Ndamukong Suh kicks Matt Schaub in groin....
xsoldier54 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Completely agree. He clearly did this on purpose. There was no need for that last little kick outward unless he intended to kick him. -
This thread has been up a long time, so I thought I would add my two cents. I used to go to Bills games regularly back in the 90's when I was stationed in Olean as an Army Recruiter. What a treat it was to be able to attend the games live and I miss it now that I no longer live close enough. As for the fans, all I can say is that my experience was always a good one. In a crowd that size, when there is alcohol involved, there will always be a few people who are out of line. I will share my experience during a Monday night game against Cincinnati. My two young sons (12 and 10) really wanted to go to the game, but I could not get three seats together. I got them two seats a few rows up from where I was and I explained to the people around them that they would be sitting by themselves and asked them to keep an eye on them. The people surrounding them kind of adopted them and took very good care of them. I kept going back and forth between my seat and theirs to check on them and they were surrounded by good people who were looking out for them. The boys had a great time and I could not thank the people around them enough. I like to believe that people who are Bills fans have a common bond and for the most part are really good people. To answer the OP, I believe the camaraderie is one reason why people go to Bills home games.

Colin Kaepernick [get 'er dun!]
xsoldier54 replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they wanted him they should have drafted him. Kaepernick is not going anywhere. He will stay in S.F. and eventually become the starter and a very good one. I was hoping the Bills would draft him, but they didn't. S.F. will not trade this guy. He is going to be a very good NFL QB. -
The team is not out of Playoff Hunt
xsoldier54 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team lost to Tennesee at home. They are NOT going to the playoffs. I would love to see it as much as anyone else, but they just aren't good enough. They need a new HC and DC if they are to contend. This coaching staff is not capable of getting them prepared week in and week out. They cannot make in game adjustments and the fact is that it has and will cost them wins. Are the players good enough? I believe they are. Are the coaches playoff calibre? I don't think so. -
Completely disagree. Chan played it way too safe and it almost cost him and his team the game. Nice to get a win, but coaching like this will get you exactly what the Bills are, mediocre at best. I am tired of mediocre. Chan played it wrong. My logic would be to be a bit more creative with the offensive play calling. Gailey tried his best to give this win away. He has done this too many times for my liking. Maybe you will be satisfied with a team that finishes way below it's potential BECAUSE of the coaching staff, but I will not. I am tired of mediocre football. I want a winner. And please don't even try to tell me we are a winner because we beat a bad Miami team. Look at Gailey's record with this team including this year. He is a loser as a head coach and when his team wins it is in spite of him and not because of him.
-
So using your logic, it's okay for the offense to not score a touchdown because we won the game. Let's continue that trend and see how many games we win the rest of the way. It's NOT okay and will NOT lead to more wins. Just as happy to get a win as anybody else, but it was a game that we dominated and the play calling was questionable at best.
-
Play calling is the absolute culprit in those short yardage situations. There is absolutely no deception and the plays are too slow to develop. In order to make the yardage, it needs to be a quick hit and by the time our back gets the ball, the D has already made some penetration. Awful hard to run under those circumstances. I suggest that Chan doesn't give away the play with the formation and use some deception to give the play time to develop. We just don't have that smash mouth back that you can just line up, hand it off and just ram it through.

The team is not out of Playoff Hunt
xsoldier54 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew I would see one of these threads this morning. So the Bills completely stink up the place offensively against a not very good Miami team and suddenly they are a playoff team? Our offense failed to score a touchdown last night. They are going nowhere. They barely held on to win a game that should have been a blowout. Chan Gailey wouldn't know how to call a game if his life depended on it. Once again last night, the defense made adjustments at halftime to what he was doing and once again, he could not counter. This team will finish at 6-10 or 7-9 at best. Love my Bills, but they just aren't very good. -
Our offense failed to score a touchdown. How many games do you think a team can win like that? Once again, the defense adjusted to what Chan was doing in the second half and once again, he failed to adjust and we did nothing. He needs to go. Make no mistake. We were lucky to hold on and win this game even though we completeley dominated in the first half. The second half was nothing but ugly offensively.

This is a nationally televised game. Anyone remember Fitz last performance in a nationally televised game. Even the perception of a large audience and a bit of pressure and this guy will fold like a cheap tent. It ain't gonna be pretty tonight. Bet on it.

Steve Mariucci sees bright future for Fitzpatrick in Buffalo
xsoldier54 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. If he had watched Fitz week in and week out like the rest of us, I'm sure he would have a different opinion. And his comments about the running game are laughable as well. Buffalo has two of the best RB's in the league and Chan refuses to just hand them the ball. He's in Buffalo and is playing to the home crowd. -
The problem as I see it is Gailey's continued insistence on throwing the ball 40 times a game while running it less than half that many time. You cannot let a guy like Fitz put the ball in the air 40 times a game. He is bound to throw some INT's. It is a recipe for failure that we just continue to repeat.

Darlene Don't Believe In The No-Win Scenario
xsoldier54 replied to ICanSleepWhenI'mDead's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Lots of work for something so blatantly offensive. -
Those dark blue uniforms were never supposed to be worn blue on blue or white on white. When they were unveiled, the home uniform was the blue jersey with white pants and the away was the blue pants with white jersey. For some reason, they never wore them that way after the unveiling.
-
Why would comments from a crack head like Michael Irvin bother you? He was fired from ESPN for being a drug addict. And besides, they really are who we thought they were.
-
Bet there is a young coordinator that would be willing to come here for the opportunity to be HC. The problem, as I see it is in finding the right one. I believe that the biggest problem with the team is the coaching staff. Particularly on defense, they are clueless. They need to find a hungry coordinator looking to make a name for himself and let him build a staff of real football coaches that understand today's NFL. I think this is realistic and should be the approach this offseason. Chan has proven that he's in over his head. Yes, he seems to be able to put points on the board most weeks, but to have a talent like C.J. Spiller and give him 9 carries tells me he is too smart for his own good. It's really not that difficult to design an offense around a talent like this, but he continues to under use him. He's got to go and we need a more aggressive younger guy to come in and put some fire in these guys bellies.

Fitzpatrick on Spikes: 'I think he's a punk at times'
xsoldier54 replied to Lofton80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally I was hoping Fitz would have to take a few plays off. Nothing serious, but maybe enough so that he doesn't throw that pick at the end. -
Jerry Sullivan can go to hell
xsoldier54 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a cure for Jerry Sullivan. It's called WINNING. When a team is as bad as the Bills for as long as they have been, they deserve whatever they get. If they want to hear some positive reporting how about winning some football games? -
T.J. takes blame for INT at end

I still want to replace him. A decent QB sees that and doesn't make that throw. -
BILLS @ PATS 11/11/2012 Game Thread
xsoldier54 replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zombies? Zombies? Really, that's the best you can do? Name calling? Just because you heard the announcer say he should have cut underneath does not make it so. Didn't look like there was room there to me. He would have been squeezed between the DB and LB, there would not have been room to get a throw in there. Instead he went outside where he was open and Fitz threw it behind him for the INT. -

xsoldier54 replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no way he could have cut underneath on that play. Don't believe what you hear the announcers say. There wasn't room to cut underneath. It was another poor decision and poor throw by Fitz, once again proving why this team will never be a winner with him at the helm. He always manages to throw an INT in crucial situations. -
After only 8 games it has happened

Losing at home to Tennessee was the nail in the coffin. They were toast after that.
