  1. So you don't think that Rex Ryan is an upgrade over Doug Maroon at HC? And you don't believe that Roman is more qualified as an OC than Hacket? I see both as huge upgrades. The defense will be fine. They played Ryan's system two years ago and that didn't work out too badly.
  2. Couldn't disagree more. We had 9 wins this year and almost all were due to a stellar defense. The offense was putrid.
  3. From what I read, Harbaugh was over ruling play calls this year and forcing SF to pass more. When left to his own devices, Roman's offense performed just fine. Still way too many big plays in the run game under Pettine. Much better against the run this year while maintaining pressure on the QB.
  4. The ball did not stay in his hands. It came out and then he caught it again. Incomplete pass. Plain and simple.
  5. This. Get me a couple of stud guards this draft and we are set.
  6. Is Roman a done deal? Haven't seen anything saying he has agreed to take the position.
  7. You do realize that Roman focuses on the running game right? Get me some decent guards and pound the freakin rock.
  8. QB drafting is mostly a crap shoot these days. Very few "sure fire" things coming out of college. When there is one available it pays to have the number one pick. Will be interesting to see who the OC ends up being and how this all shakes out.
  9. That's what I love about this forum. It's the unbridled optimism. Kudos.
  10. I completely disagree. First of all it won't be 20/30 people. More like 10. It is a thorough process and I for one am all for it. The Pegulas are taking the right approach by being patient, evaluating the options and making a logical decision. I know people want this situation resolved, but just making a decision does not make it a good and well thought out decision.
  11. This. They are going through a process and it will take time. I like the approach that they are using and I feel confident they will get the guy that they want in the end.
  12. Beckham wasn't getting much action until the WR corps in NY got decimated by injuries. He then became the go to guy and with great results. My guess is that if he were here, he would have been used much the same as Watkins and the results would have been similar.
  13. This team was very close this year. The O-Line was putrid and the QB situation and play calling was at the heart of the reason we didn't make the playoffs. With a better coached offense and better game management with regard to playcalling this is a playoff team right now.
  14. Sure, if there are that many that are qualified and have applied. The interviews help sort things out. You narrow it down, then do a second round and if need be narrow it and do it again til you have the person you want.
  15. Not sure why that would be the case. When we do interviews, the questions are pre-printed and answers are recorded. After the interview the hiring staff reviews the answers and grades them accordingly and makes recommendations for hire. Final say is the person who is doing the hiring, but a staff evaluates the candidates and makes recommendations in writing as well as discussing their recommendations with the hiring manager. I'm sure that the Pegulas are savvy enough to sort through the candidates and listen to recommendations and make a decision.
  16. What if he isn't waaaay worse? What if he's waaaay better?
  17. All you needed to say was that it was a Sullivan piece. Complete drivel.
  18. Love this. Had my first chemo and radiation treatments today for tonsil cancer. Needed a good laugh. Thanks.
  19. BS. It was more than face guarding. That's what they said to save face and looks like you bought it hook line and sinker. I watched the replay and there was contact as well as defensive holding on the play. When the defender does not play the ball and makes contact with the receiver without turning around it is always PI. They not only called that one, but two defensive holding calls on the subsequent drive that allowed Dallas to score the winning TD. The fix was in.
  20. Just watched the draft day video. Very little of Marrone in it. It's mostly Brandon and Whaley and others. Marrone was in the room for part of it, but didn't see him when the trade went down.
  21. Very sorry to hear this news. RIP Stuart Scott. You will be missed in the sports world.
  22. I was thinking the same thing. I hope the bastard never coaches in the NFL again. The owners are a tight group, so I hope they blackball him. Let him take his 4 million and never earn another dime in the NFL.
  23. LOL so the Bills are SCREWED? Is that what you're trying to say here? I think you are dead wrong. Marrone was a middling coach and his buddy Hackett was a hack. With no changes to the defense and a competent HC and OC, this is a playoff team right now. They mismanaged the talent that they had on offense and coached their way out of the playoffs this year. I believe with a competent HC and OC this team makes the playoffs next year with very few changes on either side of the ball. They don't even really need a "franchise" QB, just a competent guy to work with the OC and use the talent that they already have.
  24. I don't agree either that major retooling is needed. There is enough talent on both sides of the ball to be a playoff team right now. Marrone and his buddy Hacket mismanaged the offensive weapons that were at their disposal and IMO all that is needed is a competent HC and OC. If the Bills FO can manage that then this team is a force to be reckoned with next season.
