  1. Looking for discipline. Crispness in and out of the huddle. I want to see the defense look like they have some idea of what the hell they're doing. Not looking for perfection, it's the first pre-season game, but looking to see what impact McDermott and staff are having thus far.
  2. lololol that's why I love coming on here. It's the unbridled optimism of Bills fans. I guarantee you this team will be much better than 5-11. Mark my words.
  3. Welcome to Bills nation. Hope you have your best season yet.
  4. Sean McDermott is NOT Greg Williams. Not even close. Their personalities are polar opposites of one another. McDermott holds players accountable yes, but he doesn't brow beat them.
  5. Oh really? Someone forgot to tell Shannon Sharpe.
  6. You can throw all the numbers out there that you want. RGIII is done. Kaepernick sucks. Hill and Ponder played for different teams under different circumstances. If you're only going to judge a player by statistical analysis then have at it. I like Yates and believe he is and will be better than those other guys. You don't have to agree. You are entitled to your opinion. I just respectfully disagree with your analysis. Numbers are only a part of the equation. He's a good fit for our offensive system and I'll take him.
  7. Yates is better right now than any of those guys that you mentioned, including Kaepernick, RGIII, Shaun HIll, Whitehurst and Ponder. He is an experienced veteran who will run the offense just fine if TT goes down. Peterman has never played a down in the NFL. It would be foolish to pencil him in as #2. Let him learn the game at the NFL level and develop. Then he is ready if and when you need him. What the Bills are doing makes perfect sense and what you are proposing does not. Simple as that.
  8. There are many factors at work here. First, There are 32 NFL teams with 53 roster spots each, making for 1,696 NFL players at any given moment. There are 30 NBA teams with 15 roster spots each, making for 450 NBA players. So naturally, the average salary of an NBA player would be more than an NFL player. Also the percentages are not that far apart. For the NBA I the players receiver 50-51% of revenues generated and from what I can tell from the 2011 CBA restructure, the NFL's is around 46-47%. So the percentages are not that far apart. Maybe the NFL could bump it up by about 4% and it would be exactly the same percentage of revenues. Thirdly, NFL players play 16 regular season games, vs. 82 in the NBA. Both leagues have pre-season and post season games, but again NBA players play significantly more games. All in all, I believe all pro athletes are overpaid for what they do and looking at these numbers, I'd say that while maybe there could be a slight adjustment in percentage of revenues going to NFL players, the current system seems more than fair.
  9. Yes but what the hell is a Redblack?
  10. Gronk is nothing but a buffoon. He is a very talented TE, but there ain't much goin on upstairs. Hard to hate somebody that stupid.
  11. So what, you would have kept the Rex and Rob clown show?
  12. NE overpaid for both Gillislee and Gilmore. They were good players, but not indispensible and not worth the money they got from NE.
  13. Nobody can really predict how many wins this team will have, but I predict that they will be noticeably better. I think this roster has more depth than last year and I truly believe that by getting rid of Rex and Rob the team will be much better prepared each and every week. Looking forward to some entertaining football this season.
  14. I'm quite sure there's some middle ground between these two extremes. That's the place where most of us live.
  15. They didn't sign Yates to release him. They want a veteran backup on the roster. I think JOnes is the one in jeopardy along with Woodrum.
  16. Granted some people will make excuses if the team doesn't do well, but most of us will recognize if we are headed in the right direction or not.
  17. To answer your question, teams have done this very often. When a change is made at GM, often the scouting staff is let go as well. No big deal. Beane has said that he has a list of candidates from around the league. He'll fill those vacancies pretty quickly.
  18. The Pegulas have invested millions in the greater Buffalo area. Not just with the Sabres and Bills, but with the Harbour front area as well. They didn't buy these teams to move them, they bought the teams to keep them in Buffalo and prevent someone else from buying them and moving them. Of course Beane had a leg up because of his working relationship with McDermott. It is extremely important that the coach and GM are on the same page. Ridiculous post.
  19. Jones absolutely starts from day one.
  20. lol I know. Goes without saying.
  21. Actually they interviewed four people. How many would you have preferred? 10? 12? 25? From experience, when you are interviewing people for a job opening, you know when you have found the right person. Four candidates is plenty. They found the one they liked and hired him. Some people will complain no matter what this team does. How about we wait and see what Beane and McDermott can build together before we start crying about the process?
  22. You do realize that it isn't their money right. They money that you are talking about comes out of the operating budgets of two businesses that they own. It doesn't affect their bank account one iota. It affects the bottom line of the two businesses and both are still profitable.
  23. That wasn't the question. I'd trade him for 2 first round picks as well, but not for Watson.
  24. If they wanted Watson, they could have had him without trading TT. Why would anyone do it now?
