  1. I agree things look pretty chaotic right now. I believe within the next couple of weeks, the dust will settle and we can all move forward. Looking forward to a new HC actually. I don't think I ever trashed Marrone on here, but I'm sure that I did Hacket. I'm glad he's gone. This team is too talented on the offensive side of the ball to perform the way it did this year. I'm hoping the new OC can get the most of the talent we have. Of course a lot depends on who the QB is and the system, but it will be interesting to see how all that plays out.
  2. The source of all of that speculation is Tim Graham. 'Nuff said. I don't believe any of it unless he names his source. Otherwise I think he is just speculating as has no source. Just stirring things up and I'm not buying any of it.
  3. I actually think Schwartz makes the most sense for continuity sake. Eh would be Gase Hell No to Rex Ryan
  4. Most NFL HC's do better the second time around. I'd take Schwartz in a heartbeat. It would allow the team to keep the defensive system intact and just hire an OC with some experience. In my mind, that's a win win.
  5. Concur with everyone on this one. Whaley is the right guy to pick the HC and I think it will work out better than having a guy that you couldn't trust.
  6. It will be fine. Polian is way past his prime and has been out of the league for awhile now. Marrone was a good coach who didn't have a clue about who to trust with the offense. He will be easily replaced and there is enough talent on this team to make the playoffs next year with the right leadership in place. It sucks to start over again with a new coach, but I'm hoping they get the right guy and he hires a competent OC. My best case would be to hire Schwartz as HC, keep the same defensive system and get a good OC to utilize the talent that we have on that side of the ball. Of course a lot depends on who the QB is but that was true even before Marrone left.
  7. I hope Marrone lands flat square on his ass with no job at all. Take your 4 million and go home because you will never be a HC again in this league Dougie.
  8. Can't say I really disliked him until he left. I don't like the way the whole thing went down and it seems that Marrone has a very high opinion of himself. He didn't earn an extension. Still had a losing record over two season and still didn't make the playoffs. None of us knows what went on behind closed doors, but it seems he tried to put pressure on the owners and they weren't having it. Sucks to start over again, but in the long run it may be for the best as I don't believe Marrone was going to get us over the hump.
  9. Yeah, fire him. Fire the guy that brought in Orton, Thigpen, Gray, had a great draft with three draft picks starting. That's the solution. Fire the guy that is building the roster into a winner. Great idea.
  10. I say Josh McKown. Free agent with lots of experience.
  11. Thank you Captain Optimism. Let's just see how things play out before all the doom and gloom. I don't think Orton would have been the starter next year anyway and I think he probably knew it. Is it EJ? Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell, but there is a very long off season before we will know who our next QB will be and if it will be the right guy.
  12. Enjoy your retirement. Retired from the Army after 23 years service in 2000. Life goes on and all the best. Thank you for serving our great nation.
  13. Hacket has got to go. IMO he is the reason this team did not make the playoffs. They lost too many winnable games because of poor play calling and misuse of personnel on offense. Get a proven OC and this is a playoff team with no other changes.
  14. It is the play calling that has ruined the rushing attack. Instead of just pounding the ball against weak run defenses he repeatedly calls almost exclusively pass plays. Hard for the run game to succeed when he won't even use it against even the worst run defenses. No mystery here, it's Hacket and his idiotic play calling.
  15. Cutler is a big crybaby. He is getting what he deserves. No thanks.
  16. That penalty by Glenn was quite possibly one of the dumbest things I have ever witnessed. Took them right out of FG range. I can't even fathom how you do that in that situation.
  17. Discipline will not help bad calls. You're right the Denver game was an embarrassment. For the officials! That was quite possibly the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed. No amount of discipline would have prevented those calls.
  18. In fact, I think just the opposite. Fred should come out and be replaced by Dixon on third or fourth and short situations.
  19. This game turned on two early calls. The phantom illegal contact that allowed Denver to score a touchdown instead of a field goal and the illegal block in the back on the INT return. That ended up being a 40 yard penalty. It took us from the Denver 20 to our own 38. If those two calls had not been made, I firmly believe we would have gone up 7-3 instead of being down 14-3 and that makes for a whole different ball game. Those two calls resulted in a possible 11 point swing in a game that we lost by 7. There were other calls that were similar, but it was clear from the very beginning that the NFL was not going to allow Buffalo to win this game. Every single time they did something good, the officials took it away. Make no mistake, it was not the HC or OC that lost this game for the Bills. It was a done deal from the first quarter on. The fix was in. I know this won't be a very popular opinion, but I have been watching the NFL long enough that I could see very early on where this game was headed. Coincidence? I don't think so.
  20. Odds of that are about a billion to one.
  21. I haven't really noticed anything unusual with the PS. Players are signed to and cut from the PS every year on a fairly regular basis.
  22. Blowouts happen. Even to good teams. I wouldn't quite put the Bills in the category of a good team just yet. So if it happens, it happens. We move on to next week.
  23. Agree with this and also, the personnel packages don't seem to match the situation or play. Fred Jackson is not a third or fourth and short back. How many times have we seen him fail to get the first down in these situations. That's what you have Boobie Dixon and Summers for. Fred and Bryce Brown are good choices if you are going to run on first or second down, but once it gets to third and short, you have got to have Dixon and/or Summers in the game.
  24. Yes I watched the game. What I was referring to was this thread. I was going to start a Gray thread myself, but then noticed this one.
  25. I completely agree. How could anyone in their right mind have reversed this call. Unless of course the league wanted to showcase Manziel by showing the TD he scored and not have to sully it with the fact that he lost a fumble for a Bills TD. If you watched the Sunday night highlight show before the game on NBC, of course that is exactly what happened. Johnny football had a wonderful debut, scoring a TD on his first ever possession.
