Bills awarded TE MarQueis Gray from Vikings
xsoldier54 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was wondering if anyone noticed the plays by Gray. He looks like he could be a useful weapon. Eventually they had to find someone better than Chandler. Watching Chandler is like watching ground hogs day. Catch the ball, someone chops his legs and down he goes. At least Gray can move the ball a bit after the catch. He had a nice game. -
It was another solid win. Nothing fancy on offense, in fact the play calling was just about as bad as always. This defense is epic however, and this win is clearly on them.

I was at that game too and I don't remember it being cold at all. I just remember how much fun it was and thinking "We're going to the Super Bowl." I agree with Promo that it doesn't seem like fun when the team is getting their asses handed to them and the weather sucks, but I have enough good memories of games in bad weather that I don't think I would want a covered stadium.

I have been to games at the Ralph in December. If you dress like's it's December in WNY, you won't "freeze your azz off". Dress for the weather and have a few pops of anti-freeze and you'll be fine. Man up or you might as well stay home and watch on TV. Ever been to a game in one of these new indoor or retractable roof stadiums? It feels like you are inside an aircraft hangar. Not my cup of tea at all.

Forget a domed stadium for Buffalo. Being outdoors at the Ralph is part of the charm of gameday. Yes this latest storm was a terrible thing, but I would remind people that this is the only time since the Bills have been in Buffalo that a game has had to be cancelled because of weather. Having teams come to RWS late in the season used to be a tremendous advantage back when we had a decent team. I for one think the indoor stadiums make the game lose some of it's appeal. Those old NFL games in places like Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Cleveland and even NY were classics. Players had to tough it out and beat the conditions. I enjoyed watching that.

The Bills already gave us our Thanksgiving treat. Lots of other things to be thankful for. God Bless you my fellow TBD'ers. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Why I think Marrone should be fired...
xsoldier54 replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the jury is still out on whether he will be back. Finish strong and he's back. Collapse at the end and he's gone. I think it's as simple as that. Depends on how the team does these last five games. -
Of course the KC loss had nothing to do with the McKelvin fumble that led directly to the winning TD, or the Brown fumble that took 7 Bills points off the board. It was all on Orton. In case you only watch the Bills games, every QB in the league misses throws to open receivers every single week. It was not Orton that caused the KC loss it was turnovers.

Jets at Bills MNF - 1st Half Game Thread

Disagree. You lose momentum when you leap. He needed to try and get some leg drive going. It was only a yard to go. -
Bills season done in by weather?
xsoldier54 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me too. I knew it was over after they gave away the KC game. I saw the Miami loss coming and it will only get worse, weather or no weather. Wow! -
LOl only the ones in my head. I know people are reluctant to believe this, and I'm not even sure that I do, but this one had all the earmarks. I'll bet the mob made millions on that game. Too much money at stake to just dismiss the possibility. I knew these kinds of arguments would come up. I'm not saying that I'm absolutely certain, just that I suspected it might happen and it did. Others may not agree and that's OK, I just think that with all of the money at stake, it is a possibility. That's all.

There have been a few threads on here about the NFL being fixed. I somehow had a feeling before the game that the Chiefs would lose. Nobody in their right mind would have bet on Oakland. And sure enough it happened. Coincidence? I didn't watch the game, so I don't know. Just seems awful fishy to me that a team that was playing as well as KC lost to Oakland. Doesn't make any sense. And please don't give me that "Any Given Sunday" defense. This one had all the earmarks of a fix.

Bills to play Jets in Detroit 7pm Monday
xsoldier54 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What about Rogers Centre and Wembley Stadium? -
Practice? We don't need no stinking practice. Hard to imagine them playing much worse than they have the past two games when they actually did practice. Maybe not practicing is the answer.

Maybe the Bills are not So Bad After All
xsoldier54 replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well at least you managed to make me laugh. i wouldn't exactly classify any of those teams that you mentioned as good teams. Look you obviously think that the Bills are a good football team and good for you. Actually I don't disagree if you have actually read my posts. What I'm saying is that the HC and OC are holding them back and you just can't seem to accept that. "negative Nancy'? Really? You're killing me. Never said that. I don't believe that they have "overwhelming talent". I do believe that they have enough talent to win if they weren't being poorly coached. Sorry if you don't agree, but it's just my opinion. If you have a different one, then great. Yours is worth as much as mine. I just don't happen to agree with you and I don't really mind if you don't agree with me. -

Whaley a QB short and a WR too Early
xsoldier54 replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thinking was that EJ was the QB they wanted, so they figured their QB was in place and they were trying to give him a solid weapon to exploit. The first assumption proved wrong, so maybe in hindsight it is the wrong move, but at the time it made perfect sense. Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20 and there are no do overs. You have to go with your best analysis at the time and you don't get to wait 6 months to make the decision. -

Whaley is doing a fine job. Bill Polian had his day and he didn't build a championship team in one off season. I am very satisfied with our current GM and the moves that he has made. It is time for him to step up this off season though and get rid of the HC and OC. Marrone was an up and comer at the time, but he has proven to me over the past season and a half that he is not the right answer and Hacket is just pathetic. -

Well if you can't even identify which teams we lost to that we should have beaten then I can understand your dilemma. For me those games were not New England or San Diego, they clearly were outplayed in those two games. The other three losses however were all winnable games. They gave away three games, the Houston game, the KC game and the second Miami game. Again, that comes down to coaching (for the third time). You don't need an outside evaluation to tell you that. Teams that lose games that they have no business losing are not well coached. Period. I agree with you that they are not far off. They need an upgrade on the OL and tried to address that in the draft. They found two starters, but still need help at G. Changing coaches is not the only change that is needed, but I believe with a different HC and OC this team is 7-2 right now with not a single personnel change. -

Because they won those games late does not mean that they should have lost them. Chicago has proven that they are not a very good team and ditto with Minnesota and we barely manged to beat those teams. Beating Detroit proves my point even further. This team has talent, but they have played poorly and lost games against inferior teams that they had no business losing to. Again, that falls on the coaches. That is as real as it gets. And since when does realism equate to angry? In what universe is that true? Certainly not in the one that I live in. But then again, your comments indicate you may be living on another plane from the rest of us. -

I like McKelvin as a DB as well. Just don't think he belongs returning kicks. Was sad to see him go down. -
Josh Gordon no guarantee to play when eligible

Wait you play in 15 fantasy leagues? I play in two and I thought that the second one may be excessive, lol.
