I believe you are watching a different game than the rest of us. The opponents O-Line has to account for Mario on every play and that allows everyone else on the D-LIne to have one on one opportunities. He did also have a sack yesterday and lots of QB pressures. That is something that was missing last year. Just can't see how you could watch the games and make that statement. He was a great addition to this defense.

Most newspapers that publish online editions pay for it with online ads. If they have good sales people selling advertising, no need to charge for reading articles online. I'm sure their writers are getting paid just fine or they would go someplace else.

Brian Moorman Has Been Awful
xsoldier54 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our coverage units have not been good because Moorman has been kicking low line drives beyond the coverage. He has been bad for a number of years now and almost blew the game with that 27 yarder yesterday. I know he is a good guy, but if he can't do his job, it is time for a change. -
Jets trying to sleep thier way to greatness
xsoldier54 replied to Drewgetz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way they kicked our asses, it looked like the Bills were the ones who were asleep. Until we can actually beat this team, I wouldn't poke too much fun at them. They absolutely have owned us for the past couple of years. -
Disagree. It looked like a clean hit to me. I'll pass on discussing the celebration, but from what I saw, it didn't look like he speared him. There might have been some helmet in there, but it very well could have been a shoulder. Couldn't tell. Looked to me like he was pursuing a Seattle player towards the Seattle end zone. And I disagree that he was defenseless. He should have seen that coming.

Either one is correct. "Couldn't care less" is grammatically correct if speaking in a direct manner, "could care less" is the same phrase using sarcasm.

Stadium 75% empty with 5 minutes left to play
xsoldier54 replied to Beebes Bubble's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely disagree. I have been in those long traffic lines after games and there was no reason to stay and subject yourself to that misery after a great day. It's very easy to just get in the car and listen to the final minutes on the radio, while getting a head start back home. It makes for a much better game day experience. And by the way, this team has subjected us to so much misery over the past few years, I don't think that I owe them anything. Subjecting myself to long and frustrating waits in traffic so that they can hear a few extra cheers is not worth ruining the game day experience. -
I agree. His body language does not seem like someone who is very confident in what he is doing. He always seems to be pre-occupied and not very sure that he is going to be able to do what he is supposed to do.

Pessimists, lets here it
xsoldier54 replied to Optometric Insight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not going to get too excited. They played well at home, which is what they are supposed to do. Much better than last week, but they need to show me some consistency for a few weeks before I am convinced that they will be a good team this year. A lot of good things today, now let's keep it up for a few more weeks. -
Cutler showed his true colors last night. Not the INT, but his crybaby antics. He did much the same thing a few years ago when he was playing for Denver and they were losing to the Bills. I remember thinking "What a crybaby this guy is." He hasn't changed or matured a bit. I don't want him as our QB, but I am not sold on Fitz either. The answer is someone else. Hopefully we find that someone.

What is the average age of the posters on TBD?
xsoldier54 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
57 and a fan since day one. I have been through all of the ups and downs with this team. The thing that keeps me watching is just thinking that "this too shall pass" and one day we will be a good football team again. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later. -
35 Interceptions by 18 QB's, put the Kool-Aid down.
xsoldier54 replied to buffalopdc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been following them since day one as well. I will always root for them to win. The fact is though, that Sunday's game looked a lot like last year and the year before. They were overmatched, outcoached and didn't look like they cared. I am rooting for them on Sunday, just like every week, but I no longer expect them to win. Until they can show some heart and some consistent play, I am hoping for them to win, not expecting a win. -
This one isn't even close. Jack Kemp was a very good QB. Fitz is pathetic.
-
Clearly those people are wrong.
-
That team we played yesterday was also in the AFC East. I wouldn't exactly call yesterday's effort contending.
-
I am an optimist by nature, but it is getting harder and harder to find anything to be optimistic about with regard to this team. The one thing that they are is Consistent.

Sorry, but this was not just one lousy game. It was the continuation of the kind of play that resulted in 7 straight losses last year and 8 straight losses the year before. It is a reflection of the coaching staff and it is a trend, not an anomaly. Until this team starts to show up and compete week in and week out, Bills fans have a right to be concerned. And benching Fitz in the midst of that debacle would have been a good move IMO. He needs to wake up and get his head out of his posterior or take a permanent seat on the bench or even pack his bags.

When the first play from scrimmage was a false start, how many people were shaking their heads and saying "Here we go again?" I know I was. It was an omen of how bad they would be. http://rochesterhomepage.net/fulltext?nxd_id=341002

I couldn't agree more. I don't remember one play the entire game that was stopped for negative yardage. Not one. In an entire football game. When every play the opposition runs results in positive yardage, you are not going to win many football games. And yes, Fitz was putrid. All around, it was a pathetic effort. They embarrassed themselves.
-
Really? You're not? Just exactly how bad does he have to play before you pull the plug? This is professional football. He wasn't fighting through anything. He was just plain terrible. And unfortunately that appears to be the "real" Fitz. He has played too many games like yesterday and not enough good ones to warrant any kind of confidence. If he can't play, then sit his rear end down. They lost the game by 20 points largely because of Fitzpatrick mistakes. Any QB could throw three picks and miss open receivers. I for one am no fan of Thigpen either, but in reality he couldn't have hurt our cause yesterday. The QB play was so bad, that it could not possibly have hurt to sit him down.

Its going to get worse before it gets better
xsoldier54 replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team not only gets beat it gets manhandled week in and week out. They are an embarrassment. I don't care what Chan Gailey and Fitzpatrick say about it being only one game, it was one horrendous game and a good indicator of how bad this team is. What a dissappointment after waiting the entire offseason and with all the moves they made. It all comes down to coaching and execution. We have a bad head coach and it filters down to the players. They just don't appear to be the least bit prepared week in and week out. At some point they need to have some pride. -
Bills shredded on national and out of town radio
xsoldier54 replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me, there are really two problems with this team and they are not small ones. Chan Gailey has proven over and over that he has no idea how to get a team prepared to win a football game. He is constantly shown up within the division. Second problem is the QB. I'm sure Fitz is a great guy. He is not a good QB however and is not capable of consistently winning football games. As long as we have this combination at the heart of our football team, we are headed for failure. This is a good team, it has lots of talent. It is poorly coached and too mistake prone. What we saw yesterday was very consistent with what we have seen the past two years with Fitz at the helm and Chan as Head Coach. It was not even a surprise to me. It looks like the same team we had last year. -
We sure could have used someone with speed at WR today to try and make some plays and get back in the game. Not having Graham active makes no sense. Why keep him on the roster if you're not going to even dress him. Bad decision by the coaching staff. Pretty consistent though, because this is a coaching staff that had no clue how to get this team ready to beat the Jets.

WEEK #1 - Bills @ Jets Game Day Thread
xsoldier54 replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Crying? Are you kidding me? This team was putrid today and people are just supposed to think that is okay? The Bills got manhandled today. They should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. Of course we'll hear all of the usual excuses after the game. This team seems to be in a perpetual state of denial and that is why they don't get any better. Today they looked exactly like the team that lost 8 straight games last year. They have not gotten one iota better. This will be another long season and 10 wins is a pipe dream.
