  1. I kind of got the feeling that he was intentionally throwing the ball away in some of those situations, rather than taking the hit or sack. I was thinking maybe the coaches had spoken to him about taking too many sacks.
  2. And I'm not angry or hysterical. I am a realist. And living in the real world, this team has talent, but they are not playing like a good football team or one that is even close to being good. Good teams do not give away games that they should win and this team has done that 3 times this year. 3 out of the 5 losses were games that they should have won, but managed to lose. If that isn't cause for getting rid of the coaching staff, I don't know what is. It is the coaches job to get the team prepared to win football games. When the team does not respond, even though they have the talent, then that falls on the coaches and they need to be fired. That is my realistic assessment of the situation.
  3. I admire your optimism and wish I could share it. I just don't see it happening though. I'm not even sure they will win against the Jets at home on Sunday. Last Sunday and Thursday were both games that they could have and should have won. They played so poorly though that they just gave those two games away. I see no end in sight to our misery. At least not this year.
  4. This. Whaley has made some good moves in all three areas, the draft, FA and trades. Not every single move is going to pan out, but he has made enough good ones to make me a believer. The problem with this team is not the GM. They have enough talent to win. They are playing poorly and not up to their talent level and that is a product of coaching. I have defended Marrone and even been patient with Hackett, but over the past few weeks it has become more and more obvious that the coaching staff is the achilles heel of this team. Marrone and Hackett need to go.
  5. Because our team sucks. AGAIN! Exactly the opposite of what two losses in one week against teams that you should beat will do.
  6. Hate to say it, but I saw this one coming. After the way they played on Sunday and giving away the game to KC, I fully expected to lose last night. When I saw the early FG's instead of TD's I said yep this one is not going to end well. None of it surprised me and until this team shows some backbone and starts winning games like these two, they will never get over the hump. It's amazing how Orton has regressed these past two games. He played pretty well up to then, but he has been bad these last two games. And don't get me started on Hacket. He doesn't even have the right personnel packages in the game to fit the situation, so how could the offense possibly succeed? He is not putting them in a position to succeed.
  7. Orton is one of the problems, but by far not the only one. Once again last night, offensive personnel packages were not matched to the situation and the play calling was horrendous. Orton was bad as well and those two things combined led to a terrible offensive performance.
  8. Another game pissed away by poor offense. I haven't been hard on Marrone thus far, but this team has too much talent to be playing like this. Marrone and Hacket must go. And may as well start E.J. from here on out because the season is now officially over.
  9. I will move on to next week, just like always.
  10. I say 9 as well and I don't see them getting there at this point. Looks like we will have another coaching change to look forward to this off season.
  11. Not to mention the Houston game. They have already proved to be the "same old Bills". The final straw was the KC game on Sunday. Absolutely gave it away. How many times have we seen that over the years. This team has not shown that they are any different in terms of winning games that they need to win. They will lose on Thursday night and it will go downhill from there. Sunday assured us of that.
  12. Those misses were bad, but you can't be serious. Without the two fumbles, we win by 14.
  13. After that performance on Sunday they should be pissed. Because that is exactly what they did. They pissed away a win and quite possibly their chances of making the playoffs this season. Looking at the schedule and being realistic, the very best I see them finishing is 9-7 and I don't believe that will be good enough. I would be pissed too. In fact, I am.
  14. And rightfully so. After that pathetic performance yesterday, I wouldn't put the Bills as favorites against anybody.
  15. Obviously they have been talking to him about throwing the ball away instead of taking sacks. He did just that. Orton had an off day for sure, but we still win the game without those two fumbles. Period, McKelvin's was even more egregious than Brown's because it wasn't the defense making a play, it was just him being stupid. No way he should have fumbled that ball. He could have even fair caught it and we still win the game. Pathetic and he has been making boneheaded plays like this for years.
  16. This. Did you really watch yesterday's game? That was not the performance of a good football team by any stretch of the imagination. They constantly made mistakes that kept them from scoring TD's and the two fumbles were just plays that good teams do not do. Sorry, but even though they are more talented, this team doesn't look much different to me than what we have been looking at these past 14 years. Their biggest strength is being able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  17. It's over brother. Our playoff chances went down the tubes with the McKelvin fumble yesterday., This team is not going to win 5 of 7. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but they just aren't good enough to pull off a run like that against quality teams. If nothing else, yesterday proved that.
  18. When the Bills lose again and are out of playoff contention, then maybe. Orton has been head and shoulders better than EJ and as long as there is the remotest chance of making the playoff, Orton is and should be the starting QB. Now can we please stop the nonsense about benching Orton and bringing in the kid that has no clue how to play QB in the NFL yet? Orton is not Peyton Manning, but he is by far better than EJ. He had a bad day, get over it. This.
  19. Here we go again with people defining for us what a true fan is. I have been watching this team since it's inception and I will continue to root for them to win each and every Sunday regardless of their record. After watching them perform yesterday and blow yet another game that they should have won, I don't believe there is a snowball's chance in hell that this team makes the playoffs this year. I was hoping for the best and truly believed that they would beat KC at home. Playoff teams do not give away games that they should win. They win them. This one, plus the Houston game tells me that this team is not yet over the hump. Sorry if that doesn't meet your definition of a "true fan", but I know what I am seeing and I have seen it before. It hurts me, but again, you just can't give away games in the NFL and expect to make the playoffs. It just is not realistic.
  20. It won't make a difference one way or the other. Losing yesterday assured that we will not make the playoffs again this year. Beating the Dolphins or losing to them will have zero impact because even if we win, we still have lost too many games at this stage of the season. I see at least three more losses on the schedule and that would make seven even if we beat Miami. Yesterday's loss was a back breaker IMO.
  21. This, I still don't understand why this team can't find a decent tight end. Chandler, even when he makes the catch looks like he is running in quicksand and falls down the minute he is touched. There has got to be someone better than him out there. The whiff on the fumble was a tough one because it happened fast, but he definitely had his hands on the ball and dropped it.
  22. You're right, no way to know for sure because it didn't happen. We didn't kick the field goal and we didn't stop them on 3rd and 8 to get the ball back sooner. We lost the game and we lost it on stupid mistakes. The fumbles, the missed throws in the red zone and yes the play calling and decision making. It was one big "Aw ****" kind of day.
  23. I truly admire your optimism. And I wish I could share it, but I have seen this movie so many times it's like Groudhog's Day for me. I know how this movie ends and it ain't pretty. If we were going to make the playoffs, we absolutely needed to win that game yesterday. Losing it was inexcusable and for me it spells the end of our chance of making the playoffs. Watching the rest of the games will be my Sunday entertainment, just like always, but I truly do not expect a run at the playoffs. At best, maybe 8-8, but even that may be far fetched at this point.
  24. At first I couldn't remember the exact moment because like I said, I kind of had a bad feeling all day. Then I remembered the offensive PI call on Chandler. At that exact moment I thought "Oh ****, we're going to lose this game." Not sure why it hit me just then, but it definitely did.
