  1. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen. Mario had 19 tackles last year and 5 sacks. My guess is that whoever replaces him beats those numbers, so did we really get worse and did Miami really get better? Time will tell. Personally I don't want a guy on my team that quits on his teammates.
  2. Absolute stud? He had 19 tackles in 15 games. Hell I could do that. He didn't put forth any effort because he didn't believe in the scheme and he hurt the defense badly last year. Good riddance.
  3. The British Empire was one of the most barbaric in the history of the world and now they have the gall to complain about a sports team's nickname? How about fixing some of the damage they did to nations that they occupied during the reign of the British Empire.
  4. The premise of the article was that Manning gets a pass on bad behaviour because he's white, while Cam Newton got criticized after the SB because he's black. They dredged up 20 year old information to try and prove the point, It was a race baiting article. My point is that the two things are not related and neither has anything to do with race.
  5. This incident is 20 years old. It was public knowledge for quite some time. It is not new information. It was not hidden it was in the news when it happened and also many times thereafter. So your contention that "peyton not so much" is completely wrong. Well then you missed the point. The only reason this is being brought up now is because of race. It is an old story and has been public knowledge for years. The only reason it is being discussed at all right now is because of this race baiting reporter.
  6. Well that's what the article was about. It was about the fact that people aren't criticizing Manning for what he did 20 years ago because he is white and they are criticizing Cam Newton for what he did after the SB because he's black. Race baiting was the motivation for the article. The article that prompted this whole discussion was about race. It contended that Manning gets a pass because he's white and Newton gets criticized because he's black.
  7. To not look at the race issue regarding this article takes it completely out of the context in which it was written. It was a race baiting article. Nobody disagrees that if the allegations are true then what the Mannings did was despicable. Most people would agree with that. The point of the article though was that Manning gets a pass because he's white and people are criticizing Cam Newton because he's black. The fact is that Manning's behavior 20 years ago has nothing to do with Cam Newton's behavior after the Super Bowl. It has nothing to do with race either.
  8. I know this has been stated here before, but I don't think people are getting it as the discussion goes on and on. This incident with Peyton Manning happened 20 years ago. He was 19. That doesn't excuse it for sure, but his behavior 20 years ago has nothing to do with Cam Newton's behavior after the SB. The article was racially motivated and it has done it's job because people are still talking about it as if it were relevant. It's not.
  9. This. Absolutely unequivocally agree 100%. Tabloid journalism and race baiting at it's best.
  10. This is the New York Daily News. Nuff said.
  11. Can't agree with Beebe. He didn't have the stats of the other receivers of his era because he was a complimentary piece. He played his role well and contributed when called upon.
  12. Used to go to the playoff games during the Super Bowl run. Awesome atmosphere.
  13. The Pro Bowl exposed TT Game? You lost me right there. The Pro Bowl is an exhibition game. If you watched at all, he just heaved the ball up hoping someone would make a play. He doesn't take those kinds of chances in a real game and never will. The Pro Bowl? C'mon man.

  17. Whaley is a good solid GM. Extending him was a smart move.
  18. This. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/01/07/pro-pffs-2015-nfl-quarterback-rankings/ Looks to me like he is already ranked in the top 10 in the league at least by this group.
  19. I will not be excited about next year until the team starts to perform consistently. They year's team, just like every other team in the past few years was wildly inconsistent. Nothing they can do in the off season is going to get me excited or raise my expectations until I see the results on the field.
  20. And how do you know that Tyrod is not capable of winning playoff games? I believe he is perfectly capable if the team around him performs the way they should. The problem this year was the defense, not the offense, so how is a different QB going to help the defense perform better?
  21. Have you watched EJ play? You have to be joking.
  22. RB/FB is the least of our worries. We need some help at LB, safety, CB and DL. I would spend most of the draft on that side of the ball. If a WR looks good then take him as well.
  23. I have to admit that after watching this team this year, I have no idea what to expect next year. They could be better and end the drought and they might just get worse. I have absolutely no idea. Just can't get a read on what kind of team we will have next year.
  24. After yesterday, Seattle looks poised to make a run again. In the AFC, Pats look beatable, I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh.
