think it's time to blow it all up and start again with a new coaching staff. I know not everyone will agree and I was a big Chan fan up until these past few weeks, but it has become plain that he just doesn't have what it takes. He has made the offense more fun to watch at times, but now, when adjustments need to be made, he's got nothin'.
  16. I tend to agree with the people that say that he just hasn't been given enough carries. Even during this last period when he has had an opportunity to play, Gailey is too pass happy. And when the team falls behind by two scores like they do almost every week, they completely abandon the run. I think Spiller is just fine. They just are not giving him an opportunity to excel. Part of being a good coaching staff is letting playmakers make plays by putting them in the right situations. This coaching staff is not very good at that on either side of the ball.
  17. Not all would have to be in. Just one on each crew could do it. I believe it is possible and any time there is this much money changing hands on bets, anything is possible.
  18. I don't believe it's the league. I believe it is the mob. Millions of dollars are wagered every single week on NFL games. All it takes is one official in the right place in key games each week and they are covered. I read a book about this and it seems very feasible to me. I know, I know no one likes conspiracy theorists, but some of these calls (not just in Bills games) are beyond explanation. Having said that, this team couldn't win if their lives depended on it.
  19. I was watching Bryan Scott after that first throw to Gates. He got beat three more times, including the penalty. Can't we do better than this guy?
  20. Absolutely. Maybe getting cut was a wakeup call, who knows? The fact is that he couldn't get on the field in Buffalo, through two different coaching staffs is certainly a red flag. He was given every opportunity and couldn't get it done. Maybe getting cut twice has opened his eyes. Either way, he wasn't helping us, so good riddance.
  21. When you're 5-7, going nowhere and your starting tight end is hurt, what have you got to lose? It beats doing nothing like previous administrations have done a pretty good job of.
  22. The Colts will never trade Peyton Manning. And no, that is not the answer to fix this team anyway. We have too many holes.
  23. I tend to agree with you that the biggest problem with this team is the defense. That said, I do not believe that Fitz is the long term answer at QB. His inaccuracy is a real problem. Those first three throws that he made against Tennessee were ridiculously bad. He routinely misses open receivers. Even with the poor defensive performance the past two weeks, the Bills could have won had he not missed open receivers in scoring situations. Granted, the defense is bad, but so is Fitz. IMO both areas need to be addressed.
