Peterman will be the starter.
xsoldier54 replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cardale won't last on the PS. We could try to put him there but someone will snap him up to their active roster. My guess is he gets cut and we end up with TT, Peterman and Yates on the active roster. -
Peterman will be the starter.
xsoldier54 replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely ridiculous. Peterman will not be the starter this year. He may eventually, but not this year. And if two first round picks isn't enough to trade up to get one of the top QB's next year, then so be it. -
Bills Decline 5th Year Option on Sammy Watkins
xsoldier54 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he does, he won't be on the field and other teams will take notice. Makes sense for him to take it like a man and play for the big contract. -
That's ridiculous. Because the two teams run different types of offenses is no basis for eliminating someone from consideration. A GM needs to be able to work with the HC and draft players that fit the coaches philosophy. Every draft is different, every HC is different. Do you think that because Carolina runs a different offense that Beane is only capable of drafting one type of player? Makes no sense to me at all.

And you got your psychology degree and leadership experience where exactly? I spent 23 years in the military and have a Masters in Leadership education. I see none of the things you mentioned when I have watched McDermott. I see a man who is confident in his abilities and has a system that he intends to implement. Whether or not this is going to lead to success remains to be seen. Being overly analytical watching someone you have no personal contact with, however, is an exercise in futility. As others have stated, he is our coach and all we can do is support him in his efforts to make this team viable again. Time will tell, but there is definitely no evidence for the claims that you have made.

Want to see some proof that McDermott "stole the draft board from Carolina". It is not at all uncommon for teams to speculate about what another team might do before taking action. If McDermott had an inkling of what Carolina might do and the players were guys that Buffalo wanted, then he has a responsibility to try and get those guys before Carolina does. Nothing immoral about it. It's just good smart business.

5 QBs, only 3 will be retained.

Cardale wouldn't last on the practice squad. Someone will sign him to their active roster. I agree he's probably the odd man out along with Woodrum, but he definitely would not last on the practice squad. -
Breer: Bills an organization that is still broken.
xsoldier54 replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What? Based on what exactly? They have had zero success. It was time to make this move. Whaley was a holdover to the Ralph Wilson, Buddy Nix regime. Firing him does not mean the organization is "broken". Just that ownership recognized the need for change and did what they thought was best. Makes perfect sense and I applaud them. -
Really, the only time was when Polian was GM? Butler did a pretty good job as well. And before the merger, the Bills were perennial winners in the AFL. Whaley was a holdover from the Buddy Nix regime. He needed to go. The owners are cleaning house in the scouting department and with the GM. For me it is a step in the right direction. We'll see how it pans out, but I am excited for the future, not caught up in the past. Always hopeful that we can right the ship and become more consistent contenders. Also, it's only entertainment, not life or death. People's lives will be the same whether the Bills win or lose. Those of us that have been here since the very beginning will continue to hope for the best, but in perspective.

I don't understand the White hate...
xsoldier54 replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems to me the plan is pretty obvious. They were going to draft a corner, plenty of good ones in this draft so they traded back and picked up an extra third rounder this year and an extra first rounder next year. What about that is the least bit complicated or hard to understand? -

How is the value of a first round pick overstated or over rated? It's a first round pick any way you look at it. -
This.

Are the Bills back to being the NFL's farm team?
xsoldier54 replied to BuffBillsForLife's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a team that went 7-9 last year and played well beneath their ability level because of poor coaching. Far from a farm team. If you really believe that, then maybe time to find another team. Bills will be better coached this year and have more depth on the roster. We'll see where that takes us but we are nobody''s "farm team". -
Rotoworld ranks Whaley as worst GM in NFL
xsoldier54 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read the article. It's full of BS. Claims it was Whaley who pushed for EJ Manuel which isn't necessarily true. Also claims that they benched Tyrod that last game of last season because Whaley wanted to let him go, but McDermott convinced ownership to keep him. Also not true. It relies on The Buffalo News for much of it's information, which should be enough to discredit the rating all by itself. -
Running backs expected to be taken between Rounds 4-7

Patriots are signing him as much to weaken the Bills as to fill a need in NE. -
Pats sign Gillislee to offer sheet
xsoldier54 replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quite sure we'll match. That's a pretty reasonable amount for Gillislee. -
Is it okay to have a second team to root for?
xsoldier54 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Growing up in Hornell, we always got the Bills, the Giants and the Browns on TV (before cable). Bills were always number one for me, but I have no problem pulling for those other teams as well. -
We don't have a 7th rounder. Looks like this injury will mean that he won't be drafted. UDFA if he's willing to work his way up the depth chart.

Everyone who follows NFL football remembers the great Jim Kelly. If you don't then you obviously don't know much about NFL history.

Well his Uncle did pretty well while surrounded by and partying with his buddies. It's what happens on the field that counts as long as no laws are broken.

Who is still mad we tanked the Jets game?
xsoldier54 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never was mad because we lost that game. It meant absolutely nothing. I was mad that we didn't show up for the ones that counted. -
Love this draft. Lots of holes addressed.

I don't buy the Bills aren't possibly moving
xsoldier54 replied to KellyToughII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guess it's time for you to find a new team then. I believe the Pegulas bought both the Sabres and Bills in order to prevent exactly what you are proposing. They aren't going anywhere yet there will always be people like you who believe the sky is falling without a lick of evidence to support your claims. You probably believe it is going to rain every single day as well until the sun proves you wrong.
