  1. This is a fun thread just for speculation. I say 10 wins as well. Where they come from is anybody's guess. NFL is week to week. Some teams are very consistent throughout the year, some not so much. If we play consistently good football, we have a shot to win 10.
  2. Not sure that I have seen enough film of him to notice the "obvious", but did anyone else notice how many times Joe Thiesman called him Coach Maroon?
  3.
  4. That's what I love about this board. It's the eternal optimism of the members. Yes, let's all set our sights on 5-7 wins and be happy with that. The fact is that until we are a few weeks into the season, nobody knows what kind of team this will be. And even then, things can change very rapidly during the course of the season. That is why I never look at the schedule before the season starts and try and predict how many games the team will win. Our team and every team on the schedule changes as the season goes on. I agree with you that we should enjoy the season and root for our Bills to win each and every week. Let's just see how things play out. Enjoy the games brother.
  5. I think that Leinart obviously makes it as the #2 with either Lewis or Tuel as #3 and the other to the PS. Manuel would have been #1 regardless of the Kolb situation.
  6. Based on what? The Redskins game? I love the doom and gloom on this board. Brings me a laugh almost every time. Why don't we see how things shake out after about four weeks of the regular season before we throw in the towel? That should give us a little more of an idea of how good this team is than three pre-season games.
  7. For those of us that live too far away to get to SJF, your posts have been a Godsend. Thanks for sharing your insights thus far and I look forward to reading more.
  8. Gil Brandt on Sirius/XM NFL radio predicted that Manuel would be the first QB taken. He loved the pick. Who would you rather have making a draft choice for you, Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless or Gil Brandt? I'll take Gil thank you very much.
  9. It's still a pre-season game. The final score means nothing. What means something is how the team and individuals perform in a game situation. I don't think you can read too much into a pre-season game. Measuring stick? Not so sure. It depends on how many reps the first team gets against the opponents first team.
  10. Really good to see. The good guys rarely get the media coverage. It's usually the ones that are doing something stupid. Kudos to Arthur Moats for being a good guy.
  11. Guys you are making too much out of this. Tuel was hurt most of his college careeer. He went undrafted because he did not have enough of a body of work because of injury. All I said was that he has potential and would be a decent backup with the hope that we won't need him. I stand by that and he does have talent. He was very highly regarded after his freshman year then had a series of injuries. I did not predict greatness for him, and I disagreed with the OP that he would win the starting job. I just said that he has potential and provides depth at a position where it has been sorely lacking. I thought that was a fairly harmless assessment, but obviously some people here are experts on Tuel and have seen every pass that he has ever thrown and thus are much more qualified to judge his abilities as a BACKUP QB.
  12. Tuel leaves WSU as the most accurate quarterback in school history, completing 61.4 percent of his passes. I guess impressive is in the eye of the beholder. I am not saying that he will ever be our starter, but what I DID say is that he provides depth at the position which is something that has been sorely lacking in recent years. I wasn't putting too much credence in his performance in a pre-season game against backups. In fact, if you actually read my post, I said "Let's hope we don't need him this year.", implying that he will be a backup. I was merely trying to acknowledge to the OP that he does have potential. And if you don't like the word then too bad. It is defined as thus, 1. The inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or coming into being. 2. Something possessing the capacity for growth or development. By the way, the word cliche usually refers to a phrase or expression, not a single word like "potential". It's definition is as follows. "a trite, stereotyped expression; a sentence or phrase, usually expressing a popular or common thought or idea" So I have to disregard your criticism since you didn't even understand my original post.
  13. Tuel does have potential, I will give you that. But he is not winning the QB competition by any stretch of the imagination. He will be the 3rd QB and rightfully so. It's good to have some depth at the position and he provides that. Let's hope he is not needed this year.
  14. Powell's net average was 38.1 yards, his % inside the 20 was 35.4. Moorman's net for the first three games was 32.7, his career inside the 20 % is 28.9. At this point, Powell is just younger and better. Nothing against Brian Moorman, he was good for a long time, but had a hard time with directional punting and it was time for a change.
  15. Great Idea. That would be a Clowney move bro.
  16. "Well I had a dream the other night,You were in a bar in the corner on a chair. Wearing a long white leather coat, Purple glasses and glitter in your hair. And you said, Hey this is where I wanna sit and buy you a drink someday." Chris Cornell from Temple of the Dog
  17. Yeah, because no other players do endorsements and of course all that do get hurt. As for the picture, get over yourself. I served 23 years and I found the picture and the shirt funny. Injuries happen, it is a part of the game. Unfortunate when it happens, but rarely the player's fault.
  18. Thanks for sharing the experience. Gotta disagree about Fort Worth though. Next time take a trip down to the stockyards and to Billy Bob's. It was featured in the movie Urban Cowboy and is a sight to behold. Indoor rodeo arena, mechanical bull and a nightclub where top country acts perform. Great place. Lots to see in the stockyard area and a very historical place. This is where most cattle drives ended back in the day as the cows were put on trains to supply the folks up north.
  19. That's what I love about this board. It's the unbridled optimism.
  20. Not sure that I understand. 'A beautiful river' is "une belle rivière" in French. In what way does that become Buffalo?
  21. Didn't have any problem voting. C'mon people, can't let our Bills lose to those bland Steelers uniforms.
